Modern Vineyard Cuisine inspired by our Indigenous roots. We proudly sit on the traditional land of the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation. Our inspiration for the name of our new signature restaurant comes from a chaptik story passed down through the generations of our First Nations people of the Okanagan.
The Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and we’ve taken their stories as the inspiration for the name of our restaurant: “The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry,” based on the story of the Four Food Chiefs.
The Four Food Chiefs are central: Skimxist Black Bear (chief of animals, representing self-sacrifice, leadership, giving), Ntytikxw Chinook Salmon (water creatures, perseverance, hard work), Speetlum Bitterroot (plants below the round, relationships to the land) and Seeya Saskatoon Berry (plants above ground, growth, strength, community) are legendary and the elements of indigenous cuisine.

This restaurant has a very interesting and varied menu. The food has a very close connection to local farm to table. It also has a strong connection to the local Indigenous community. I would highly recommend.

The overall service and food was outstanding. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and the entire staff including management took the time to acknowledge and make the evening extremely memorable. I highly recommend The Bear, The Fish, The Root and The Berry!

Dined here 5 times in 4 days while staying at Spirit Ridge.
Very disappointing. Food quality is highly inconsistent. Staff quite scattered and complete lack of effort from the managers.
It's a shame as the resort is great and views are stunning

I am here visiting my mother we put a note in our reservation booking and they delivered on our table it was a beautiful location on the patio with a great view. Our waitresses was Grace, she was wonderful to speak to, knowledgeable regarding food, wine and cocktails, and made great recommendations. She recommended the cauliflower dish as well as the bison carpaccio, we ordered both and they were incredible. I also asked her to pick a red wine for me to which she brought the cab franc and didn't disappoint. I would recommend this restaurant over and over again, the only thing was that there was no music which made the ambiance a little quiet listening to people's conversations but overall an amazing experience.

Beautiful patio overlooking vineyards and lake (in the distance). Server Shame was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and housemate cocktails. My husband has venison tenderloin and I had the salmon. Both dishes were delicious. We shared the Lady bug chocolate dessert. OMG this was so fantastic. Would definitely recommend!

Honestly, I’m very disappointed. On the positive side - the venison was spectacular (though maybe 4oz or less) and my server was very wonderful, knowledgable and easy to talk to. The accompaniments to my meat were lack lustre and didn’t make sense to the dish, carrots and potatoes... and the kale.. pass.
My personal bill cost me a total of $85, disappointed in my meal, and I also had a wonderful view of the resort pool...... nothing like a dining experience while watching people lay by the pool and seeing their parts exposed. It completely took away from the experience. I would recommend frosted glass on the lower half of the glass railing, or something to be able to see JUST the view of mountains, sunset and lake. There was no ambiance music which I thought was odd, but didn’t bother. Sadly I was really looking forward to this meal, and I wouldn’t recommend or go back.

What a fabulous find! We discovered this restaurant last year and fell in love with the fabulous menu which has an indigenous flair and I really like that they use local fresh ingredients. I really can’t put into words how tasty the food is, you really have to try it. There is nothing of its kind in this area. An excellent night out and well worth the price.

First class quality and presentation for unique indigenous themed menu. Standard prices were reasonable, 3 course fixed price menu was outstanding value.

Resort / golf club casual ambience was downscale relative to menu quality. However, plans were on display for significant renovations.

We had an amazing experience and the food was outstanding, worth every penny. It was a busy night that was fully booked but I felt like everything went brought out quickly and our server was very attentive. I forget our servers name but he was also a bartender making drinks and very busy but constantly checked in with us. I have no complaints at all!

Amazing service. One of our steaks was out late because it was over cooked the first time, they comped up salad and a drink. Wonderful staff and very quiet in the off season! They do a great job of embracing the indigenous land, food and culture.
