it was my ladies birthday and I wanted to treat her to a good dinner at a nice place and as it turns out she absolutely loved it. the dinner was excellent, the staff was most courteous and attentive, the table location was perfect for the two of us.
an all around enjoyable evening, I thank everyone at Take Five Bistro.
Definitely we will be back
Food was good tasting. However I had to send my steak back 2 times before it was done to my specifications. I asked for medium well done. The first time I got the steak it was so red inside it was bleeding onto my plate. The second time it was still red but I would call it medium rare done. When I sent it back that time I told the waiter to say well done. When I got it back it was medium well done with slight pink in the middle. The waiter was awesome and very well mannered. For a restaurant known for its steak, I would expect the chef to be just as knowledgeable in the way the meat should be prepared for the customer. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. The fast burster on your tongue. The starch side were Devine.
This was an excellent dining experience. The steaks were cooked to perfection as were the veggies. Five choices of starch! Impeccable white glove service...highly recommended.
First time there. Excellent staff. Great food!! Thanks so much! Will definitely come back again.

Food and service always superb never disappointed time and time again whatever you order is always right on. Very relaxing atmosphere. And always well taken care of
My dinner was not hot. The steak was not cooked as I requested, and it was room temperature. The risotto was not cooked either. It was crunchy. The portion sizes of the sides on the main plate were too small. I was not impressed at all for the pricey meal.
The first time we went because of the location. The second time because we were extremely impressed. It's a small venue with old school decor. The chairs could be more comfortable but we stopped noticing when the food arrived. Our first time was fantastic. She had surf and I had turf. We argued about who's was better (since I'm writing this, I'm voting for me). Waiter was knowledgeable and pleasant. The staff was equally as pleasant and attentive.
Our second visit did not disappoint. It was equally as pleasant. We went mid-week and ordered off the Prix Fixe Menu. Not only delicious, but a great deal (especially for an American with a great exchange rate). Everything was great (again), but there was one stand out, the dessert. One of the deserts we had was the Mango Sorbet. We've had good food before, this was beyond amazing.
YES, we'll be back. Thank you!
This is starting to be my ‘go to’ place for a great dining experience. Take 5 has a wonderful selection of interesting menu choices and their support of local farm goods is so admirable. If you haven’t been to this gem yet...then you’re in for a delectable treat!
To call this restaurant a "steakhouse" does it a disservice. It is much more. That being said, I did or a steak. Wonderful. Too many steakhouses serve pieces of meat that are way too thick for proper preparation, I suspect, for a "wow" factor. The food here is much more precise.
Great food and romantic atmosphere . Top steak in the City.
Food, Service and ambiance was excellent. Already recommended to friends.
Our Meals and appetizers were all excellent!
We had Calamari and Mussels, both were excellent. Some of the best mussels we've had.
Our steaks were all cooked perfectly and so tender!
We will be back again soon.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Wonderful experience all around!
Amazing food!! Great cocktails and the sevice was phenomenal.
Great service from an attentive young waiter. Excellent salad with two very good meals. Crusted salmon and a pork steak with a mango/pineapple salsa.
Right priced wine by the glass. Cappuccino machine was broken. Not great for a Saturday evening! A visit from a line cook (introduced as an assistant chef but she came clean. Gave us the heat source in the salsa (received with thanks). All in all a very nice dining experience. A tad noisy though. But, it was Saturday night.
Phenomenal food and excellent service ! The meal is pricy is my husband and l typically go there on special occasion. The money is worth it, the food is to die for. I would recommend this to my family and friends.
Excellent service and ambiance. Unfortunately the food was not as good as it has been in the past. Filet was very charred and lacked seasoning even with the addition of bearnaise sauce(also bland) Lamb was just ok tasting, but was cooked perfectly. The accompaniments were very tasty including delicious table bread and homemade sundried tomato butter. Overall I expected a better tasting and quality meal for the cost, the taste did not compare to The Keg or Nero’s.
Our server Scott was absolutely amazing.
The food options and wine menu were fantastic.
Thank you we will defiantly return.
My friend from Nevada came to Windsor and we have made it a habit when she is in town to go there . The food is great along with the service
I have always enjoyed Take 5 and have always had a good meal. My meal this time was not the best as both my steak and my prawns were overcooked. I should have sent it back however my husbands meal was perfect and I didn't want to eat at a different time as he was. I always order med rare and my steak was med well. The soup was excellent (Lobster Bisque) but was disappointed in my entrée.
After the initial disappointment that one of the main courses was not available, the wine we requested was not available, and that there was no fresh mint for a Mohito, the dinner fare was excellent, preparation and presentation were very very good.
Always great service at this wonderful restaurant. As a manger of three restaurants my attention to service is second nature and I may look for certain details some patrons don't .. Everytime we dine I appreciate the cooks sous chefs and head chef as without question the waiter Dave which deserve a well done on our behalf.. thanks again , wish we could get there more often..
Had a lovely Saturday evening. Had the Fixed Price menu, lots of options, very good food, very reasonable price.
Had knowledgable and frieindly waiter.
Will definitely go back.
Just celebrated our six year anniversary here and couldn’t have found a better local restaurant. The ambience was perfectly romantic and the food could not be beat. Our server was very knowledgeable and paced our meal perfectly. We really enjoyed each dish and can not wait to come back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience.. would definitely recommend
Dinner was good, food took a while to come out. The steaks were good a little burnt tho. The bathroom could use a touch up. A little dirty and maybe newer dispensers.
Exceptional service. Never felt rushed.Great place to enjoy a special night.
We will be back
The service was great but my carbonara was a kinda greasy
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and amazing food! Local ingredients used in all meals which is a plus! Best steak dinner in Windsor! Will definitely be back and recommend!
The swivels as always was incredible. The food was a delight. Everything prepared and it’s own special way. My wife and I have been there several times and love going there. We would recommend it to everybody!
While my fiance and I were hoping for their Prix-Fixe menu as we like it the best, we did enjoy our Valentine's Day regardless! Adrian, our waiter, was and is always an amazing asset to our time at Take Five.
Great food and great service. The mussels were delicious and the steaks at Take5 are fantastic!
went for a 30th anniversary dinner and enjoyed the extensive selection on the menu and the wine list. The restaurant is very reasonably priced for being one on the top steakhouses in Windsor. Service provided was both attentive and professional which made the dinner very enjoyable. The chef also came out to check on our food and dining experience which is always a good sign that he is willing to check on the experience in his restaurant. The space between our table and our neighbors was a little tight and we overheard more of our younger neighbors conversations than we would have liked but that can be simply be the price of getting a table at this busy restaurant. Overall a great meal and night out.
Went for the fixed-prix menu in February. Very nice choices and portion size was to satisfaction not to stuff which is how I like to eat. Main choice was steak...cooked medium as requested, but the cut was not the best. Overall great appetizer choices and desert choices. Thoroughly enjoyed the crepes. When I go for fine dining, I always appreciate a white tablecloth and crisp white napkins. Those elements just upscale the meal. Tablecloth was missing.
Excellent service. I would return to enjoy a spring/ summer menu. Overall a very nice experience.
we have been to take five 5 or 6 times always very good. However this time we tried 2 new apps they were good tasting but for the price definitely not enough
Food was excellent. Had the night special. Swordfish. Cooked perfectly. Wine suggested went well. ZINFANDEL. GREAT NIGHT out with friends.
I was looking forward to this outing because of the good reviews on the food. However, I was so disappointed. I crossed over from the State to spend $150 on a meal that I couldn't even eat. I got the mixed grilled seafood and it was charred. The lobster was so small and I couldn't even eat it because it was severely overcooked. I had three asparagus spears and two of them were badly burned. Also, of the two shrimp skewers, one had two shrimp on it and other had 1 shrimp on it that I could 't eat because it was burned. The zucchini was mushy. I was so disappointed. To this day, I am beating myself up that I didn't send it back. Had my waiter, Gavin, asked me how everything was or even if the young lady at the front door asked, I would have politely told them how shocked and disappointed I was. I couldn't even eat. My boyfriend took it home. It was such a let down and we are still shaking our heads that we didn't send it back.
The two 'girls' who welcomed us took turns asking me if it was a ' table for 3?" I looked at the first one and said " NO just two " and winked at her because my friend was taking off her coat behind me and it was a surprise for her birthday that a 3rd person ( her bestie) was joining us. I held up 3 fingers, winked and said " NO just two" she seemed to understand the innuendo. Then the other girl came over and said " for 3?" I said "No two " at this time my friend heard but sort of didn't pay attention. I was worried they were going to switch our table to 2. We were sweated at the back at a table for 4. At this time the person seating us or front greeter could have told our server. Then he came over and said " I'll just remove this 4th menu since there is only 3 of you " that blew my surprise. He had no clue but in customer service you should have people who would have thought to tell server. My friend was excited and guessed right away however I was disappointed. I was very pleased with the service from David, he was perfect. He even had blue cheese stuffed into olives for my favourite martini. What was disappointing was both my filet and my friends steak were WAY over cooked. We both asked for medium rare. They were both medium well. No pink at all and chewy. We decided not to complain because we were headed to the Opera and it already took too long. If they can't get the protein right, the main most important part of the meal there's a problem. I won't go back again because if I'm spending $100 on a meal alone for me then I expect it to be great. I get that mistakes are made but this can't have been the cooks first night. Assuming a cook not a chef. Best of luck though.
We have dined here several times and have never been disappointed. . The food is amazing and wait staff is awesome. Adrian always takes good care of us.
Thanks and keep it up. Windsor is very lucky to have you guys.
Excellent service and food!
Our Server was awesome friendly and the food was great
