   A mess. This restaurant should not be open…. Made a Mother’s Day reservation based on the advertised brunch menu. They messaged me the day before TWICE to confirm the reservation (which I should have taken as a bad sign as no other restaurant has ever done that on open table). We arrived to the restaurant and it was closed…. When I knocked on the door, they said they would be ready in 3 minutes. When they let us in, it was clear they were unprepared and running late. A waitress came over to us and said that they were not ready to serve food but would we like some complimentary drinks. I normally would take it in stride, but this was supposed to be a special lunch with family I haven’t seen since Christmas. Terrible experience and they were completely unapologetic. Save your time and money

   Excellent and very delicious food, although the menu is somewhat limited and portions are quite small! The service was superb with friendly and accommodating wait staff. All in all, the meal was certainly worth the trip all the way from Connecticut!

   This place felt like “home”. The food was so delicious and you definitely get the rum shop vibe of being on Ariapita Ave in Trinidad. The portion sizes are great to share and the taste of consistency in each dish was solid. Also was nice to get a special welcome from the owner and chef, Chef Picky definitely gave the experience a nice touch! Plus, the atmosphere and music was a vibe.

   It was under staffed that night. Only one person serving the tables and serving the bar. So as we wait about 30 mins we still wasn’t able to give our order because that one person was still serving the bar. And she was going rather slow in my opinion. No urgency. We decided to leave because for a spot like this to only have one person working the space made no sense.

   As a Trini, i was very excited to hear about Arapita opening. The menu looked tasty and knowing that the chef worked at Negril I figured the restaurant would be similiar ambience to a mid-tier restaurant such as Negril, miss lillys, caribbean social, kokomo, etc. - just finally catered to more trini cuisine. But it’s more of a rum shop that serves appetizers. The portion sizes are too small for the prices they are charging. I will say the food was tasty- just wish they served more food (yuh know trini people like to eat!) cocktails were just okay. In theory they sounded good. i also would recommend having a couple other cocktails for non rum drinkers. service was ehhh.. but i understand they new so they’re still figuring it out. My table gave them a pass because we all trini and so was the waiter, but i know at another restaurant i wouldn’t be so forgiving. I would recommend this place for a quick tasty bite but wouldn’t go out of my way for a full dinner.

    I knew the food would be good but it surpassed my expectations. Staff was very attentive and drinks were amazing as well

    I’ve been waiting for a restaurant like such. The nostalgia of back home captures you from the moment you enter. A place to visit!
