Our first time at Taku to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The food and service were great and the staff was very friendly. Very generous portions of proteins and vegetables. Left fat and happy. My only suggestion would be to provide more interesting sauces for all that protein. They provided a dish of bland, watery, white sauce and didn't have any other sauces available. We'll be back - they made it a great experience.

Everything was super fresh and delicious! The absolute favorite is the warm mushroom salad! Out of this world! We also very much enjoyed the shrimp tempura roll and the sweet potato tempura roll and the miso soup… But we really especially loved the mermaid roll which was a shrimp tempura roll with the addition of mango! The two desserts that were a New York cheesecake with strawberry kiwi and grapes, and my friend very much enjoyed his fried tempura ice cream… our server was so sweet to us she was so nice! Her name was Yumi.

Excellent lunch with family. Crab Rangoon was delicious as were the pork dumplings. Fantastic roll was full of fish and topped with tobiko and Mayo. Hibachi salmon had 2 large pieces of perfectly cooked salmon. Fried ice cream topped off a perfect meal. I would ask that the floors around the bottom of the booth tables be cleaned. Lots of debris. Thank you.

I've found Taku off of a Google search just because we wanted the Hibachi experience and was in the KOP area. I made reservations for 6:30 PM and unfortunately ran into traffic, so we called in to the restaurant as a courtesy to let them know that we're running 15 minutes behind and if we can switch the reservations to 6:45 PM. The hostess that was on the phone was extremely rude and flat out said "just be on time". This left a bad taste. IF the chef was running on a schedule, the hostess could have simply communicated that, usually there's a 10 minute grace period elsewhere but it didn't seem like Taku wanted our business and sadly we opted to go elsewhere. As competitive as the food industry is, you would think kindness would go a long way. I hope whomever runs this establishment takes this review into consideration and train their employees to have better communication and/or customer service skills.

Very disappointed in our experience, even though it started great. We were seated right away and the waiter met us at the table, so we had a lot of hope! But then he disappeared, we had to ask for everything. The tables around us were getting amazing service which made it extremely easy to notice how bad we were being treated, and when our food and drinks finally came out the drinks were warm and the food was cold. The manager ended up giving us 20% off but we will not be back. We stayed at the restaurant for all of 68 minutes max.

We had a birthday party for our pre teen and her friends. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. They went over and beyond and made the party memorable. Our kid and friends had a lovely time. Hibachi chef was good and entertaining. Food was stellar and ambiance was awesome!
