Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    Terroni never disappoints. It was a beautiful evening for outdoor dining The chairs are a little on the uncomfortable side. The dinner itself was terrific and our server was great and as attentive as he could have been given how busy it was.

    Our group did not find this restaurant offered a typical Italian pasta selection. The food was just okay. The dipping oil served with bread was bitter and offensive tasting. No one at our table liked it. My husband asked for fresh Parmesan cheese on his pasta, but our server refused it. He said it did not go well together…?? They do not offer a typical wine or beer selection (maybe only Italian). There are limited choices for beer, both not popular ones in our opinion. The ladies washrooms are in the basement and limited to 2 stalls. There was a wait line to use them. I felt uncomfortable in the bathroom lshuttering to think if there was ever a fire and what would we do. My pasta order was on the dry side. Not the evening dining we had hoped for. Very disappointing.

    I think it’s time to improve washroom facilities and tables outside should be nicer. Food was was not as good as your Price location. Somewhat disappointingly when all is said and done.

    Poor experience. After waiting for 1.5 hours we had to ask them to pack our food in boxes to go. They had a big table beside us and they decided to give them full priority.

    While staying at a downtown hotel, we made a last minute reservation through Open Table because Terroni looked like a safe option for my dietary restrictions. The restaurant is lively with a classy but casual vibe. The tables are extremely close together, but oddly once we sat down it wasn’t an issue. Maybe because the ceilings are so high, it gives a more spacious feel. There was a lot of chatter going on, but not so noisy that you couldn’t have a private conversation with your dinner date. The service was excellent. A gluten free menu provided me with lots of options. Having celiac disease on top of a shellfish allergy makes restaurants risky, but my meal at Terroni was delicious and no cross contamination! My husband even ordered a gluten free pasta so that we could trade/share. They were the same gf rigatoni with different sauces, but tasted totally different, and both delicious! The wine we ordered was amazing— not available at stores but can be ordered by the case through Terroni… I am seriously considering…

    While all the past times I’ve been here food has been good, this ocasion the pasta was just far too salty, service was quite slow but our server was very nice

    Family of four two meals came out then 10 minutes later one more and by the time last person got meal the rest were done. Missed on timing. Otherwise everything was great.
