Guests have been coming to the Thames Foyer to enjoy our famous Savoy Afternoon Tea for over a century. An extensive range of over 30 teas are accompanied by twists on classic sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream, jam, and lemon curd, and the talented pastry team’s selection of pastries, each one a tempting work of art. To this day, we honour the traditional service style of Afternoon Tea, a custom that dates back to 1840. Come and enjoy a stunning dining experience that has stood the test of time.

    There are no words to express how wonderful our tea service was! The hotel decorations were exquisite and transformed the hotel into a magical winter wonderland…beyond gorgeous! The entire staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food and presentation were beautiful! Even the girl in the gift shop was so sweet and took the time to tell me the history and significance of the black cat 🐈‍⬛ I made this reservation months ago as we had friends that were going to be coming from the USA with us and it would have been their first time in London and I wanted for them to have a wonderful experience. Our friends were not able to come but the hostess still seated us at a festive table by the pianist and they also brought a hand written note along with a beautiful dessert on the beautiful China with a note of Welcome to London written on the plate! So sweet! We walked outside and thought it was snowing but realized it was just another magical experience created by The Savoy with your snow machine. ❄️ We love visiting London and this Tea Service and the beauty of your hotel is definitely a highlight of anything we have ever done while in London. It will become a new tradition each time we come back ❤️. Thank you for creating such a beautiful setting and hiring the very best of employees! Truly a memorable experience ❤️

    I booked the Savoy as a late birthday present for my wife and what a treat it was. We had the festive afternoon tea which on all accounts was fantastic. The service and food was without fault and the ambience was superb with a pianist and Christmas decorations. Do not worry that it is in any way overbearing dress code is smart but casual, and, having not eaten in a hotel like the savoy I found it relaxing and my wife loved it!

    Lovely tea - Would thoroughly recommend - service was a bit slow but we weren’t in a rush and they didn’t have decaf English breakfast tea. Overall though it was great

    Fantastic Afternoon Tea at the Savoy. It was a present for my partner's Birthday and she loved every minute of it. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated for the Christmas period to make it that little bit more special. The staff, the service, the food and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Highly recommended.

    Beautiful venue and lots of attentive staff to look after you. Food delicious. Tea OK but not hot and waitress kept topping up my cup when I was still drinking the last lukewarm tea! Very expensive and I'm not sure it was value for money but nevertheless very enjoyable any way.

    Unfortunately the service was very poor . The young girl serving brought our hot tea but forgot the cups and saucers until I had to get up and find someone. None of it ran smoothly and the duck was cold the sauce was remembered afterwards etc . The real disappointment was the assortment of cake desserts none of them were nice less the scones and looking around we were not the only people who thought the same . Also dress code was smart casual what a joke there were people in walking kit , sweat shirt and jogging bottoms, . So I guess there isn't a dress code, just turn up how you want to Never again , I will book elsewhere and it's a pity .

    Everything was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and we were able to request more, which was great. The tea was lovely too and the staff constantly topped us up and kept the tea warm. Our server was especially wonderful and kind, always explaining what was in our meal and making sure we were comfortable.

    It was great! Loved that we could order extra sandwiches and anything else on the afternoon tea menu if we liked some more bits. Endless tea too! Was great value for that as we could order more. Staff are so lovely and it’s just so magical at Xmas!

    You couldn’t fault the location, the snow outside, the beautiful decorations and the talented piano player. However, the service was not up to our expectation and although the sandwiches were nice, the cakes were somewhat dry and uninspiring. The hot drinks were late in coming and the promised refills of tea and coffee didn’t materialise until we chased.

    Very exquisite room and ambience and very attentive and kind service. However for the quality of the food and given that afternoon tea is quite culinarily simple I feel it was a bit overpriced.

    Whilst the food & drinks were really great, there were a few things that didn’t meet our expectations, given the price point and the luxurious surroundings of the Savoy. Arrival: we were there a little early (5.05pm for a 5.15pm sitting), so were told that we should wait as they were just finishing seating the 5pm bookings, but then we would be told that we could be seated. We stood around until 5.20pm but weren’t collected so had to queue again to be asked if we could be seated. Cloakroom: we were not made aware by the staff that there was one, so had our jackets on our chairs with us throughout the duration of the afternoon tea. We only saw the cloakroom when using the bathroom, by which point it felt too late to start taking them in. Table setup: there were 4 of us, but we had a sofa for 2 and then 2 armchairs at either end, which meant conversation for all 4 was quite difficult. A much better setup would’ve been a table with 2 on each side. Tea service: the teapots were dripping as they were being poured. The server replaced one of them but one in particular that wasn’t replaced was dripping all over the carpet as it was poured - not what you expect to see in such a prestigious hotel. Overall a very nice experience, but those elements mentioned could've been better to make it even more memorable.

    Service very, very slow. We were allocated our table for only 1 hour and 45 minutes, which would normally be sufficient, but there were not enough staff. Waiting for tea or top ups was a nuisance. The sandwiches were nice and so were the mince pies but we'd eaten all the savouries by the time the first tea arrived, even when we were trying to eat slowly in the hope that the tea would come. We had run out of time to try different teas. The sweets were tasteless but well presented. The price was extortionate and given the slow service, I was amazed they charge what they do. I would go to Fortum and Mason anytime.

    Fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary. Staff were great looked after us all the way through leaving us not wanting for anything. Our server Iona was lovely and did a great job.

    For the cost that the savoy are now charging i would have thought the experience would be bettter then it was because there was 5 of us they used smaller glass for the pink champagne and just managed to fill the glasses using 1 bottle(cost savings) the food was reasonable but the choice of the cakes was poor I think if you are charging £115.00 per head you should provide the service to go with it in addtion some cups of my tea were left to go cold as service charge is 15% they should provide serviice to match the cost

    Lovely experience and staff very attentive at filling you cup - never needed to touch the teapot. Everything explained and offer of additional sandwiches if required. Pianist played throughout our visit. Only negative is that's you access through to dinning room and other function rooms so came feel like you are sitting in the middle of walkway. Black tie guests and existing guests with excessive shopping bags all pass you by!!!
