Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

Both my husband and I got upset stomachs from the food. The food came out less then 10 mins after we ordered it. We questioned ot but was told the restaurant was not busy and that that pasta is quick to make. We ordered pizza and pasta.

Delicious house made authentic Italian, good portions, not purposely huge but more than satisfying… incredible extensive Italian Wine List and Bottle Shop and knowledgeable Sommelier! Particularly recommend the Duck Confit Ravioli and Flourless Chocolate Bomb Cake!

Food was not as good as the other Terroni locations. The pizza was just ok. The service started well and slowly went down hill. We were not checked on after being served food. No chili or parm offered with the pizza or pasta. It was a little disappointing. The server did recommend a good wine alternative when they did not have a Pinot noir (sold out) as we were hoping for.

The food was delicious, even though I didn’t get what I ordered. The server didn’t come back and we could not flag her down to clarify the mistake, we ate anyways and it was good. The seating was jammed together. The music was extremely loud and made any social interaction difficult, the entire evening was leaning and yelling to each other. The food is pricy and the service is questionable. Overall the restaurant was a good experience, I think we would have had a better time with a different waitress and we had got our original food order.

We eat at Terroni restaurants ALL the time…mostly La Bettola, Spaccio East and Sud Forno Temperance. We always have consistently good experiences at these locations. Sometimes we go to Terroni Adelaide on a Sunday because it’s open and close to where we live. We tried earlier in the summer and all was good. This time unfortunately was a miss. Firstly, we had booked a table on the patio and were seated at a table in the south east corner, near where all the homeless people sit in the park behind the patio. We didn’t want to hear the loud, obscenity laden conversations so we asked to be moved. We were moved, but it generally spoils an otherwise good patio. The waitress was pleasant, but most times when ordering, we were interrupted by very loud conversations on her earphones…’306 doesn’t have their dessert yet!’ That kind of thing. Service seemed chaotic. When we finished our starter, the busboy put the used cutlery on the table. When we asked for clean utensils, it was almost like we had 2 heads. Is there a utensil shortage? 😬. On the plus side, the pizza selection is good and food was all fine. I had mentioned when booking that it was a birthday celebration; the server forgot until the very end and then brought a candle in a raspberry. She tried. See you again in several months when we’re at a loose end on a Sunday 🤪

I went for my birthday with friends. The restaurant was very welcoming, however our food timing was very off and a lot of our entrees came out late and cold. However management and server turned it around. They comped some meals and brought out complimentary champagne and dessert. Thank you for a very nice birthday.

I love Terroni on Adelaide. Haven’t been there for a while and we used to celebrate there many special occasions. Overall it was a good experience but there were a few hiccups. I phoned to say we will be late because of the horrendous traffic ( the new construction on Queen) and they moved our booking forward. It might explain why we were taken to sit downstairs but I wasn’t especially happy that we were. We should have been asked. . The food was excellent but for two problems. My husband’s pizza didn’t have one ingredient specified in the menu ( Gongonzola) and my son’s desert had to be returned because it wasn’t properly set( a desert in a jar) . So Terroni is great but for the money you spend there you expect less glitches more of a smooth operation. Frankly it was disappointing as this was my birthday .

Seated in upstairs room by bar which was disappointing as it feels like a modern addition to the beautiful building. It was VERY loud and we were seated at a row of tables so totally killed the romantic vibe we were looking for when we included the info that it was our anniversary on the reservation.

More than the sum of it's parts, but with a healthy level of room to grow. Spaghetti was a bit undercooked and the tomato sauce was average. Friend however greatly enjoyed his pizza. Wine recommendation was very good.

If you’re serving dishes at room temperature, Might be a good idea to mention in the menu or the server to inform you. My dish was room temp and I ate less than half.

Noise level is FAR TOO LOUD. I've been there many times and it's ALWAYS a struggle to have a conversation. It discourages me from wanting to stay too long (and maybe that's the point), even to have dessert. Eat and run! Aside from that the food is amazing (with gluten free options) and service attentive!

Was so looking forward to returning to Terroni after a long time. The seating by the kitchen for a birthday celebration was not ideal. the pizzas were late arriving and cold. The wait staff was the Only saving grace. The icing on our cake was while having coffee we were asked to free up the table. Brutal dining experience. Will not return again.

The food was amazing! Service was absolutely terrible. Server was inattentive, didn't follow up when dropping our food, didn't ask for more drinks, basically dropped our food and left us, didn't have proper cutlery, didn't bring us water when we needed it, had to flag down multiple times... Took 15 minutes mins to come over after food was removed from table to ask us if we wanted dessert. The service ruined what could have been a really enjoyable experience, because the food was so great!

Our table was in basement there was a distinctive unpleasant smell. Our waitress was very nice but she charged us with the highest tip percentage which I realized when I got home and check the bill. The food wasn’t so tasty I was expecting something way better from an authentic Italian restaurant. Overall I won’t go there again and I wouldn’t recommend a friend.

Our table felt very much on top of everyone else. Very hard to have a conversation. Washrooms had a line up of at least 5 people at all times. Very busy. We have been to other locations and always enjoyed it.

We had a lovely time- food and cocktails were great, but when we asked for our bill, our server took more than 30mins. We had TIFF right after so we had to ask 3x Not sure the details but also waiter had very long conversations with each person, usually initiated by him (from our POV)

Second time dining here. However, it was my first time coming here with a party of 6. Service was on the slower side, drink and food orders were taken about 30 minutes after being seated. Food came out almost instantly, which was fine but we hadn’t even received our drinks yet. Food was hot and fresh but lacking on the flavour aspect of things and I felt as tho the meal overall was very one dimensional. Waited for the bill for another 30 ish minutes after finishing our meals. Overall, I would not come back as I find this place to be inconsistent.

I found the music too loud to have a conversation. The food was overpriced and the menu was so difficult to understand. I thought I ordered a pasta but instead got a kale salad. The drinks took so long to come to the table. The mains were not served at the same time around the table so people had to wait for others to be polite which was awkward.
