    This is my son's favorite place to go for dinner. I made reservations to let the restaurant know we were celebrating his birthday. The server never acknowledged it at all. The overall experience was Good and the food did come out warm not hot. My son enjoyed his meal and that was all that really matters. I would suggest, but let them know the service was good food was slow coming out of kitchen, but was warm. Very loud on bar side

    The food was delicious as usual and all of the serving staff was cheerful, helpful and friendly. When I believed that the 20% gratuity that was automatically added to everyone's bill was intended to go to the servers, I was perfectly fine with that. It seemed like a sensible plan. HOWEVER, I discovered that money does NOT actually go to the servers. A member of our party asked point blank. The definition of gratuity is something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service according to Merriam Webster. That means that this addition was wrong on every possible level. Shame on you Boathouse! In future, give that money to the people who make it possible for you to operate!!

    Giving thanks while looking out over the flowing river brought home the meaning of this holiday. The beauty of our country and the sustenance it brings while sharing with friends and family. Staff worked the dining room with efficiency and unobtrusiveness which wasn't easy to do with so many diners. The food was absolutely scrumptious with the Salmon being the most delicious. Compliments to the kitchen. There was a slight issue with our actual table as it was turned such that the table legs prohibited me from pulling up to the table top surface. I did manage, however, to position myself sideways to get close enough not to drop food on my lap 🐱. Definitely will choose again for another holiday outing.

    thanksgiving buffet.Wonderful food, reasonable cost compared to other restaurants in the area. We actually sat at the bar which may have been less noisy than at the regular tables.Especially good sides.Server was pleasant and took good care of us.The closeness to the river is lovely.The capital trail runs right by the restaurant.Good place to take a walk after a meal.Was able to get parking close .

    Shrimp and grits, salmon and turkey are the stars of this Thanksgiving buffet and have been every. single. year. It was great the first year, good our second year, and meh this year. It’s time to change up the menu and offer something different especially for repeat customers.

    It was a great day to be here. Sunny, not too crowded. Pleasant staff. But... I ordered a burger, medium. Came out scorched. I was very hungry and ate it anyway. They took it off the check. It was very tasty, and would have been outstanding if cooked medium. Cocktails were good, I'll go back.

    We get there 1-2 times yearly from out of town. Always a treat to eat there. Great food, good service, really good vibe. One of my favorite places in Richmond.

    My food was absolutely tasteless! I didn’t even take a Togo plate. My server was amazing and he tried everything he could to try and make my experience a great one but there was no help for the food.

    Perfect setting by the river for our dinner. We watched the sunset while enjoying drinks and appetizers. Everything was cooked perfectly from the scallops to the salmon. Service was a little slow, we noticed other tables waiting for their waiter to come back near the end of the meal. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

    Food was very good, restaurant week menu was nice and a great deal. Spinach salad had mostly spinach- needed more toppings. Our food took 55 minutes to arrive- way too long a wait!! Waiter was nice.

    We were so disappointed by our experience at the Boathouse last night that I don’t l ow if I will come back again. Once one of our favorite spots, it has been on the decline in the past few years. Yesterday was the worst even though it was restaurant week and they were supposed to be showcasing the restaurant. To start, it took them about 10 minutes to come and get our drink order and menus; the wine bottle we ordered took another 10 minutes. Food was so average, I could have bought it at Long John Silvers and pay $5 for it. We had the crab cake and shrimp, and they forgot to serve us the crab cake inútil we brought it up to their attention. It was just fried shrimp with fries and hush puppies on our plates with a tiny cup of slaw, just like at Long John Silvers! Then, we got our crab cakes on a separate small plate. The waiter was very spaced out, didn’t know how to properly serve the wine. It was a total embarrassment. So sad service isnd food was such a disaster for a restaurant with so much potential.
