I am not a big sushi fan, but this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Ask for the chefs course and trust the chef. They made sure we were full at the end of it as well. Amazing experience, will absolutely be back! 10/10

People in D.C. are noisy, don't let it distract you from having a good meal. Staff was 10/10, food was a good 10/10, however the quantity of food is you know D.C. like... order a bit more than usual and you be satisfy, like I said, it's delicious but I've seen truck stops giving more sushi than here lol. Again, delicious but pricy for the amount. Would go again 100%

It was a little hard to find- but it is above the Thai restaurant- cute setting- even has a back room for additional seating. Chef prepares meals in the same room as dining- very cool. Sushi was good / fresh. Will be coming back again. Good for dates , friend gatherings or small family gatherings.

Just had the most enjoyable experience here! We had a reservation for the “Trust the Chef” 8 course dinner for our anniversary and it blew our expectations out of the water! The portion sizes were perfect, and left us full but not at all uncomfortable for an 8 course meal. Still felt excited for each coming course (which all delivered) and energized after the meal. The service was unmatched, they really took our feelings about the previous course to heart. For instance, one course was very mushroom heavy (not my favorite) and our server saw I hadn’t finished it and brought us a complimentary hand roll (which was amazing) to replace that course! Ambiance was great as well. Perfect low-key setting that was both peaceful as well as lively and aptly decorated. To finish off the perfect meal, our server and the manager brought us complimentary shooters to celebrate our anniversary! We felt so valued by and close with the staff here it was amazing, highly recommend!!

We had a delicious meal at Takara 14, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Be warned, though, that the sound level can be pretty high. I had trouble carrying on a conversation. It was a great meal; be sure to try their miso. It was excellent.

I come here once a week at least. I absolutely love the environment, staff, and the quality fish for a reasonable price. I went last night with some friends to celebrate a new job and we were spoiled. I got the peridot roll, three orders of the salmon nigiri, and my friends got the pearl roll and salmon nigiri. I have never had such fresh fish before - especially the salmon. So buttery and creamy good. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Some pics below of their delicious sushi

Got the Trust The Chef 8 course experience and the food was great and came at a pretty perfect pace. They let my wife do the alcohol pairing and let me skip it because I was the designated driver but i sipped a little of each of her drinks which did in fact pair well with the food. We love sushi but by trusting the chef we had dishes we never would have picked off the menu for ourselves. Responding to some of the meh reviews, the portions were fine and what you expect from a tasting menu- not tiny but not big TGIFridays style American portions. We left feeling satisfied but definitely not stuffed. The food was very tasty and fun. The ambience was a little crowded and casual for a fine dining experience- which may explain why some folks feel like it seemed expensive for what it was. Nothing to do with the food- just feels weird to drop $300 on dinner for two at a casual sushi joint.

First experience having bad service at a sit down restaurant in my life. Waited over 45 minutes for two rolls that never came. Asked about it politely to make sure there was no mistake and never got the food leaving well after ordering it.

We went here last night to try the tasting menu experience. I want to start off by saying all the food and cocktails tasted incredible! It was done to perfection. However, the overall experience of the tasting menu was highly disappointing. The portions were surprisingly small, and the each course took and 25-30 mins to come out. At no point during the meal did we feel satisfied or fulfilled. We were there for 3hrs, spent almost $300, and we still left hungry. Hungry enough that we went right next door and got more food from another restaurant. No fault to the server or managers, the service they provided was excellent, always checking on us and interacting. It was just the portion sizes and wait times ruined the experience. If you are looking to go here, just order from the menu. The chef choice/tasting menu is in no way, shape, or form worth it at all.

The food was just OK in my opinion in comparison to the price. They had some type of requirement that if you made reservations, you had to get the chefs special and you can’t choose which sushi you want but they were plenty of seats. No one with hardly there and other people could just walk in and pick exactly what they want it off the menu. when I asked to be able to switch over to that I was told I couldn’t because we made a reservation. Just seem like a way for them to get money. I thought that was silly to say the least and put me in a position to only eat what they want it my friend and I to eat which wasn’t very good.

We had the chef's experience and will be back when we are in DC again. Each plate was well prepared with top quality ingredients. In addition to the 9 courses the chef included complimentary fatty tuna rolls after we raved about the fatty tuna Nigiri we'd had, which accompanied sock eyed and other delicious tuna nigiris. Every bite was exquisite, from the opening salad to the closing soup and kobe beef plates. Our server and the chef were very attentive, and the Marga Yakuza margaritas were excellent. The ambiance is fanciuful: simple, modern and colorful.

Went for Resturant week. Great little menus. Mussels were excellent. Clean flavor. The sushi sampler was excellent. They did uni well. And the desert was unnecessary, but since it was included, it was very tasty.
