Overall is good but the food is not as good as expected. We ordered three main course. The rice and sauce in Lobster risotto is not delicate. The Duck conflict is not tender and juicy while side vegetable is plain. But the lamb rack is quite delicious, which deserve recommendation.
My second visit here in 3years and still decent place to have a nice dinner.
I had a great time. The staff was warm and attentive and the food was fantastic.
We were there for a birthday. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and polite, and a gentleman with the establishment came to enquire about our meal. Given the quality and type of cuisine presented, we were a bit surprised by the informality of the staff’s presentation and demeanour as well as the casual ambience.
First time. Really great meal. The risotto and lamb were excellent. The decor could use a little warmth to make it feel a little cozier to match the cuisine. But overall I would go back.
I have never been disappointed at Terre Rouge. The ambiance is comfortable and intimate. The service is excellent - there when you need it and not when it’s not. And the food is both interesting and scrumptious.
The food is only ok. For this price, I will expect more on the food. I feel like I can cook the same food at home.
The first time I went, the experience was so good and the food was really good. I ordered the ceviche, fois gras and tomahawk steak (medium rare). The quality of the meat was cooked to perfection. The waitress also informed me about a discount that I could get if I posted a picture and tagged them on social media. Due to the first experience, I decided to go again and bring my parents along for a birthday anniversary. This time was different. TOO DIFFERENT. I like to try new things and so I ordered the P.E.I mussels, escargot, tomahawk steak (medium rare), lobster risotto and filet mignon (medium rare). Not only did me and my parents have sand on almost every bite of the mussels, the tomahawk steak, which is $160 before tax, was waay over cooked, and when I asked for a birthday event, I was told that all they could do is add a candle or a sparkler AFTER I placed an order for dessert…I mean..seriously? The very PEAST they could is provide a complimentary cake or dessert for the people who decided to celebrate their birthdays at their restaurant, ESPECIALLY if it’s a high end restaurant. For the mussels, they replaced it with the salad, which we chose, and still charged me for the mussels…as for the tomahawk steak, all we were told was that they can’t cook it perfectly because it is so big. I mean really? Considering its price (reminder: $160 before tax), the LEAST a customer would expect would be for their expensive meal to be cooked to perfection.. not only that, the mentioning of the discounted price after uploading on social media was never brought up. I still tipped the servers almost 20% total coming to $400 because I know how it feels like to work at a restaurant. However, I’m slowly starting to regret tipping them that much because the service was not even that great. I couldn’t be anymore disappointed in this restaurant. The first and LAST experience were waaay too different. I will not be coming back here again and you bet I’ll be spreading the word around.
Poor food quality for the price.
Lobster tacos are a disaster, shells in the lobster meat, more like lobster and mayonnaise you would find at Subway, taco shells are Old El Paso from the grocery store.
Mussels were much better, but served near room temperature (not hot).
Truffle fries yum.
Expected much better for price, menu needs some work, this is a French inspired restaurant??
Server was very nice and friendly, but did not ask how the food was.
Will not likely return here.
Yelda is amazing. Food and ambience was wonderful! Merci bien. À la prochaine!
Amazing customer service - food was delightful
Everything is good and clean, would come back again
Loved it! The manager, the host and the servers were ALL great.
We love Terre Rouge restaurant, it had nice set up on the second floor , we dinned early so it was quiet but the service and good was absolutely amazing. We ordered few different appetizers, lobster tocos were delicious and the the main course was fine to perfection. The steak was served on a block of pink salt rock that kept the temperature perfectly hot while I was eating my steak . We also ordered the lobster risotto and added some shrimp as a add on. To finish off our perfectly tasty dinner we were served with molten chocolate cake that was just a wonderful way to finish our meal. The staff was very professional and kind , friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this great restaurant and we will definitely go back very soon.
Food was good overall. However, the service was not as good as the last few times we were there. We sat indoors and was the only party inside. There were 4 other parties outdoors. Wait staff was different and seemed inexperienced. From reaching over us to grab our plates, not offering fresh cutlery, not enough cutlery (e.g. forks for appetizers), to the manager(?) abruptly setting down the credit card payment machine without asking us if we’re ready to go was off-putting.
We understand wait staff need to be trained and that’s ok. Our waiter was attentive but the manager did not seem customer service-oriented. As a courtesy, I expect servers to at least ask if we’re ready for the bill. For the record, no other patrons were waiting for our table and there was ample indoor and outdoor seating available. We are hoping that this was just an exception to Terre Rouge’s usual level of service.
It was my birthday. It was a perfect dinner with my husband and daughters. My girls said it was the best whipped potatoes and lava cake they have ever had!!!
The price and value is a little expensive than the next door so that’s the quality we were expecting, but the truth is not.
When we order for food, no one gave us suggestions, even we were asking if any cocktail is best suggest, the suggestion is Mojito out of a very long list of choices. Usually other restaurants would suggest drinks based on food.
The oysters and duck confit is our favourite but the other food were far behind our expectations.
Oyster fresh and light, nice for hot summer. Duck confit is juicy + soft on the inside and crispy on the duck skin. If you are planning to go, safe choose.
The lobster Squid Ink Pasta not suggest for male, don’t even half full even you finished all. The Steak, highly not recommended. Seeing the price we were thinking it should go with sides like the duck confit, the sides under the menu is for customers who would like to have more, and who help us with order didn’t said anything. When the steak came it just like a girls fist with nothing else…
Bone Marrow, tasty! But what I confused is when I told my friends, they show me the other people were having a full bone (2 half pc) while we only have half pc. I searched on Google, social media…yep, seems only us had half bones….
Have no interest to try their desserts after dinner.
Came here for date night. The menu is compact which is good because you know they do these items very well. Pricing is on the higher end but the amount of food you get is filling and very well prepared! Service was wonderful. I’d definitely come back.
Food was mediocre and very expensive. Appetizers (Fois Gras, Escargot, Caesar Salad) were all very dry and somewhat tasteless. Duck was dry until we asked for more blueberry sauce--then it was very good. Fish needed more beurre blanc. Lamb was good.
We have had similar dishes elsewhere that were much better.
Service was excellent!
Food was fantastic! Excellent service in a romantic atmosphere.
We would definitely go back!
no AC when we came in at 5pm for our dinner, we thought it was broken but they just turned it on maybe an hour into our dinner once more people arrived. Overpriced and the food was somewhat tasteless. definitely won’t be returning for a girls night here.
Excellent food and service. Five stars well deserved
Good food and nice environment. Price is acceptable. Would go next time.
I honestly don't like writing bad reviews, but this is one place that I highly do not recommend to go and there were several problems that happened- back to back. After entering the restaurant and being seated, I noticed there was not much social distancing from table to table whatsoever. I understand that it's the first day of indoor dining and you want to squeeze as many people as you can for the first day of reopening, but the servers literally had to squeeze between my friend & the table behind us while holding scorching hot plates. There was quite a wait tonight and I'm normally the type of person to be patient and let the food to speak for itself.
#1) The beer we ordered was literally warm and tasted diluted. We were told that it's supposed to be like that since it's a draft beer. I was shocked. Throughout the rest of the night, nobody asked us if we wanted to refill for more water.
#2) The appetizers we ordered were the Key Lime oysters and the scallops. The oysters were just okay, there was nothing really special about it and if I'm being completely honest, I had better elsewhere. The scallop dish was just really bland and the ingredients didn't taste fresh at all. Before the mains arrived, I decided to cancel my order of dessert because I was not getting any good vibes that the creme brulee would even deliver.
#3) For the mains, I had the blackblackand my friend had the lamb rack. Again, the black cod was not seasoned well at all. On the plate, there were a few turnips given, only one of them were cooked properly. The rest were grainy and not even fully cooked. My friend ordered a medium rare lamb rack and our server placed it on our table without letting us know that the plate was piping hot, resulting he burnt his finger a bit. One side of his rack was medium rare, the other was overcooking. This just gave us the message that the kitchen didn't keep an eye on our food and just tossed it into the oven.
We ordered seafood entrees. But the waiter recommended red house wine for us. He’s so hard selling with the house wine regardless what we ordered. We weren’t paying attention until we received our entrees and found out it’s such a poor wine pairing. Portion was small but taste ok. The black cod that we ordered was like room temperature, the plate was hotter than the fish. I think they cooked a large amount of fish beforehand and just microwaved the entire dish before serving. I got an upset stomach when I got home. The quality of food and the overall dining experience cannot justify the price. Will not come back.
Our meal at Terre Rouge was very enjoyable and the rock salt steak was excellent.
Oysters were delivered to our table one min after we placed our order … found that the ice underneath was melting to water, wonder if they were prepared sometime ago … the female server asked me how the oysters was when I put the oyster in my mouth, my other three family members not even started pick up the oysters, could hv been more attentive n wait … two entrees with no side at all, kind of pricey
The service was great and the food was impeccable. Efficient service, wonderful and creative presentation.
I think its a great restaurant! Strong recommend Terre Rouge to you guys
Menu is just empty.
My boyfriend and a friend of ours went to Terre Rouge for dinner last night and we were blown away! The service was outstanding and the food was impeccable. The presentation of the dishes are exceptional. You definitely get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I are going to make this our new date night spot :)
The food was excellent and the service was attentive and friendly. We sat on the second floor patio and had a nice view. There were four of us and all of the dishes were good, though some seemed a bit on the small side. I would recommend the duck confit (one of the best I’ve ever tried) and the lobster risotto. My only caveat were the steep stairs which might be hard for older folks, especially if you want to host an event. The desserts were fantastic and they added a Happy Birthday sign to our celebrants dish.
The Seafood Platter was bad, did not meet my expectation. Charcuterie Board is very normal. I enjoyed the lamb rack and steak on the Himalayan Plate. I love both desserts recommended by Vivian.
Small quantitie with not reasonable prices.
All things together you just feel not worth to pay more than 200 dollars for that. Steak was good but others.. em…
Tips required to pay the minimum for 18% but I was even seen my waiter touched my glass of water unintentionally. He probably not even realize that.
Thus, will not go again.
We had the most delicious meal paired with a 2004 wine from Spain. Everything was perfect. The escargot had loads of flavour, the oysters were served properly (over crushed ice, with proper utensils ans high acid/spicy sauce). We also enjoyed the Lava cake, served with house made ice cream. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for something exciting.
The kitchen exhaust window on the outside wall did blow very warm air and kitchen smell to the patio tables around the exhaust window. Several customers including us have asked to change tables away from the exhaust window.
Maybe install something under the window to deflect the air only blowing upward.
Overall we had a very good experience. Hope indoor dining will start soon, we can sit inside your restaurant.
Really bad service
I went to the restaurant to celebrate my 9th wedding anniversary. On the reservation I kindly requested for a celebratory message written on the dessert. When the time came for it I was told it wouldn't be possible. Their reasoning was that the kitchen was too busy. (It was a younger woman not our waiter). I am particularly upset because the request was conveyed at time of booking, and this was a very special occasion for my partner and I. We were also ignored for long periods by our server while they chatted up other customers. For such a high end restaurant I expected something more in the service. Never experienced this in any other French restaurant. This was very disappointing.
The service was prompt, the waiters were very pleasant and showed interest in the clients experience as we were dining.
The food was excellent and the ambience was great. I was surprised to learn of the upstairs patio. I'll try to book there next time when the public is allowed during this covid
Fabulous food, great patio and ambiance! Will come again for sure!
