Went there for the first time to celebrate my 29th Birthday! It was such a fun and classy experience! The tea and food were delicious, loved the piano and the Christmas decorations. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Experience was delightful. The only recommendation we have is that the server come around and pour the tea into our cups. We found the pots quite heavy & awkward to handle. Thank you

I have had better quality for much less at other tea rooms. Was not impressed with the food but the tea itself and service was great.

The food that comes with the tea isn’t the best. Go for the ambience not for the food. The tea selection was good and the service was pleasant.

I love the room where Tea is held, it's grand, open, airy, and delightful. – it suits the concept of a high tea service. I understand the dress code and why it was implemented, there are many cruise passengers who probably show up in trucker caps, sneakers, and shorts. My dining companion was asked to remove his beret (no hats for men) and it seemed like a failure to implement a modern dress code.

Food was spot on for a tea service and they are very accommodating if you have allergies or dietary preferences.

Service was completely rushed despite the dinning room being at 50% capacity, it was unfortunate.

It wasn’t our cup of tea (no pun intended). I don’t think the website was much help in explaining the experience.

Such a wonderful experience with our girls. Both our 16 year old and 5 year old loved it. The service was wonderful, the tea delicious, and the food was great. I was Surprised at how full I was. Perfect for lunch.
I was back and forth about taking our girls due to the cost but am so glad we did it.

We loved the experience of tea at the Empress hotel! The tea and scones were absolutely delicious. We were not, however, fans of the Christmas pastries selection. The service was incredible! Staff were very attentive to our needs and made us feel welcomed. Overall, I would highly recommend and would definitely attend high tea again!

Our expectations were never met. I won't even go into the cost, it was the lack luster service that got this rating. For a "You need to do this at least once in your life" opportunity there wasn't much. There weren't even table cloths (linen or otherwise) on the table. There was no feeling of "Special".

Booking was strongly advised but the tee salon was essentially empty. Food served was not impressive at all, taste was average at the best, kish was really tiny and cold inside. Tha pastries were good but heavy. 200$ with tax and tip is definitely not worth the trouble.

A very relaxing experience with piano in the background and lovely surroundings in a historic hotel. Not very crowded on a weekday in November, but if it were full, might be able to hear others’ conversation. Some very good items but others rather bland (I had the GF). The service was outstanding, very friendly, helpful and professional. Glad I tried it once on a special occasion, but for the price (too much), would probably not do it again.

Stunning location.
We found the experience a little overpriced for what we had. Also some of our sandwiches were dry.

High tea is something everyone should experience and the Fairmont Empress Hotel is a great place to enjoy. Having a window seat offers an additional uniqueness to the atmosphere as one is listening to soft piano music drifting throughout the seating area. I also happen to have reservations during the holiday season which offered holiday decorations to the decor

This was our third time in less than two years.
we try to bring family members when they visit us from out of town.
The quality of the food and service continues to degrade, so most likely our last time for tea.

It was good for the experience of having high tea. The amount paid for it was a bit much and the sandwich and pastries were fairly average. The tea was amazingly good. For the experience go once, but its not something you have to repeat over and over.

Such a great experience. My 8 year old son loved the Prince's tea and they even gave him ginger ale in a champagne class since the adults purchased the champagne tea menu. Excellent service and beautiful ambience.

It's crazy expensive and inexcusably privileged given the very apparent homeless on the streets of downtown, but in that insane Disney fantasy way, it's also magical.

High Tea at the Empress was a beautiful memorable experience. 3 of us ladies celebrating being in Victoria and the iconic Empress. Everything was perfect. Our server was awesome! We all felt the experience was well worth our vacation dollars and we will do it again whenever we get the chance to visit this wonderful city.

We had a tea. We chose the tea we desired and we each received a tea pot of hot water. Once our tea was steeped we drank it. Our server was distracted by two other tables. We also got finger sandwiches and small desserts. The cost for this experience in the lovely lobby of the Fairmont was $100 each...
So for $200 we got a pot of tea, albeit in fine china...and some small bites...would we do it again? No.

The Afternoon tea was wonderful. Great environment, friendly staff, and good service. The only thing I would recommend for the servers is to explain the service a little more slowly as there was quite a bit of information. Other than that, it was amazing and I would recommend it to people.
