   The Bear is my local I love the relaxing atmosphere and the food was good, new guy , American I think was really freindly hope he stays , easy on the eyes too .

   Lovely food and friendly service. We were in Bath for a couple of days and this was the nearest eating establishment to our B&B. It was noisy, but that was to be expected in half term. It's obviously popular with the locals.

   Lucky to find a restaurant still serving Sunday Roast meals at dinnertime. A pleasant surprise. Service was excellent, friendly, helpful and prompt. Prices are mid range. Food was very good... companion had roast beef and I had the roast chicken. Both were served piping hot, were tasty and very filling. A nice atmosphere to have a meal in. Returned next day for their regular menu.

   A good place to have a meal, the staff struggled to find our booking at the start but found it, service was a bit slow at the beginning but once we had our order taken it moved smoothly and swiftly. Friendly staff and great ambience. Food and drinks was excellent although a bit pricey. A good place to dine if you have the money for it.

    We had a lovely little birthday lunch for my mum here - great food and staff were really friendly and helpful even brought my mums surprise cake out for us and didn’t mind when we set the fire alarm off with our candles 🙈 will be back!!

    Great mothering sunday meal - food (quality and generous portions) and service were very good. Good music and was ​not too loud which made having a conversation at normal levels possible.

    Absolutely loved the food service and the decor! We had a lovely overnight stay here and it happened to fall on a quiz night which was brilliant! Breakfast was brilliant too! Already booked to come back!

    Me and my family absolutely love the Bear! We have gone a few times this month to us the 50% off main meals voucher. The food has been incredible and the waiter, Otto was amazing!

    We stayed at the hotel and it was absolutely amazing, Rooms were comfortable and slept the best I’ve slept. Had a breakfast which was absolutely outstanding. I will definitely be back!

    I booked a table for 9 people at the Bear….it was a very disappointing meal overall. The Veganuary pie was atrocious- watery mushrooms in gravy with a sweet potato mash covering. The sweet potato curry was just a baked sweet potato with a small jug of sauce, a half grilled oak choi and a pakora. The fish and chips was good. We’d asked which rosé wines were available as there were no wine menus on our table. It was apparently a choice of 2 so we opted for the Provençal rosé. Unfortunately when the bill came, it was listed at £34 ! We all felt this was completely overpriced for a pub !

    Two of us had a lunch on a weekday and enjoyed it. The service was friendly & helpful, we sat by a window and had a very tasty meal. The only, very minor criticism was that the meat portion was rather large but there could have been more mash.

    The Sunday Roast was delicious (we had chicken and Beef). All that was on the plate was well cooked. Cauliflower cheese as an extra was a bit mushy, but overall good meal and would revisit.

    Very tasty Sunday roast ( two had beef). Seasoning good, roast potatoes slightly soggy though- could be crispier. Also had the mushroom cobbler with a pea shoot salad- extremely tasty. Excellent choice too if being careful with the calories! Very pleasant dining experience.

    We made use of the 50% offer off mains in January. Fish pie was good but the steak was poor. If we had paid full price we would have sent it back. May have been a bad choice. Service was very good. The venue is very comfortable and has a good vibe. Price of drinks plus food quality spoils the experience.

    Service bad had to wait for a menu. Staff miserable seemed as they did not want to be there .not every thing was on the menu even though it was only 12 oclock so they could not of sold out of the lamb cobbler. Had to go and ask for a sweet menu and then go and ask for the bill .i wish now i had asked for the service charge taken off will not be returning

    Pub chosen for its location close to the hotel where we were staying. We were seated comfortably and the food & service was fine. We enjoyed the evening so much that we went back the following night for a drink when we were delighted to find live music.

    Meal was very good. Masses of veg and turkey, too much actually for us having a smaller appetite. Everything was well cooked, just the sprouts could have done with longer cooking as they were a might hard. Xmas pudding was light but fruity which went down well bearing in mind that we were very full after the main course. The brandy cream was luscious with the pud. All in all a very good Xmas meal with a bonus of our first drinks on the house!

    Food was good. Would have liked a wider choice of mid-priced meals, especially for a mid-week early evening meal. I had a starter with a side dish instead of a main meal option. Very tasty and served hot. Service was friendly.
