   The drink experience is not an add on to the omakase or even located at sushi by boi. Feels very misleading. It’s in the incredibly brightly lit hotel bar. The drinks were gross and some didn’t even have a historical contact.

   The value of the experience was less than expected because 1) All of the seating is side-by-side at the bar versus tables/ booths and it sounded like it’d be more private. 2) “12 courses” ACTUALLY means 12 pieces of nigri sushi - I wasn’t expecting large portions in the course obviously, but they should provide 2x the amount. My tiny 100 lbs date was satisfied, but for a 210 lbs guy it was an appetizer.

   Absolutely amazing evening! The sushi prepared by Chef Jaae was phenomenal and dynamic - we enjoyed every piece and the attention to detail. Chelsea was also fantastic and helpful in completing a perfect omakase experience!

   The service and food were both well above and beyond. The experience was unlike any I’ve had before and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our chef graciously met with our allergy restrictions without any issues, with is greatly appreciated!

    For folks who’ve never done Omakase before this is a perfect place to start, both in price point and pieces served. Chef, staff and ambiance were awesome, but the meal was very rushed. If you have tickets to a show at 8. The 6pm reso would be perfect because you know you’ll be done in time. If you’re looking for a more leisurely meal, this isn’t it. The toro bite was incredible. INCREDIBLE. Nothing else blew me away. It was all fresh and tasty but nothing mind blowing or too adventurous which makes it an easy choice for folks who might be newer to sushi!     We loved our time at Sushi by Bou. We will definitely be back! We sat at the counter and got to interact with the chef which was super fun. The staff was more than attentive and happy to adjust/customize them as requested. It was a 10/10 service experience.

    I would rate this meal at 7.5/10. The food was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly! The hostess was awesome!! We had purchased the bougie experience. I would take points off just given we waited almost 40 minutes to eat and I thought there would have been more engagement from the chef, it wasn’t necessarily an experience vs. just a standard dinner. Additionally, the ambiance was a not as fancy as I was expecting.

    This is an amazing place. Out to celebrate a birthday and the food was amazing. Experience is right. But beyond that the presentation, the ambiance was outstanding. The 20s vibe fits right alongside everything else. The best part though was probably our service. From the bartender, to our wonderful wait staff and friendly chef everyone was outstanding. Highly recommend and look forward to going back!

    We reserved the 60-minute (12 course) omakase experience and added on the cocktail (4!) experience. Everything was excellent, but not quite what we had expected. We figured that we'd be served 4 (smallish, you'd think) cocktails throughout the omakase menu. Not so. Before the omakase began, we were shown a cocktail menu. When we asked how these options related to our pre-purchased cocktail flight, we were told they were separate, that the flight was served at the separate hotel bar area AFTER the omakase. So, we ordered a cocktail that we sipped during dinner. To shed some light on that, one sushi chef tended to 6 diners. The omakase consisted of individual pieces of nigiri, served almost like clockwork every 4 minutes or so. I mean that in a good way. The seafood itself was some of the freshest, almost buttery I've ever had. Very little adornment or fanfare. Just a quick fire from a torch here and a touch of lemon zest there. Everyone of the 12 was outstanding. After that it's off to bar. Honestly, it's a little formidable to be facing 4 cocktails uninterrupted by food, not to mention now you're thinking you're going to be there hours longer to avoid getting hammered. We did drink the first two cocktails, and mercifully they were small portions and relatively light on the spirits. At that point we asked the server if we might just have a regular cocktail of our choosing in lieu of the two remaining planned ones, which he graciously accommodated. A good call all around. In hindsight, I would skip the cocktail flight and just order wine or sake during the meal. But the omakase itself was an excellent experience and a really good meal.

    Chef Tarn is the best! We’ve been here 3 times already and he never disappoints. The hostess Chelsea was very nice and greeted everyone with a smile. I highly recommend this location for the great service and atmosphere

    Service was exceptional. Couple of fishy pieces. The cocktails are truly amazing including the Toki ones. Expensive for what you get but it’s a cool experience. It’s far from an authentic Japanese Omakase experience but if you want that go to Mako. Super quiet unlike Sushi Suite 202. A lot more chill. So quiet we could hear the drunk as hell post grads at the lobby bar screaming “oh - my - god - Becky - noooooo - wayyyyyyy!” About every 3 minutes for 30 minutes. Recommend they get a door to the place, put the music up a bit, turn the lights down a bit.

    Just not worth it the price. 12 pieces of sushi, some good some not so good (taste preference to be fair), but for $100. Did not feel it was worth that price.

    The sushi was excellent - a perfect amount and really beautifully done. My husband didn't like that the sushi wasn't cut in front of us; the chef just put it together in front of us. Everything was cut ahead of time. When we were seated at the bar, we were served food before we even had water in our glasses, let alone the round of sake and champagne included in the Gatsby experience. I did not read the fine print when I booked the experience - which DOES clearly state that the champagne and dessert are at a table after the omakase. That was my fault. It was a bit strange to me to have champagne at the end of the meal. My main complaint about the whole experience was that there were not enough people working to give a decent level of service. We waited almost 30 minutes from the time we left the bar after our sushi, until we got our champagne and dessert. After a fun weekend eating at a lot of interesting restaurants throughout Chicago - this one, which was the one I was most excited about, turned out to have the worst service and most disappointing experience.
