Service fair. Very long to be served.
Was totally disappointed. Nice idea to have a restaurant in such a pretty location
(garden store).....but that is where it ends.
Always a beautiful place to dine. Our service providers were excellent. And you can’t leave here without trying their baklava dessert!
Overall it was 'ok', but not as great as it used to be.
The salmon was good but the price was higher that the portion allotted.
The salad on the side of the grilled cheese was just a couple pieces of lettuce, not really a 'salad'.
And we never received bread to our table but every other table did.
Also the dessert was so terrible we had to say something, it was hard as a rock, literally frozen with pieces of ice on it. It used to be such an amazing menu and the food was to die for and it just completely went down in value and taste.
We went out of our way because it was a birthday dinner to celebrate and it just wasn't was expected from previous experiences.
This is the second time we ordered a burger rare and it came out well done without a tinge of pink and had to be sent back. Although the manager said she’d speed up the order, we waited over 20 min. and the rest of the party was finished before we received our burgers. I enjoy coming to the restaurant, but this should not happen.
Terrain is a beautiful, serene, relaxing place to eat. The food is delicious and the service is very attentive but not overbearing. Had a wonderful experience.
I love Terrain Cafe, it is one of my favorite places to eat in CT. Try their iced lattes, the Terrain Burgers and the salads.
This was my second visit at this lovely café this time we tried the mushroom soup the best we’ve ever had so so good service was amazing we sat outside and it was just lovely we will definitely be back
Love this place. It was a busy holiday so a little noisier than usual and the Walt staff was slammed but this is my new favorite go to
Delish as always. No complaints. Plenty of healthy and interesting options.
I really enjoyed the food, but it took over 10 min for a server to even approach our table. It took 45 minutes for our food to come, and my friends burger was slightly undercooked when she had asked for medium. The service was very slow, and the person that was filling our drinks didn’t even acknowledge us when we said thank you.
Per usual, the food was fresh and prepared with care. The ingredients are always sourced responsibly and often locally. I love the ambiance of the outdoor eating space and our server was very attentive.
Thanks you made my day I like the place very much!
The website through which reservations were made were not clear that you had to request the dining room. The seats in the bar area were less conducive to our conversation.
Great food and service! Will definitely be going back
Lovely setting, delicious food and drinks. Great service. Noise level made conversation a little difficult.
Was there with 4 people and every one of them loved their meals. I had the Fried Avocado Benedict which was phenomenal.
interesting menu, fun delicious cocktails and great atmosphere , tranquil , welcoming
Wonderful food, attentive service
Fun to wander the store before or after…
Unique treasure in Westport often frequented by housewives for lunch and couples and families for dinner. The food is creative with a bit of California granola texture. I have been going there for years and had several business meetings over lunch. It is different from other restaurants in the area. I highly recommend it.
The Farro bowl was amazing. Had the strawberry dessert and blueberry fritters. Unforgetable!
Hostess cold and rude, waiter kind of rude, busboy plain rude. Only one hostess was super nice! Loved him and I noticed he was nice because he was NEW!
The bread and butter was delicious, as was the latte. The frittata was unfortunately bad and had a spongey texture.
Everything went out way last visit. Great service from John, moved us to a table outside, food was delicious especially the avocado eggs Benedict.
Finally the had a good guitarist playing an acoustic session in the garden.
Fabulous Sunday brunch- thanks!
Always love meeting friends for lunch. Greatefiid and shopping.
This is my favorite restaurant. I love that they host dinners for the season changes. This was my first autumn equinox dinner with them and it was everything I had hoped for. It was beautiful, the musicians they brought in were amazing, and the food was incredible as always. My favorite dish was the chestnut and squash cavatelli, my favorite type of pasta. I love terrain and I can’t wait to go back!
Fall Equinox Dinner was delicious! The surrounding fall flowers and pumpkins with lantern lighting made a lovely setting. The guitar duo played enjoyable music. Food portions were generous and a signature cocktail was included with the four course meal for $65. Was a great value too.
This four-course Autumn Equinox Dinner requiring well-in-advance reservations included a luscious house cocktail featuring bourbon, ginger beer and cinnamon. The beautifully presented cheese course was followed by cavatelli with winter squash , broccoli and Parmesan sage butter. The meltingly tender roast pork main course came with a delicious combo of kale and gigante beans. The scrumptious slab of caramel miso cake was so enormous that we really should have taken some home ….but was simply so good that we were compelled to eat it all. Staged in the Terrain garden surrounded by heaps of pumpkins, gourds and winter squash under lights in harvest hues, the event couldn’t have had more appropriate ambience. Incidentally, Terrain’s “everyday “ food is great too: their mushroom soup ranks among the best I’ve ever had.
In a climate where service is not up to par lately Terrain was 5 star. Very attentive waiter that was knowledgable and helpful all with a smile. They have changed the menu and there were so many great selections it was difficult to choose just one. Definitely go for the truffle fries they are a WIN.
We ordered the Terrain burger, which was very dry and the bund was burned at the bottom. Also I ordered tea, never been served. And I was waiting for the server to bring me the check, and after 20 minutes waiting patiently nobody came, then I went to the front to pay, and the waitress just walked out the door 10 minutes before 5pm and she said Goodbye to me! I was surprised! I should walk out easily at the door and never pay ! That was something that I never forget!
Had the best meal ever, every time I come here I fall in love a little more. 💛 still thinking about the homemade butter……. SO GOOD.
It was our first time at Terrain and we had a wonderful experience.
Food and drinks were great. I had one of the specialty martinis and I was a very well balanced drink. Cheese board was awesome with lots of good adds besides the great cheese; almonds and strawberry. Desserts were excellent, the chocolate terrarium one is amazing! We unfortunately I think were unlucky with not a great server which spoiled some of the evening for us. But the other staff all seemed friendly, hostess was great and happily moved us from indoor to outdoor.
Extremely disappointed by the Terrain Cafe. I'm all for farm-to-table food and was very much looking forward to trying their brunch menu but boy did it disappoint.
I ordered the avocado benedict and my husband ordered the burger. Dont let the pretty presentation fool you - the food could not have been more bland. Completely Tasteless. There was nothing, and I mean nothing special about this place.
It's like they tried to be creative and the effort is there but completely missed the mark. This place either needs new standards or a new chelf.
If you still want to eat here, dont eat in the main seating area - the nice level is obnoxious when it's full. The space is very small so all the chatter is amplified.
It's really disappointing when companies put effort into the decor and put no effort in the taste of food. It's like this restaurant only through of "Instagram worthly presentation" . Foodies, dont waste your time here, this is a bad one.
Lackluster food for the price
the mushroom soup was excellent. And the burger was cooked perfectly - I loved the onion jam !
Always a perfect environment to eat delicious seasonal food and drinks! But the fall is especially beautiful.
Wonderful service/options, delicious food and incredible aesthetic. A great go-to for meet-ups with friends or even a date.
Positives- the ambiance was amazing and the drinks were delicious. Things started off strong with being seated right away (we did have a reservation) and quickly getting our drinks. Then things fell apart.
Negatives - we finished our entire drinks before our food was brought out. The waitress realized it and quickly went to “check on our food” and it was magically ready exactly when she checked. Portions of my food was cold. All of our food was under seasoned. I would not go back.
My hubby and I always go and share the French toast for brunch with a side of fries. Their potted bread and seasonal butter is always so yummy and their drinks are also really yummy!
