We booked last minute on our way there. Our priority was to eat quickly to attend show at Arts Club. You have to line up to check-in with others without reservations. The line moved slowly at first then quicker. Once seated, we informed our server of our time constraint. Ordered fish and chips hoping it would be quick. It was served in about 15 minutes of ordering and was yummy. From lining up to paying our bill was about 50 minutes. We sat upstairs out on the covered patio. Have a light jacket as the windows were open and there was a cool breeze off the water. Can not beat the gorgeous water view.

I wasn’t sure how to rate noise level. It was fine. Easy to talk even when the restaurant got full. We went after a matinee so were fairly early and took advantage of the happy hour food and drink. The bill was quite reasonable. Although the reservation on open table said “table will be for 2 hours” there was certainly no rush. Service was appropriately attentive. I especially appreciated the server being able to provide information when asked about a couple of options. “Option X you get more food. Option y had more variety”. That’s a perfect response.

Overall a good experience. Service was a bit slow, but they were busy. Lobster Roll seemed poor value. Prawns and scallops spaghettini was delicious.

Great service - attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable server. Wonderful setting. Food very disappointing. Awful tough, tasteless, cold, expensive steak. Fish taco mediocre.

The Creole steak is one of our favourite things to eat at Tap and Barrel. We were so excited to be able to have a view of the water from such a beautiful location, but instead we were positioned in a place where the glass was frosted and stopped us from being able to see out to the water. When we got there, the hostess asked for our reservation information without even looking up from her iPad and making eye contact, she was very cold. Our waitress was nice, but when I asked her why the glass was frosted she seemed very uncomfortable with answering that question. Make sure to get a seat on what I think they call is their outdoor indoor patio or on their actual outside patio. If you want a view if they see you in the restaurant, you won’t be able to see anything.

We had a very nice meal, but the noise from the kitchen was distracting.
