Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    If you enjoy waiting 35 minutes for a waiter to take your food order, sitting squeezed at a table that’s no more than 15 centimetres distance from another table, and yelling through loud music so that your companion could hear you, then I recommend this place without a doubt.

    Very loud environment with extremely close tables. A child from the table next to me wanted to know what I was eating, so she leaned over and asked. No privacy. The reservation was for my birthday and the restaurant didn’t acknowledgement of it. The wait staff wardrobe is unprofessional considering the amount of snobbish behaviour exuded from them. The food tasted good, but the price was too high.

    Our server Juanita was amazing. It was extremely busy in the restaurant and she was very attentive. I didn’t know what cocktail to order and she suggested a drink (which was great). The overall experience was wonderful and I will recommend Terroni to my family and friends

    We booked a large table at Terroni during the busy holiday season for a year end work celebration. They were very accomodating and called us to confirm numbers beforehand. When we arrived our table was ready in a cozy area of the restaurant. Our server was so patient while we waited for a couple of stragglers, then when they arrived and we ordered our food came so quickly. Everything was delicious! Would absolutely recommend.

    I was not satisfied with my experience. Understanding that it was the holidays we could have been reminded prior to have been seated that we had to vacate the table in a certain timeframe. I was embarrassed when the hostess came to our table after an hour and twenty minutes to tell us that we had to leave. Being that we were the ONLY visible women of colour in the room at that time I thought that it was extremely distasteful. Not to mention that there was a table with a baby directly behind us who were seated before we were and I did not see them Being rushed out of the restaurant…shame on you!

    There should have been a "notice" of construction on Adelaide Street thus impeding proper access to restaurant as it was a disaster trying to navigate around the area. But once there all was great.

    The food and service were great. We were seated immediately upon arrival at our booked time. Food was good and was delivered quickly. The tables were close together and the noise was a bit louder than I prefer, but the restaurant was full and lively.

    I've been to other locations but at Terroni Adelaide it was for a birthday celebration, I called ahead to ask about bringing a cake and they told me about the $4 fee per guest, which I didn't mind. I would say that during dinner we had two experiences, one before the cake and the other after the cake. I understand it's a courtesy to allow outside food, but since we can bring it in + be charged for it, it shouldn't be a big deal. I wouldn't have brought a cake if I knew it would be stressful for me and the staff. Overall, the food and ambiance were amazing.

    Great girls’ night out after a tough work week to hang and chill out. Fabulous wine, food + ambience was great. Must admit the wine was over the top pricey but it was worth it. Had to have the second bottle to go with our food. Loved the grilled octopus in nice smoky sauce with tomato, olives and capers. Shout out to our amazing server. Would definitely go back.

    2nd time at Terroni - returning as soon as we can (From Saskatchewan). Was referred by a co-worker a few months ago and brought my office staff back last night while in TO for meetings. SVP attended and was very impressed - more evenings to follow- Im sure. Thank you for the great dinner and service. Very tight quarters last night, which is not terrible, but a nice young couple had to sit attached to our table of 6. I felt worse for them than us. See you soon. Glen

    We absolutely adored the ambience. It was a beautiful building with so much history behind it all. Everything started off well, until the main dishes arrived. The pizza turned up at our table cold, as did the ravioli we ordered. It was not an enjoyable experience.

    food is good a few more choices with meat would be nice not just pasta with meat definitely would recommend to friends only the cappuccino was luke warm probably the waitress leaving at bar too long before delivering it

    I went to Terroni with 8 work colleagues in from Ottawa and Manitoba who were in a hotel east of Yonge street. We had never actually met face to face before. They put us upstairs at a large, square table. The room upstairs is beautiful. The server was great. The food was excellent with decent portions and the noise wasn't so bad. It was a little hard to hear the person on the far side of the table but it's a large room with 30 foot ceilings so that's to be expected. Overall, no complaints and would definitely go back. Prices are high but that's to be expected. Having eaten at Eataly this past weekend, I can say that Terroni is less expensive and the food and ambiance are substantially better in comparison.
