Take Five Bistro Ratings and Reviews
With a 5pm reservation we arrived at 4:55 in -13 c weather Doors locked and they would not let us in!!?? Waited till 5:07 in the freezing cold like cattle. I requested a nice table AWAY from the door , was seated near the door. When I requested the table next to the fireplace she told me it was taken. NOBODY SAT AT THAT TABLE the entire time we were there.(2hours) . Then with all the open tables around us she seats a table of 4 right next to us. Did not appreciate being treated like a second class citizen. Will go to the Keg from now on. Really got the feeling from the hostess, we were not welcome. It was my husband's 60th Burthday. Crappy attitude.
This is a great spot, especially for a special occasion. The two from my group that ordered steak indicated that it was the best steak they have had in Windsor! I am not a steak eater so I was happy to find a few seafood, chicken and even a vegetarian item on the menu. Great drink and wine menu and wonderful service!
Food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. Colin was a great waiter. We will be back and will definitely recommend your restaurant.
Thank you for an enjoyable, tasty meal!
As always we experienced first class service and cuisine at Take Five. Our friend’s filet was a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. My steak was good but surprisingly thin for a rib steak I thought. My partners chicken dish was excellent. You certainly can’t beat the service at this fine restaurant.
What a great find!
We went Sunday after a show, and although there were many menu choices, we ordered the “price fixe” dinner. Mussels in white wine sauce was delicious as was my steak and dessert. Loved the garnish of cartelized onions! As it was a Sunday, it was not too busy, so were able to have our romantic dinner at a cozy table by the fireplace. The classic jazz music, was perfect for the setting, and was audible, but we could still have a conversation. Perfect! Our young waiter was very attentive, and the chef came out to check that everything was alright...a lovely evening! We will be back!
Our server, I think his name was Andre, was fantastic! And I love that there were local wines available!
Great restaurant! Love everything about it...My new Fav!
The food was good. Not rushed out of the door. Bathrooms were dirty. There was garbage thrown on the floor, no paper towels to dry hands amd NO heat. Was very, very cold.
Over all great experience. Waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful, food was delicious and prices were reasonable! Would recommend to anyone in the Windsor area.
Great steaks. Enjoyed the experience. Would recommend. Limited parking space.
Great food and excellent service
Fantastic Food, service, atmosphere, this place is worth every penny...My new favorite restaurant ❤
Very chic retro feel. Intimate and warm with a thirties vibe. The white cheddar bacon jam filet is silky, sexy and never disappoints. I like how they try to focus on local product when possible and their beef aging standards are the best I've experienced. Take Five Bistro blows away all steak chains and corporate owned restaurants. Just saying... same price at a much better value and supporting the small business owner. Everybody wins.
This restaurant was a little pricey however the food, atmosphere and service were exceptional. We will be back.
Great steak, cooked perfectly. Our server Scott was very attentive and had a great personality. Excellent suggestions on wine and dinner options.
The food we received was not value for the money. Both mine and my daughters lobsters were over cooked . I had the seafood grill which over seasoned. Disappointed with this visit.
I didn’t say anything at the restaurant but my steak was tough. It tasted great just hard to cut and chew.
Everything else was delicious
The French Onion soup was delicious and the filet minion was done to perfection. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing - we had a great time chatting and enjoying a nice meal together. The service was great - we even got a visit from the chef! I would definitely go back.
Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. He was very attentive and professional. Chef came out to check with our meals. Great spot!
We will be back.
Food was spectacular. My wife and I shared our meal and started with a traditional Shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were sweet, cooked perfectly and the house seafood sauce was perfectly heavy on the horseradish. We followed with a Lobster bisque that was good just not outstanding. Our entree was the Mixed Seafood Grill. It was exceptional. Nicely charred over wood with succulent lobster tails, shrimp in the shell, salmon filet and accompanied by a chared leek risotto. Spectacular. For dessert, we shared the house made Tiramisu. Light and creamy...a great finish.
Second time here, Gavin our waiter wonderful, food delish, a lovely night out for our 25th Anniversary. Would highly recommend.
Love the food and the service. Our table was right by the bathroom so that was kinda a bummer. Otherwise a great meal and our steaks were cooked perfectly.
A rib eye steak thaat is a 1/4" thick and cooked like leather when I ordered it med. is shameful.
Also, I had to ask for the meal to be discounted. I did not anything on my plate.
Overpriced meals... does not equal the old dusty back room we sat in. Very hot. We will not be back.
The food was great love the prefix menuand the presentation was good. They gave me the seating I wanted so it means to me lots of repeats at this restraunt.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Service was excellent; smiling Chef approached table for our comments-nice touch. Made us feel welcome and comfortable. Most accommodating. Looking forward to trying more of the impressive menu selections. A must try!!!
Nice experience. Thanks
We went to check out the steaks. Heard they were delicious and we were not disappointed. Black and Blue Rib eye was different and tasted great.
Locally grown produce and Walkerville beer a nice (and important) touch. We'll be going back for sure.
Good food, nice presentation on the plate, excellent service.
4th or 5th time dining at Take 5. First time didn't get the fish or steak which are fantastic. Ordered veal scallepina and pork snitchel, good but not impressive . Would still go back and wouds recommend. Great value, excellent service and staff outstanding.
Great food, great service. Reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back!
Amazing food, steak was the best I’ve had!!! 10 out of 10 for sure!!!
Take Five Bistro serves consistently delicious food, has an inviting and warm atmosphere, and has incredible service. I am always impressed every time I go!
Take 5 Is amazing for any occasion. Great food, comfortable setting and always welcoming.
Food was very tasty. Presentation very nice. Steak was a bit tough but flavourful. Very pleasant ambiance. I will be back.
Food was excellent as was the service. We were very surprised when the waiter brought us a lovely dessert on the house for my partner's birthday which was also excellent. Would
Thus was my second time having dinner at the bistro. The first time 2 years ago was excellent. However, this time I was disappointed. The steaks where different, lacked flavour and was not cooked the way we asked. If they asked $20 for a filet mignon I would let it he, but for $41 you have to get right. Even after I sent it back it returned undercooked. I don't know what to say because there are too many other options in Windsor for a better steak cheaper.
We had an excellent meal at Take 5 Bistro. The black and blue ribeye is to die for!
Food was ok.
French onion soup was subpar
Salmon was ok
Ambience was nice.
Very small restaurant. Which I didn't mind. the food was excellent including appetizers and desserts. service was fast and friendly.
Excellent meal. Excellent service. But tables too close together. Very niosy, had to shout across the table to have a conversation. Maybe better during the week.
