The food at Terra was very good. We enjoyed all our appetizers and entrees. The environment is a bit noisy particularly if they sit you in the middle so we asked to be moved towards a corner and it was better. Service was pretty slow and at the end we waited about 20 minutes after dining to get our bill. If you have plenty of time to relax, the food makes up for the small annoyances.

Excellent setting and ambience. Outside seating not as nice as indoor seating. Service was terrific. Halibut for two was overcooked and quite dry. Steak and duck were good.

Die Reservierung war unproblematisch und sehr gut organisiert. Es gab noch eine Nachricht per SMS und alles war vorbereitet als wir ankamen. Sehr schönes Ambiente, das Fleisch und die Pasta waren auf den Punkt zubereitet. Die Portionen sind völlig ausreichend und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Ein sehr schöner Abend mit 4 sehr zufriedenen Gästen.

Void food. Very unique presentation and “different” in a contemporary way. We split the 12oz Bison steak - delicious if you like a lean meat. We did. If you want a little more fat and tender get the ribeye. The server was excellent and helped us choose our selections since we were first-timers. All in all - great experience.

The menu is very limited. They don’t offer a salad. Service was slow. Sourdough bread was delicious but only bread available with a meal. All our dishes were very good. There are better choices in town.

While the food was good, we were disappointed by the service. Our server, an Australian woman, barely went through the motions. She showed little interest in her work, quickly rattled off a summary of the restaurants offerings, and dropped off our food with barely a word. The restaurant wasn't even busy. She just seemed check out, distracted, and even mildly inconvenienced by our presence. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend Terra to friends and family vacationing in Jasper.

We ordered steak. It was completely over cooked for what we ordered. Tried to get our servers attention for a while with no luck. She never came to check on us or ask us how our food was or anything. We couldn’t even finish our dinner. It was my birthday and I was really looking forward to eating here. Would not recommend!

Terra was terrible! Definitely not impressed. My husband and I ordered the halibut meal for two for $90. It came with two sides and ONE plate of fish for us to share. One piece of fish on a plate! So why am I being charged for a dinner for two?? It was smaller than the dinner portion our friend ordered for $46. Don’t waste your money

Awful experience as our orders still had not arrived after 1 hour and we were then told another 15mn, then 15 mn later another 10mn… while people around us were getting served much faster. I can only guess they were serving the hotel residents first (this is a hotel restaurant). When we complained to the manager she refused to acknowledge the problem and tried to blame first our orders (a well done steak apparently takes over an hour to cook) then our attitude (complaining = being rude) and trotted out some well rehearsed lines, including the “do not be rude to the staff” which our very nice waitress denied in front of her as we had been polite and patient throughout. By the time our very bland food had arrived, we had lost our appetite. Very rarely have we encountered such bad attitude from a restaurant manager. Avoid.

As soon as we walked into Terra we were impressed. it was tastefully decorated and laid out. Our attendant, Bella, was polite, energetic and charming as well as very attentive.

My meal and my wife’s breakfast meals were extremely bland. No salt or pepper on the eggs or the omelette. I had the breakfast sausage that was obviously deep fried and dried out completely. I couldn’t even finish it. The roasted potatoes were pretty good. Smitty’s would have been a much better option.

The only downside was we tried to order a mocktail and cocktail from the drink menu but were told they didn’t have them available. Otherwise had a very pleasant dinner with great service in a beautiful Scandi organic setting. Would return.

Because the elevator was not working, we had to wait a bit until a large group was seated for a buffet breakfast (that would have been elsewhere in the hotel if the elevator had worked!). The staff set up space in the private room for us which meant we did not hear as much noise from the large group as we would have otherwise. Friendly staff, good food.

I debated whether to write a review as we didn’t actually get the chance to eat here. Beautiful room, friendly welcome, lovely menu. Wrong coffees and still no food an hour after ordering, despite the room only half full. The reason for submitting the review is that when we pointed this out to our server, we were incorrectly told that it hadn’t been an hour, only half an hour wait. We completely understand that sometimes there can be a delay but don’t compound this frustration by challenging our simple observation.

Minimal food selections/ small menu considering it is prime tourist season. Drinks were tasty but took a long time. Mushroom Parfait was solid. Steak came missing sauce. Chicken was sub par. Slow service considering there were only 4 tables in there at prime time on a Saturday night. Would have loved to seen more attention to detail for a restaurant of this caliber.

Hello, we really looked forward to dining at Terra this past Saturday. The menu is appealing and very seasonal. We love this and really wanted to experience the story behind the menu. The food really was great and we certainly appreciate the chef’s efforts for crafting regional and seasonal food to reflect the Terra of the Rocky Mountains. We really wished that the service was more engaging, and wanted to be at the table. Unfortunately, the service needs a polish to reflect the outstanding food concept.

My guest and I both ordered main courses with the intention of sharing. One of those meals was a steak, ordered medium rare but unfortunately presented one the plate as nicely seared on the outside but rare to the point of raw inside. Had my guest not preferred hers very rare and eaten several bites before I noticed I would have returned it uneaten. A suggested ten minute wait to get fresh coffee seemed a bit excessive so we both declined. Everything else looked at tasted wonderful but not as hot as it should have been. The server, Matt, was accommodating, informative, friendly and helpful.

It was too bad this wasn’t a good experience. We went for brunch and we asked for medium poached eggs and they were overdone. My son got the kids waffle and it was the smallest waffle I’d ever seen. Overall I think the meals were overpriced and servings small. The waitress was new, so she missed a couple things on our order, I can live with that but she never checked on us to find out we were missing items. I found prices really high overall in all restaurants in jasper this past weekend, I guess it’s because it’s got really touristy? As an Albertan just going for a weekend trip, super expensive, but just overpriced compared to everywhere else in Alberta, I guess. Won’t be back to this restaurant.
