The Black Pearl restaurant may be the best restaurant in Florida. With its European ambiance & and world-class food, this is a true hidden gem of the South, right in the middle of downtown Dunedin. We have been fortunate enough to eat there twice, and both times were blown away by the food. From the succulent creativity of the amuse bouche through the delicious, perfectly proportioned white truffle lobster risotto, we were not disappointed by any course. This gets the highest recommendation.

Our experience here was excellent from stay to finish. It's an intimate space that feels special but not stuffy. Dan was our server and he was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the chef, the menu and recommendations. Every course was outstanding and the service was just right. We felt well cared for but were also given time to enjoy the food and wine on our own. Lovely music, stemware and atmosphere also contributed to a wonderful night. Highly recommend and you must book it.

We had an excellent dinner for my husband’s birthday. The food was excellent, the lobster risotto, sea bass and steaks were exceptional. We appreciated the staff accommodating our group a bit earlier. Highly recommend this restaurant

I will say that the food mainly the steak was not great at all it was seared and burnt and very small portion for the price I have had better steak at a low end restaurants... I would not recommend this place to anyone especially having to drive over a hour away for food that was not up to scale for a high end restaurant... the waiters were very polite and on point for their knowledge of such a small menu...

We had a wonderful meal at the Back Pearl. The filet was perfection! From the up scale ambience to the attentive waitstaff, it was the best meal I've had in years! They even called the following day to make sure everything was satisfactory. Who does that anymore! If you have a special occasion or just want a fantastic meal, I highly recommend to Black Pearl in Dunedin!

Service and food was excellent. Corkage fee was high 40 dollars. After refusing champagne host came to table with champagne and opened a bottle which we thought was a courteous glass and was charged 27 dollars. Overall restaurant was excellent. Just was impressed with the champagne situation

One of the best meals we have ever had. It isn’t cheap but it is well worth it. Probably the first time I liked everything that sat in front of me with it being more than one course. I would go there every week if we could afford too.

Fantastic dinner. The presentation, flavor, portion size and quality of the food was in my opinion Michelin Star worthy! Such a great evening and we were not rushed. Compliments to the Chef and owner of this fantastic establishment.

The Black Pearl has a non-descript, small frontage on a busy sidewalk in Dunedin. We weren’t sure what to expect inside when we approached the entrance, but it did not disappoint. The Pearl is a cozy venue of only 11 tables, well appointed, with comfortable seating and just the right amount of table privacy & volume to have comfortable conversation over the background music. What makes it more special are the staff, and the food. Service is impeccable and everything we had was amazing. “This is the best…I’ve ever had” is sure to pass over your lips. Rated the value lower only because its not that kind of place. Save your pennies , make a reservation, and prepare to say “it was more than worth it.”

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and service. Unbelievable experience. We asked the sommelier to pair wines with our food and I 100% recommend this. They did a FABULOUS job and everyone LOVED the wine selections.

There is no bar. Wine or beer only. When we sat down we were told there was a limit of 2 hours and someone had that table reserved after us. I understand that it is a small place but the food was slow to come out we ordered. When u are paying that amount you should give more time especially when our entree didn’t come out until 7:15. Therefore we had 45 minutes left. Fine dining shouldn’t have a time limit. We were looking at our watch the whole night.

I’m a chef who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and this is my favorite place to eat. The detail to attention with the food is amazing. I have never had a bad dish, and the service is fantastic.

What a lovely dinner. Quiet. Terrific playlist. Dinner came with a delicious salad that paired well with our wine. Ended with complementary macadamia chocolate. About 34 seats in this intimate and elegant setting.

It's a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion or 'Just because". The service is second to none but not overbearing. The duck was ordered but somewhat tough but they made every effort to 'make it up'. Lov'd their 'signature' salad and the Bread Plate w/ the olive Tapenade butter (which was an extra $$).

You get a whole team serving you the entire night. The food is excellent. The pear app, house salad and filet stood out but you can’t go wrong. The space is tight but elegant.

What an amazing experience my wife and I had here! From wait staff to kitchen to the sommelier, the recommendations and service were top notch! How we didn't know about this venue is beyond me. Incredible food and fantastic service! We have been wanting to dine here for a while but couldn't get a reservation, the wait was definitely worth it! The pork belly appetizer, Cuban cod entree, and Banana Foster for dessert were my favorites! The atmosphere is just what you'd want with a fine dining experience, great ambiance and space.

Great food. Everything we had was excellent. As many reviews state this place is excellent. Dan and Sean (spelling) are outstanding servers. This team helped me pick a wine that worked well with my desires and meal. Both were very helpful and tag teamed to ensure an excellent experience. I won't go into details on the food as many others have and the reviews are on point when talking about quality and layers of flavors, etc. A few notes in case they aren't covered by other reviews. This place is small - 11 Tables I believe. If they have a full house, you will be limited to 2 hours. The experience is a hybrid of a chef's menu where you can opt in for a few things and you select your starter, entree and dessert. I'm not sure if you're required to have a starter or dessert. They automatically put in a 20% tip/service charge. This doesn't bother me/us. It's what we tip for good service anyway and tip above for better/exceptional service. We will definitely return.
