    Food was good, it was a lovely Sunday dinner, a bit light on the meat, Fantastic Yorkshire pudding, great red cabbage. However, 12.5% service charge was a bit excessive. If you are going to automatically add a service charge, 10% is appropriate for a pub meal.

    Best Sunday roast ever. Chicken just fell off the bone, the roasties were so crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. All the staff members were super friendly. Would highly recommend!

    Very quiet Sunday evening. Booked for 7:30 but arrived at 7:00 for a pre meal drink and we were taken to a table straight away. Service was very attentive but there were very few diners. The main course menu was limited to a Sunday roast with a veggie option but that’s what we went for so didn’t ask if there were other options available. The food was very good and as I say the service was very attentive.

    We had a great family roast here. The staff are lovely, we hadn't booked til 6.30pm and I was worried there wouldn't be enough roast dinners left for the kids but the team made sure everyone got what they needed. They were so welcoming to young children.

    An excellent meal, though the chocolate mousse dessert two of us had was actually too much in terms of quantity & and could have had more chocolate flavour. Otherwise a real treat. We ate at the Bear in April and were disappointed (apparently the main chef was working in another of their restaurants) but this more than made up for it: staff pleasant and efficient, food beautifully presented (on hot plates - a plus!) and tasted delicious. I'd recommend without hesitation.

    We were staying in Bath so I had no prior knowledge of the Bear. The service was excellent, the servers friendly and efficient and the roast beef really tasty. I’d recommend a meal here

    Good overall, Sunday roast dinner had excellent selection of perfectly cooked veg & a range of kids options other than mini roasts… but a small single slice of beef per adult is just not good value!! Please sort it and we’ll be back many times as we’re local 👍🏻

    Some items were not available. Luckily for us our choice was in stock. Being of the older generation we do not want chips with everything or burgers. New potatoes, green beans and spinach are ideal accompaniments.

    We were very disappointed with 2 things that you served. Firstly, the fish and chips had batter that was WAY too thick with a thin measly bit of fish in the middle. Secondly, the gravy was a thin water with oil floating on the top. Nobody wants a jus with their roast. Nobody. Chef thickened it, and it was fine. The young lad that was serving us was lovely. The man who brought out the gravy was clueless. On the positive side our complaints were dealt with and we didn’t feel cross about the experience…

    The food was pretty shocking and whilst the staff friendly they were not on top of things: orders forgotten, missing items from various dishes, raw garlic served, poor presentation, and overall a bad experience. They did offer our party a 10% discount on the food to make amends, but we shall not be frequenting this venue again.

    Lovely food and friendly service. We were in Bath for a couple of days and this was the nearest eating establishment to our B&B. It was noisy, but that was to be expected in half term. It's obviously popular with the locals.

    Lucky to find a restaurant still serving Sunday Roast meals at dinnertime. A pleasant surprise. Service was excellent, friendly, helpful and prompt. Prices are mid range. Food was very good... companion had roast beef and I had the roast chicken. Both were served piping hot, were tasty and very filling. A nice atmosphere to have a meal in. Returned next day for their regular menu.

    A good place to have a meal, the staff struggled to find our booking at the start but found it, service was a bit slow at the beginning but once we had our order taken it moved smoothly and swiftly. Friendly staff and great ambience. Food and drinks was excellent although a bit pricey. A good place to dine if you have the money for it.

    We had a lovely little birthday lunch for my mum here - great food and staff were really friendly and helpful even brought my mums surprise cake out for us and didn’t mind when we set the fire alarm off with our candles 🙈 will be back!!
