The ambience is gorgeous. We came for an early 5pm reservation to get a window seat . We had the restaurant to ourselves for about 40 min . The fresh sour dough bread was hot and delicious. The cocktails we got were lovely . If you like mussels they are a must try , very fresh . There was a little bit of a delay between courses but we sat and just enjoyed the view and calmness. Beautifully redone in decor . It very much reminds me of farm and Tulum vibes . Our main dishes were good the filet and the Bolognese. Overall we enjoyed this new gem of medincino.

Fantastic wait service. Our meal was outstanding and quite obviously the chef enjoys using artistry and creativity. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary - which they immediately noted and offered to treat us to champagne or dessert. We chose dessert. Had an amazing corner table with outstanding views.

After a week of 3.5 star restaurants from San Francisco through Sonoma, we were blown away by the quality, view, and service at Terra Mar. Drinks were off the chart (thanks Kate) and the food presentation, freshness, and flavor were stellar. Fresh catch, filet, and the lamb shank were Michelin quality. Apps were top of the line. Will make the trip from Minnesota again soon just to dine here. Thank you for such a quality establishment in an amazing place. Wow.

The location is stunning- the service was absolutely terrible. We waited over 15 minutes before our server even came to our table. We ordered 2 appetizers, mussels and a bowl of soup. After we received our apps- we waited 40 minutes for the mussels and soup. Mussels were overcooked, soup was bland. Our server never once checked in after we received the food. The young man who refilled water cleared our food (uneaten soup) and we waited for at least 30 minutes for our check…and we had to ask for it! Honestly- a terrible experience. I’ve never written a bad review - but this warrants it.

Absolutely smelly! Upon entry we could smell sewage. What a bummer! Disappointing wine list. Completely different menu than what was posted. Service was ok but nothing special. Very disappointed!

I made my reservation with The Albion River Inn where I have enjoyed great meals over the last 40 years. Have not been there in the last 5 though. I As of June it became the Tetra Mar Kitchen. Ok fine..... I walked in and was immediately shocked. No longer a fine dining vibe with white table cloths and a nice setting. Now it looked like a glorified diner. Nothing special anymore. I checked in at the receptionist with my name and reservation time and she said ok, give me a minute. She then spent at least two minutes on her computer as we stood there before taking us to a table. Our waitress was polite but certainly not very prompt or efficient. Food was ok.... Nothing special at all and honestly - disappointing compared to the old Albion River Inn.then to top off the evening we ordered a dessert on their newly issued menu and we told told they don't have that item "anymore"?? Did they ever?? Anyway, we won't be back on our next trip to Mendocino.

The newly remodeled Terra Mar is beautiful. Modernized setting with touches of tradition with the fireplace and bar. We had a lovely corner window table for two enjoying our delicious meal with the north coast ocean and hummingbird garden to awe and delight us. Creative menu such as stuffed squid rellenos with a beautiful sauce. Our main entree was local catch of halibut, which was a tad dry but still delicious and plated beautifully. Everything so fresh and bright with incredible flavors. We chose a hazelnut crepe dessert unlike anything we’ve had. Crepes layered with a thin creamy frozen (maybe let it sit to soften it a bit) spread very thin between each crepe and rich not too sweet whipped cream on the side. Very French and my husband couldn’t resist the creamy taste and the last bite. One of our best meals in Mendocino area and we come here often and have eaten at most of the local restaurants.

Beautiful room with floor-to-ceiling windows facing gardens and the ocean, accentuated by a mix of straw basket light fixtures. The service is pretty casual, but they get the job done, and with good pacing between courses. All the food looked good going by, and my lamb shank with creamy polenta was excellent. Deep wine list from all over the world; I had a superb bottle of the 2004 Leonetti Cabernet from Walla Walla at a very fair price.
