    Both the service and food were excellent. Our waiter was very helpful with recommending a good choice from the menu, and everything was well prepared and beautifully presented. Prices are very reasonable for a downtown restaurant, and I would recommend Albion Rooms for quality food, nice ambiance, and conveniently located to downtown sites.

    We arrived to find out the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. Why bother taking reservations at that time? We went elsewhere

    Went for a Thanksgiving fixed menu. First course soup was great, second course turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes, with scant veg and cranberry, was served lukewarm and had to be reheated. About 75 grams of turkey meat on the plate, but the plate was filling due to all the butter or cream in the potatoes. Desert wasn't good, a bread pudding served a bit chilled, where it was gluey and dense, and had chocolate in it which did not mesh. Would have been better warm, or better yet a 5$ pumpkin pie from the grocery store. The dinner was good but not worth 140$ for two, plus drinks, tax and tip.

    The cocktails and charcuterie were great, but the fries of the steak frites weren’t very good. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. The charcuterie selection was very good and the waiter made a solid recommendation on pairings that we really enjoyed.

    The new Heritage room is beautiful. The food was not. Very disappointing for a grand re-opening. French onion soup was ALL onions no broth and the salmon was overcooked (not just a little).

    We were a group of 6 meeting for lunch on a Friday. The atmosphere was very nice. The waiter was very attentive and the food was good. We stayed for a long time chatting and they did not seem to mind.

    The Albion rooms, located at the lobby of the Novotel in downtown Ottawa, never disappoints. Love the atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Food is always good. Highlights this time were the chilaquiles and the bistro hangover brunch options. Definitely recommend it.

    I went for brunch with a friend today. The food was delicious. I had the French Toast and my friend had eggs. The mimosas were tasty and the coffee was very good! The atmosphere was cozy and modern. The server was attentive and lovely. Both my friend and I agreed to go back again very soon.

    Food and service was fantastic! Nik, our server was lovley and had great menu recommendations. The service was perfect. Nik was very knowledgeable to highlight all the items on the delicious charcuterie board and answering our (many!) Questions about all the tasty items. The Chef, Geoff took time to come to our table as well which impressed us all. In addition to the meat & cheese board, our table had the seared scallops, halibut, steak frites and fish & chips. We sat on the patio but looked inside at the historic interior. Again, Nik took time to share some history of the building. An exceptional night with friends which was punctuated with the great food, service and atmosphere of The Albion Rooms!!

    Love our visits at albion rooms. The vibe could be improved since the feeling of being in a hotel lobby is a bit much but the food is amazing, the service is fantastic and we always love our experiences there.

    Oh Albion rooms.. how through your early years I’ve loved you, but you’ve gone downhill. From the Marcus Brutus to the dishes. Marcus Brutus is not the original award winning marcus Brutus anymore, recipe has been changed and rim doesn’t have the sweet honey bacon bits anymore. Steak ordered didn’t taste all that fresh for the 42$, and the celeriac remoulade on the burgers also didn’t do much for the burgers personally. Our reso was at 9:45 and upon arriving the bartender told us we only had 10 minutes to order…. We felt rushed and seemed like the staff just wanted to get out early as their priority. The arts court was having an arts / music festival 2pm-2am where we were coming from and had a good amount of people arriving around the same time as us closer to 10 looking for food and drinks. Seemed a bit like a missed opportunity. Will come back for a charcuterie board perhaps, those still look good!

    I'd say this is an ideal spot for drinks and small plates. For a full meal, the menu is a bit limited and it gets expensive quickly

    Nice food, attentive service. The ambience suffered from the lack of patrons: only two other tables were occupied for a Sunday brunch, which should be a very busy time. Perhaps the location, busy area of the market in Ottawa, lack of free parking or the fact restaurant is in a hotel, have to do with this.

    The food was truly amazing, and the service was beyond perfection. Personalized service and table setup like I asked :) The price was just a little bit high to make it a weekly/monthly thing, but overall, very happy with the experience!

    Fantastic location for pre or post show cocktails if taking in events at the NAC, SAW Gallery or OAG. The menu rotates so some favs my disappear. The cocktail and wine menu is excellent.

    Had a group of 6 people for a birthday. It took 30min for the server to come back to our area, and we asked her where our wine bottle was. She casually mentioned “oh we checked and didn’t have it in stock”. They couldn’t even come back to tell us this, let alone come get our food order. Food took forever to get. Fish and chips were soggy. Just horrible experience.

    Great tasting food! I got the AR burger and my partner got the carbonara. Both were extremely good and we were very impressed. The parmesan fries were amazing and definitely a highlight! We ended the night with the bread pudding and it was the best bread pudding we ever had. It had some chocolate in it and paired with the ice cream… it was absolutely exquisite. I’d recommend the bread pudding be heated a bit more but otherwise, the taste was on point! We would definitely come again and it’s definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Ottawa.

    May be there was not chef but the salad I ordered was not fresh, with a different cheese that should not be in the salad and there was dressing. No spices either. On another dish the size of the hummus was laughable. Not impressed I regret to say!
