We had a spectacular experience!! We reserved a table for 8 which usually is difficult in downtown restaurants. We showed up on time and the table was ready with complimentary iftaar appetizers. Faraz and our waitress ( I forgot her name) went above and beyond to treat us to a delicious evening. Food was the best I have had in Chicago. I felt as if we were in a family home. Our guests enjoyed their experience!! We will definitely be back

This is about the 10th time I’ve eaten here over the years. I live out of town so every time I’m in Chicago I try to make it in. This time I brought 5 co-workers, who all love Indian food. Most live in DC where there are also great places to enjoy Indian cuisine. Once again, Tandoor Char House exceeded my expectations. All of my coworkers thanked me for bringing them to this place and said they’d certainly remember for next time they are in town. All staff were awesome and helpful. Great place!

Great food. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Chicago. I've tried most of them on Devon. Tandoor Char House is a "fusion Indian" restaurant, but they also serve excellent tradition Indian. Lots of Indian natives in attendance. Try the chat fries for the fusion appetizer.

-Found a hair in my meal (Almost felt accused the hair was placed there by my party, but no one in my party had blonde hair) -The lemon (for squeezing over food) was frozen. - The bottom of naan was completely burnt on the bottoms. If you want good Indian food head over to Little India. Thank me later!

It's been a couple years since I was last here, and nothing has changed. The atmosphere is still too loud, no improvements have been made to the dining room- still a bit run down, terrible lighting and way too loud to have conversations with other guests. I'll start taking the "smart casual" dress code seriously when the decor and condition earn the respect. The server (same server as before) seemed pressed and tired, and the menu is extremely limited compared to competitors- a lot of the same proteins and curries available in 8 different ways. It seems the brothers have been more interested in growth rather than improvement, which is a shame. It is still great to be able to have beef as a protein, and the flavors are good, but the fusion meals seem like creativity for the sake of creativity rather than the desire to meld flavors in such a way that one eats them and says "wow, I could never have imagined this before, but it's so great." The drink menu is extremely limited to sugar laden, sweet drinks if you don't choose to BOYA. So much wasted opportunity here. All that said, the food quality does shine. For that I'm appreciative.

This is pretty average Indian food (maybe slightly below average) . Ordered spice level at medium and there was very little heat in any of the dishes. The mixed tandoor was probably the best thing we had. Chicken tikka masala was the worst of our dishes - it was very westernized in basically a creamy tomato sauce. Indian restaurants should not have pasta and other western dishes in the menu IMO. Much better Indian in Chicago

We went for a friend's birthday and had a nice time. Food was average (expected lamb tikka massala to be slow cooked rather than be hard chunks in the massala sauce) but the chicken tikka massala was great. We did place an order for nan that did not arrive. There was a fire alarm with a dead battery and it was beeping every one minute, so I asked for the battery to be replaced which they eventually did. Normally I might have been able to ignore it but I was a bit hungover and it was definitely not helping the case lol. The staff was lovely and polite. While this was not a bad meal by any means, with so many great Indian food options out there I don't think I'll be rushing back soon.

very great service and menu, it is BYOB, but a great wine and beer store a block away, oh, full Liquor as well. Food was well prepared and tasted awesome!

Food was delicious. We started with Garlic Naan and Masala Ceviche. Ceviche had fresh jalapeno served on a lentil cracker but was not too hot. For dinner, we enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala - medium and the Tandoor Mix Grill Platter. Spice level was just right for all idfferent tastes in our party. The only complaint I had was I wish the restaurant would have had turned the AC on as it was a bit warm in the restaurant while we were there. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

Lovely place to eat! Went for a birthday celebration and the waitstaff was excellent and the food was amazing! Prices were affordable and it’s in a great area. If you’re looking for delicious food definitely check this place out
