Swift & Sons

Incredible service, delicious food and lovely ambiance! One of my favorite steakhouses in the city. They do everything right.
Visiting from Texas where we have an abundance of great steaks...definitely worth the trip!
Food & service was amazing. Very energetic atmosphere! Brought family that was in town from Charlotte. Theyre regulars at Del frisco’s there and said Swift & Sons blew them out of the water. I’ll definitely be back!
The food, service, and overall experience were fantastic. Our server was extremely attentive and offered detailed knowledge of both food and drink options. Swift and Sons is one of my top choice destinations for celebrating a special occasion.
For the money this restaurant was ok but not exceptional. The location in the West Loop is wonderful and the decor is beautiful.
There were 4 of us and the bill was $440.
Chicago has so many great restaurants and especially steak houses a steak joint has to be outstanding to be worth a second trip.
This was no Gibson’s or Gene and Georetti or Joe’s. Sorry
Awesome experience - great food, fantastic cocktail made tableside!
Me and my wife came to swift and sons for an extension of our honeymoon and could not be more impressed the food was wonderful and the service even better it felt like we had our own personal concierge to guide us through our dinner not to mention the cocktails were perfect had a great time will definitely go back
Unfortunately was disappointed with the food. I had heard really good things but overall was unimpressed with the meal. Perhaps it was on off night, but would not go back.
Great special occasion dinner with quality and delicious food but the great service really was the star!
Always a fabulous experience!
All around great meal! The service was exeptional. Our server, Andrea, was helpful with suggestions and a true expert of the menu. Our steaks were trimmed and cooked to perfection.
Great food. Steaks are prepared a little differently than most steakhouses. The sides are good. The cocktails were a little pricey but the wine list had a vast array of options.
Rock shrimp was nicely zippy and Loup de mer and small filet were perfect. Service was very friendly but still highly professional.
Not your typical Chicago steakhouse. Swift & sons is more casual less stuffy than most steak houses. Food and service were excellent. Bone in filet very tasty and highly recommended. Also enjoyed the crudo appetizer and wedge salad. Great spot hip neighborhood
My NY strip was perfect. It was a great cut, thick, juicy, and prime (unlike Capital Grille that is NOT prime). It was cooked exactly as ordered, med-rate Pittsburgh. Most places get it almost right, but this was perfect. I was just a tad disappointed with the sides as I find they can be exceptional at many steak places. These were very good, but not outstanding. I would have loved Lyonnaise potatoes (a la Joe's in Miami Beach) but then this is Chicago, not Heaven. The onion soup was excellent and our server, Elizabeth, was outstanding. All in all, a wonderful place.
The decor and service was impeccable. I was very happy with most of my meal. The toasted bread on my peach tartine was burnt, so hard that it cut up my mouth when I ate it and made the course a little less than stellar. My burrata salad was great. My husband loved the Caesar and crab cakes. The dessert trolley was a great touch! I would definitely go back when I can have some cocktails and rare steak!
It's an upscale restaurant to have a meal with friends, family or business associates. There is ample space between tables so you never feel crowded and it is easy to have a conversation...our meal lasted 2 hours so you aren't rushed in an out. The menu is diverse enough to cater to anyone's needs (one person in our part is gluten free, the other just picky), but being realistic everyone is here for the meat. We had the burata salad, rock shrimp, filets (off bone) and ribeye along with mashed potatoes, fries and mushrooms. I recommend them all, maybe go medium on the ribeye to cook a little more of the fat off the meat. The meat menu does seem to slightly change a bit with availability as the dry aged KC Strip was not available when we were there.
Our waiter and the chef offered vegan options for my wife and she found every bite to be excellent. Thank you for the outstanding service and attention.
Excellent steakhouse. Had a birthday dinner and everyone was very pleased with all apps and entrees. Great choices very well prepared meals, server was really good too.
From service to food, everything was on point and delish. Would love to come back with friends. Had the A5 Wagyu Flight and was AMAZED.
Made a reservation for anniversary. Put us in bar seating. Not great. Food solid, but not anything special. Very pricey. Louder than expected. Music and people.
My colleague and I shared a 44oz dry aged steak along with an excellent bottle of wine.
Service was swift, professional, courteous, and unobtrusive.
The steak was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, perfectly cooked to medium rare. Vegetable sides — a beautiful tomato and onion salad came gratis — were interesting and carefully prepared.
One of the best steakhouses I’ve had the pleasure of eating at — in fact I can’t think of a better one.
Great, attentive service, wonderful food. Thanks for a great dining experience.
Lovely resturante /
The staff went out of their way to accommodate my food allergies. They did a great job making us feel special on our anniversary. Our waiter was superb, he was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor too. The steak we had was amazing.
Ask for Humberto. A real professional. He accommodated us with our allegy affliction. Each course was described perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed dinner
Great food, ambience and personal attention!
Pretty good experience overall. Our server was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and very attentive. The menu was pretty standard steakhouse fare. We ordered two steaks. One of the steaks was overcooked. Also ordered the Lobster Thermidor, it lacked flavor and was dry. It's a great looking room.
Great atmosphere, the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. There are two bars, both with multiple screens to keep up with sports and enjoy a cocktail while waiting to be seated. Recommend for dates and special occasions, service and food are five star.
Best steakhouse in Chicago, hands down!! Great service, would recommend highly!
Excellent service and superb food
We went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and we had an amazing time. The service was excellent the food was excellent. The drinks could have been a little stronger for the price. Overall great experience. I would definitely go back again..
Food was delicious and superb service. The Japanese Wagyu steak was worth the price. Mashed potatoes and the filet mignon had a lot of flavor. Will visit again.
Food and service were great. Got a good wine suggestion from our server. My only complaint is this place is really LOUD.
Amazing experience, our waiter Austin was incredible
The noise level was SO HIGH that you couldn't carry a conversation with the person sitting next to you. And try and communicate across the table! IMPOSSIBLE! We were a party of seven at a round table and we couldn't communicate without having to yell. The food was good. The service was ok. The noise level was absolutely torturous! Would never recommend this kind of experience to anyone! Business, family, or a date! Period! Worst experience ever in a supposedly high end restaurant!
We had a wonderful experience at Swift and Sons. We went there for my boyfriend’s birthday. From the moment we walked is at door they greeted him with a happy birthday and gave us a complimentary champagne in celebration. It was a great evening with wonderful food and great service.
Excellent all around, the steaks and sides were incredible, and the "seafood Cold Platter" was amazing. The "sharing" of the Platter was an excellent ice breaker for our business dinner.
I have been to all the big steak houses in the country. Swift and Sons hands down has the best steaks I have ever had. The other places can not even compare!
Met some friends from Chicago as we were passing through. The filet Mignon was delicious. Cooked perfectly blue, the way I like it. The sides were excellent and plentiful enough to share. I just wish we had a Swift & Sons in Oakland California!
