Online Outdoor booking is only for green house and fixed menu $50(3 courses), appetizer is good but main course are mainly burgers with dessert, the value is only sitting inside the green house with beach view, I can get burgers anywhere else
We enjoyed brunch at the Boat Shed and thought we might book again in June. However, there appears to be something wrong with the Open Table reservation system as try as I might I cannot find a date/time that is available even though I have gone as far as August for both daytime and evening slots. This is very frustrating.
I would recommend the Boat Shed, but caution about the reservation system. And by the way, even the phone number given on the website for the restaurant does not get answered.
Our garden shed was on the road so a bit noisy. Fish tacos filling and tasty. Allotted time was adequate.
We really enjoyed getting out with the family for a special celebration. The ambience was great!
Mother’s Day disaster. Arrived and was seated on time. It was a set brunch menu. We then waited for over 1 hour for breakfast. When we complained; we were told by the server that the manager was too busy to come and talk to us to explain the situation. After 1:15, the food arrived and was all cold and not to order at all; even missing some ingredients. We pointed it out and were told that the kitchen had run out of some items. We then decided to leave to see the table next to us be served the correct meals with the items that were missing. On top of all of this; take away orders we’re still being processed and people continued to be seated. A very disappointing experience.
The greenhouses were very cute. It was nice and bright and warm. The service was sub-par considering the standard $50/pp for lunch. We got a mix of options on the menu - most things were delicious but a couple of us got the fish and chips and the fish was very oily and mushy. It wasn't what I expected considering this was a beachside restaurant and fish and chips is a pretty common meal. We were celebrating 2 birthday's and Mother's Day and we asked our waitress for a photo - she literally responded "I'm run off my feet and this is super inconvenient and annoying". Then proceeded to take the photo but was very unhappy about it. I kid you not. I was shocked that someone could even say something like that point blank to a table of customers. It was unacceptable and one of the rudest things someone has ever said to us in a restaurant. It truly isn't the customers problem if they are understaffed (management should have made proper arrangements especially since it was mother's day weekend). Totally shameful.
The Boatshed is charming and the greenhouse setting is very pleasant. Unfortunately, this is our second experience with waiting 1 1/4 hrs for our main course and then being rushed out for the dessert and bill. The food is good but not up to the $50 pp price point. I’m fine with paying a premium under the circumstances and fine with the 1 1/2 hour time limit, but object to being rushed out of the restaurant when we are running late due to the restaurant’s slow service. I appreciate that COVID has created incredibly challenging circumstances and will give the greenhouse experience one more try because it is such a nice idea and I know this is a fairly new restaurant.
The service was amazing ! The green house vibe was absolutely the best!
It got pretty cold and although they tried to warm up the little greenhouses with heaters and 'hot water bottles', blankets would be a great touch - or table cloths to keep the heat in below the table (cold feet and legs). Food was great, delicious cocktails! Would definitely come again!!
Great food, friendly prompt service and a lovely spot. Dress for the outdoors. Only negative was the music speaker placed too close to us playing too loudly and music not to our liking
Super cute, I hope it stays around all summer! It is pretty costly for the actual food you're getting at brunch but it was really good and the experience was worth it!
This was a fun experience. The little greenhouses are super cute and would be really nice in the evening when it's dark out as they have little fairy lights throughout. The food was quite tasty but it was $50 each for a set meal including an appie, main and dessert. Drinks were an additional cost of course. The mains were mostly burgers. I'd say for the food it was definitely overpriced no matter how you look at it but I think you're paying for the experience of sitting in those little greenhouses. It was $236 with taxes and 18% tip for the 3 of us. One of us had 2 beers, I had a glass of wine and one of us had 1 beer. We think it was worth the experience. Fun evening!
Wonderful food and outstanding setting.
The service was amazing and The food was great!! Over all we really enjoyed ourselves we will definitely go again.
Great space with a nice sunset view!
Greenhouses and fire pit lounges are a fantastic idea on the beach! So unique and cozy!
Getting seated, the drink and food service was at a glacial pace.
Kitchen was out of a few dishes and menu items, and the substitutions kinda killed the dishes for us. ie. sourdough bread instead of buns for their burgers...
Their game was a little lose but we had a good time none-the-less.
Fish came out very late and cold the first time. Then the second time the fish was undercooked. Server was really nice and helped out as much as she could but the entree was a disaster. Appetizers tasted good but were very small. Not worth the $50 set menu.
Friendly staff & fun beach vibes. We booked one of the private gazebos. The fare on menu is quite simple and casual but good. At first glance the pricing seems expensive, but money paid is worth it considering the effort put into creating each little gazebo, twinkle lights and board walks to each, plus the required cleaning in between each booking.
Love this location and excellent staff!
The blonde short girl server that served us was a bit rude, she definitely made us feel that she wasn't happy serving us and made rude remarks.
I love the tuna poke it was very good. My friends food is good too, but the patty at the burger that I ordered was over cooked and very dry. It looks a lil burnt but we are very hungry and
We just wanna get out of there. It was freezing cold. The greenhouse was wide open both sides. The heater dont really do anything, it was a small heater with low power. They don't warn guest about the condition of the greenhouse. Like the other restaurants that will call guest knowing that they are not able to warm up the place properly. They will call to ask you to dress up or cancel the reservation.
Overall I wasn't satisfied and not planning to comeback at all. If the food was really good at least I would. Not worth every penny. I cant help but to compare the burger to fastfood ones at least they have a juicy and soft patty.
Note: We were wearing winter jackets but still too cold to endure it. We were shivering.
Great ambiance and service, especially considering current covid restrictions. Fair to average food, especially given the price.
We ate here in February and had a very good experience. Unfortunately the recent COVID restrictions have now required the restaurant to open up two sides of the greenhouses. This now makes life very difficult. We felt like we were eating in a wind tunnel- very cold. Could not recommend dining under these conditions again until temperatures warm up.
Service, ambience and food was great but I think the $50 per person a little steep considering it is a burger & taco casual type offering.
The concept of individual greenhouses was nice and felt safe in our "bubble" The main courses were disapointing however and more like concession food than a restaurant. Burgers and Tacos mostly. I asked for salmon with a salad, but it was a tiny piece and overcooked and dry. It was obviously same piece they used for the salmon burger. I had the same thing at their restaurant last year and it was a regular salmon fillet, beautifully cooked. They also offered grilled chicken with salad.
If they want to charge $50 and have repeat customers, thy will have to rethink the menu.
Great location, good food. Physical set-up well structured to accommodate COVID requirements.
Food was good, nice ambience in the little greenhouses.
The ambiance and service was fantastic
First restaurant dining-out experience in over a year! Made an exception for our anniversary, and very glad to find an experience that's so covid-conscious. Food was good and staff were exceptional!
Green Houses were nice!
Loved all of the various dining options - in a hothouse, around a fire pit, by a Bar overlooking the ocean...
Great presentation and taste of food!!
Server was very friendly. A long wait between appetizers and our lunch and it was stone cold. Fish in my taco was cold as were fries on my friends plate. Server did discount 20% from the bill but it took away from our experience and the lovely setting. Not sure I’d go again.
It was a lovely dinner out! First in a year! Poured rain all day and the greenhouse was cozy and with nice decor.
I was blown away by the tuna poke appie! and the rest followed.
Thank you for making our anniversary special.

We had brunch in one of the greenhouses. Food and service was awesome! Would definitely go back a.
Birthday dinner, the food was very good although I was expecting a different type of menu with a set meal. It was very casual, burgers, fish & chips, salads. For $50 perhaps a bit pricey for this menu. Otherwise the food quality and flavours where excellent.
It was awesome we had a birthday brunch there and it was lovely and quiet inside the greenhouse - totally worth it
Lovely way to enjoy a meal. Good food and wine selection
We are still reluctant to dine as a family inside a restaurant so the greenhouses at the Boat Shed seemed like the perfect option. I had read some reviews that praised the setting but not so much the food (for the fixed price) so we were prepared to just enjoy the ambiance and put up with the food. We were happily surprised that the food was very high-quality and delicious. Yes, some of it is 'pub food' but it is prepared perfectly and everything was excellent.
Fun way to dine close to beach! Food was good.
I celebrated my mother’s 65 birthday, the service was outstanding and place so cozy and beautiful ! We will be back soon
It was terrific food and very nice servers. I wish the greenhouses weren't right at the parking lot as it kills a bit of the ambiance of them, especially with the park right there. Next time I'd probably just go with one of the firepits to sit around. But overall what a terrific place for a nice, casual meal.
We enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch— excellent service , exceptional ambiance, delicious food and wine! Bravo Boatshed— well done! We felt tremendously pampered and excited to revisit again soon! This is an ideal location for intimate dates.
