    Nice cenue, views etc. but serve very poor. Told when appetizer arrived after 1 hr that Short staffed in kitchen. No water, dessert or coffee offered. Food was mediocre. First time visiting, likely won’t return.

    After reading recent reviews, I was hoping we enjoyed our recent dinner. It was fantastic. We went on Pickerel Tuesday and the food was great, Meghan our server had only been there 4 days and did an exceptional job. While they did not have all menu items, they had everything we ordered. Overall, a great experience and we will return.

    It was the Sunday of the labour day weekend and they were short staffed so service was a bit slow but the 2 staff that were waiting the tables were amazing - never slowed down for a minute and they still had time to make small talk with the customers. Very impressed with their work ethic and friendly attitude. And of course, the food was top tier.

    All the items we wanted were not available. Service was slow. Our waitress was unprofessionally “familiar” with diners. Food was not as good as when the previous owners had the restaurant. Won’t go back again.

    A very nice looking, casual restaurant in a great location. The food was good, about what I expected. I was surprised that the schnitzel I had was more like a thin porkchop than what I expected but I enjoyed it and ate it all. Staff seemed very harried (although I didn't feel like it was overly busy.) The woman's washroom next to the dining room was locked. There was another restroom but I watched several women try the door, and then ask if there was another. A simple, out of order sign would have been helpful.

    Before COVID we came for brunch often. We brought family with us that have never been this past Sunday. We told them that it was pricey but great food. I was very disappointed. The price has gone up and the buffet shrunk drastically. The bacon was burnt. The beans that were left were stuck to the pot and dried up. There was no butter for toast. It was not close to being worth the $30.00 per person. I won't be back.

    The Sunday brunch buffet is a BREAKFAST buffet; there were no lunch items served in the buffet. There was only ONE server who was also the hostess, bartender, and bus boy (and was working her butt off). The buffet was virtually empty by 11 am; no fruit left, no plates, no potatoes, etc. Our coffee was never refilled and plates were never cleared. The cook was attempting to, "reduce food waste", but at $30 a person, there is an expectation for better service and more food.

    First off the hostess and waitress were arguing about tables when we got there. Didn’t get the table we reserved top tier we were seated in the bar, not happy. Service was terrible, most of the food was cool not hot and fish and chips was very greasy. We were a party of 6 with 2 elderly people which was one reason we didn’t want the bar area. Very uncomfortable seating in the bar. Will never return or recommend this place

    I came in with an open mind, but unfortunately our experience was less than stellar. Our food took over an hour to arrive, and when it did, it was underwhelming, especially given the cost. My $28 schnitzel was small and the sides were inedible. My son’s wings were far too spicy (we ordered mild wings) and thankfully the waitress replaced them at no cost for honey garlic wings, which was very kind. However, both orders were incorrect as we ordered boneless wings and got wings with bones - given that we had waited over an hour for the first set, and my poor son was so hungry by the time they arrived, we were just grateful to get anything at all, and didn’t say anything at that point. After tax and tip, our meal for 4 people was over $150. We will not be returning. I really wanted to give this place a chance as it’s one of only a few options in this small town but it was by far one of the worst meals I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time.

    This was our favourite spot to eat! The schnitzel was amazing and you could get it regular or breaded. Now they won’t bead it for you. They were out of roe stu, Pinot Grigio and Carrot cake. If not for Lisa our waitress who made the evening fun I wouldn’t have been able to even rate it a 3. The food we did get was good and I would still recommend but whoever manages the ordering needs to step up their game!

    Last summer when we took our guests there for dinner it took 2 hrs to get served and we swore we would never come back. We decided to give it another try with the same guests and this time it took 1 hr to get served. Schnitzel was much thinner, hardly any rösti potatoes and practically non existent vegetables for $30. Very poor value and still very slow service.

    Prices are quite high but the food was good. An espresso martini was $14 !!!! It was very watery, maybe sat at the bar too long before it was delivered. Either way, $14 is crazy!

    We get it was Monday night on a long weekend, we understand that you had many tables at once, what we don’t get is that you took our reservation and the staff were absolutely overwhelmed by the situation. The hostess guided us to our table and warned us that ‘they were out of menus’. A few minutes later she dumped about a dozen menus at our table of 4. For a second we thought the menus had come apart and we sorted through the pile to figure it out. So it is not surprising that they run out of menus…She came back 5 minutes later realizing that she left the majority of the restaurant’s menus at our table, grabbed them and then scurried away. And that was the last staff interaction we had until we left 35 minutes later…. We watched the servers run back and forth from the kitchen with no rhyme or reason. They were not able to focus on more than one table at a time, did not coordinate their tasks, ie bringing out food, taking orders, clearing tables. They only did one thing at a time, and were completely inefficient. Tables sat there with their menus in front of them for a lifetime. We waited and waited without any sort of acknowledgment of our existence. Given the length of time, our growing hunger and counting the multiple tables in front of us who were in the same situation as us, we decided we could not wait any longer. We left saying goodbye to the hostess, who wished us a good night forgetting that we never even had our dinner… Our recommendation to the restaurant is to train your staff: give them the skills and tools to deal with stressful situations. Until you do so, we will dine elsewhere.

    There has been a deterioration in service since new ownership. The new servers have had plenty of time to learn the job, but continue to get orders wrong. Seems to be no QA. They are unfriendly and it took us 30 minutes to get our bill. Actually we never got it; had to go to front desk to pay. They should have done everything to keep Holly.

    Good food and great service, although the staff was really hustling. Veggies are definitely not high on the list of things they do well, but the pickerel and schnitzel were wonderful. We were seated in the bar section, which was quite noisy. Next time we will reserve earlier and ask for a seat in the restaurant. Overall it was a good meal, and we will definitely come back.

    Not the best evening for sure. We explained when we arrived that my wife was gluten intolerant and could not have any onion or garlic of any kind. They said they could do the pickerel dinner and it would be fine. She also ordered fries with no seasoning. When her dinner came the fish was with the skin on. Very hard to remove it. She fussed with it for a while but ate very little. The fries they brought were seasoned. Had to order a new batch of fries which took forever to arrive. Then the bill came and they charged us for two all you can eat pickerel dinners. Got that changed. My food was fine. Hers a bit of a disaster.

    We booked a high top seating table for my son's 15th birthday. We had a lovely Sunday brunch. The food & service was excellent & we had a really nice view of Ahmic Lake right at the outlet of the Magnetawan. We had a really nice time!

    Our family loves going to the Swiss Country House and have been going on an annual basis for the last 15 years. The resort that the restaurant is at is in need of some freshening up but the restaurant is still very nice, with great food and welcoming service.

    We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and enjoyed the great food and ambience. However this time we were shoved into a corner, the worst table in the room, even though other tables with a view were available. When we politely asked if we could change tables, their response was that they were fully booked, even though many tables remained empty over the course of our meal. Service was rushed, presumably understaffed, and no one seemed happy working there. Our server did not introduce herself and did not check in through the meal, other than to ask us if we wanted more pickerel after we had had only 2 bites. Water is not automatically provided, and when I asked for water only one glass was brought to the table rather than a glass for both of us. Later when my dining partner requested water, the service staff seemed defensive and annoyed. It was an all you can eat pickerel dinner on offer, but initial portions came to the table dry or overcooked. This meal came with seasonal vegetables which ended up as 2 slices of pepper and an undercooked slice of parsnip. Only I was given a slice of lemon, not my partner. I booked this dinner a few days in advance as I assumed it would be busy. Overall the dining experience was disappointing compared to other years. In the past I would highly recommend this restaurant to a friend, but not this year.

    We enjoyed our visit! I am a vegetarian so struggled with the lack of options. My dinner companion was very happy with the options and enjoyed their dinner. The atmosphere was really nice with views over the water. The service was pleasant.
