    We love this restaurant. We eat here for special occasions. We met here and were engaged in this restaurant 13 years ago. We bring our friends here from out of town. This restaurant adds some elegance to dining in our town.

    3rd year in a row for our wedding anniversary dinner and again, didn't disappoint! Hubby had filet and lobster tail, I had coffee rubbed hanger steak. Sooo good! Worth the drive from Pataskala,Ohio! Love to go more often 😉

    The food and service here are good enough to make this restaurant worth a trip anywhere. It's an absolute standout in Mt. Vernon. Good prices, great food. What more could you ask for?

    The environment is fabulous! Just lovely! The flatbread was not great. Soup, salad and sandwich was good. The setting was so great, I would like to try again for dinner.

    This is a lovely old style classic restaurant. The dining area is spacious and refined, and the servers are attentive but not overbearing. Every dish we have experienced has been well prepared and delicious. A high end restaurant outside the typical Columbus area.

    We visited Mt Vernon for the first time and chose Alcove because of its online ratings. Its decor was absolutely stunning. Its food and service were equally as amazing. We tried the shrimp, crab cakes, and Sake Sea Bass. All delicious. The cocktails were nice but could use a little improvement in presentation. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

    Brie, our server did an amazing job. Jennifer, the manager, was welcoming and knowledgeable. Best French onion soup in Columbus! Our favorite drinks, the General Washington and Jenny Juice, were delicious as always.

    Beautiful , dark, romantic dining area. Good drinks. Service was just a little slow but friendly . I got the salmon burger which was pretty delicious and husband got ribeye it was OK. He felt it could have been seasoned more.

    First time here, it was great. We sat in the lounge area which made it a little noisy, but it was fine. We had the calamari appetizer which was very good. I had the hanger steak and my wife had the chopped steak. Both were excellent.

    I always recommend The Alcove to my BnB guests. It is the most beautiful restaurant I have ever seen. I would have bought a bottle of "Quilt" but it was way overpriced at $90; I bought a bottle of Quilt last year at Due Amici for $35. The Oysters Rockefeller were delicious, as was the Chilean "Lake" sea bass. The menu was great but the entrees are expensive, though worth it.

    Server, Brittney was great, but there were too many people dinning for only 3 servers. Longer than normal waits for service. She provided very good service when available.

    After reading reviews of the Alcove, we made the 65-minute drive for dinner. It was well worth the drive. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. The tables are covered in white linen tablecloths. We were seated in an alcove area with only two tables located in it. The server immediately greeted us and promptly told of us of the off the menu features. We tried the breaded buratta appetizer, and it was delicious. The entrees are served with salad and one side. The prime rib was excellently prepared and served at the proper temperature. The wedge salad was very good. The chocolate flour less torte was good.

    When I enter The Alcove I feel as if I have been transported to another city, which for me enhances my dining experience. I love the atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the staff is attentive, yet not overly so. I highly recommend The Alcove

    As a first time diner, I can only speak of the pork tenderloin. Magnificent. If you’ve had any reservations, I can assure you they are unfounded you must visit the Alcove as you won’t regret it.
