    Our server told us one chef was fired and one chef quit and the menu was new and wow no one in the kitchen even knew how to boil pasta—total train wreck of a meal—I hope they straighten it out —used to be a really solid restaurant

    Food was just OK for the price. Antipasti appetizer was good. They ran out of arugula for the salad so kale was substituted - big misstep there. Ravioli was good, Scallops were small and were floating in some watery beans, which was disappointing. Side of pasta was awful - it was cold and undercooked. Not what you'd expect from an upscale Italian restaurant. The wine service totally missed the mark. White wine served with the bottle on the table and no ice bucket. And paying 3x-4x retail price for wine (which is typical for Pittsburgh) and having to fill your own glasses is equally disappointing.

    Most likely the worse food and service we have ever experienced. We were there on a Saturday that seemed busy. First our food took 45 minutes to arrive and when it did the food was terrible. I was served a 10 oz piece of fat and grissel and completely overcooked that they called a lamb loin. My wives pasta was dry and all the noodles stuck together obviously sat on the pass for a long time. Terrible

    We had a great experience. Our server was Lexi. You couldn't ask for a friendlier, kinder or more attentive server. She took great care of us and made terrific menu suggestions too. We loved the meatballs, cauliflower dip, focaccia and pastas along with a delicious Barbera wine. It was a really pleasant evening and we'll be back next time we are in Pittsburgh again. Thanks!

    Four of us went for a pre-theater relaxed dinner and we were very pleased. The Branzino was excellent! Lamb was very good. Mixed reviews on the Braciole. Our waiter (Damen sp?) was terrific and his recommendations were spot on. The house Barbera was better than the Barbera by the bottle, so don't hesitate to drink wine by the glass. Desserts were excellent as well. All in all it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience!

    My boyfriend & I went for dinner for the first time last night. First, the pics on line are very deceiving. We thought it was an upper scale restaurant, quiet atmosphere, & a relaxing vibe. Not the case. The music was loud & the pics on line do not match the vibe. However, The food was very good! The service was wonderful!

    What a wonderful location- our first visit but definitely will keep on the return list. John was our waiter - knew so much about the menu and provided great information and suggestions. Food was excellent. Staff provided you time to enjoy the meal without chronically stopping to check on us. Great experience.

    Sat at the bar because of something weird going on with the kitchen. Bartenders were amazing and attentive. Food was spot on. Sans a pretty self important hostess that insisted we couldn’t have reservations (hence ending up ay the bar) it was truly a top notch experience. Def worth a visit! I had the Calabrian chili pasta with gluten free pasta. Many GF options and they seem overall allergy conscious.

    This is one of our go to places in Pittsburgh since we like to stay in the Kimpton, just across the street. There were apparently some major problems in the kitchen this night. The people next to us had been waiting more than an hour, a table behind us walked out, and apparently the kitchen ran out of meatballs (!!!). But we happened to dodge whatever culinary bullets were flying and had a pleasant meal as we always have. Even being hammered by patrons and the kitchen the waiter never lost his cool or sense of humor. Perhaps this is just part of the long, rough recovery from Covid? Give it a shot if you haven't eaten there. We'll certainly be back.

    The pasta sauce tasted like something out of can like chef boy are dee …no kidding The “meatballs” dish was plain horrible The other small plates/appetizers were very average .

    We came for dinner Friday evening. We had a reservation and were promptly sat. We ordered salad as appetizer, which was tasty. It came quickly. From there, things went downhill. We ordered pasta, which ought not to have taken more than 8-10 minutes according to the manager. Nonetheless, after 2 hours one of our dishes had still not been served. Our server was attentive and very apologetic but after a few times coming by to say our order was still not ready and without a reason for it, their excuses became empty. When the dish finally came, it was not the right one. Again, they were very apologetic about it but it took yet another half hour for the right dish to come. Food was good and we were offered not pay the bill due to their poor service.

    Every single member of their staff was so friendly and polite. Wine selection was deep and delicious. Food was great! Portions were smaller than expected, but enough. Dessert was amazing! Cool, fun vibe great for a date night, HH or group dinner.

    We have been to Talia several times over the past few years and it never disappoints. The food is very unique and delicious.....incredibly wonderful as is the service. The ambience is comfortable. This may be our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. We love it and can't say enough great things about it.

    Delicious meal. The cauliflower dip for the homemade focaccia was outstanding. Homemade pastas & pizza dough as well. Delicious & "fancy", without being stuffy! A must frequent restaurant in Pittsburgh!!

    We were all looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations or the reviews. The staff did accommodate the extra person in our party, which was appreciated.! NB we are highly critical first generation Italians visiting Pittsburgh. Here is food summary: Focaccia excellent Stuffed cabbage Ok was not hot Meatballs heavy sausage, spicy, hard consistency Ok Pizza ran out of regular dough?! Substituted gluten free, was Ok Cannelloni good filling, but outside was so dry they were unacceptable Orecchiette were good probably best dish. Rigatoni had mostly balls/chunks of spicy sausage and sauce very thick with minimal pasta. Very good wine but expensive. Ambiance a bit noisy but nice. Overall Ok at best. Mediocre. A DR (do not return) for all unfortunately. Never fun to write a review like this, but don't want others to get their hopes up. Hopefully if you decide to go your experience is better.

    Delicious, fresh tasting food. We had a risotto dish, a pasta dish and a pizza so it was a good sampling of the possible dishes. All were very flavorful and we finished every bite! My only regret is that we didn't have time to order appetizers too. There were several that I would have loved to try. Our waitress, Kayla B., was friendly and always there with fresh water or anything else we needed. She did a great job.

    This was a cool and classy place we would never have found if not for OpenTable. It was an eight minute walk from the theater district and we will be excited to visit again and try some different things on the menu. We shared a pizza and I had the arugula salad, which was by far the most tasty salad of that type I’ve ever experienced.

    10/10 for the food here. We got the crab appetizer, pork shank, tagliatelle and duck pizza. All items were delicious. The herb dressing in the crab dish was great, and I wish there was more of it. The pork shank was tender and scallops in the tagliatelle were huge. The duck pizza was soft and a little smoky from the oven. Drinks were good as well.

    Excellent post-pandemic lunch choice in downtown Pittsburgh. Great pastas and specials. Also a great bar for happy hour cocktails and great dinner menu. Recently opened an adjacent event space looks great.

    Our server was Damien, and he was great. On top of everything the whole night. We shared some small plates and finished up with the Ricotta pie. Great crust. A very good wine list. Will be back

    We’ve been to Talia before, but this time we were disappointed, service for dinner at the bar was not good —- inattentive bar tenders, and salad course was very long in coming, we had to ask for it twice. Pasta courses were not as good as I remember by far. Rigatoni with hot sausage, was very, very hot (hot sausage), more than you would expect without someone warning you! All in all a disappointing experience.
