   The location of the buffet is usually upstairs, on the east side of the hotel. It's currently under renovation and as a result have opened a temporary location on the lower level adjacent to the Starbucks coffee. The seating is tight and doesn't feel very inviting. I believe it's actually a converted hallway of the hotel. The buffet isn't very large, which consisted of cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, sliced fruits, salmon locks, bagels, toast, mini waffles, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and maybe a couple of other items which elude me at this time. I really don't think that the $30. price tag justifies the setting or selection. I don't think that I'll be back to this brunch, but I'm looking forward for the opening of the new restaurant in April.

   This hotel dining facility has been set up while rennovations to the usual lounge and dining spaces are underway. Unfortunately, the result reflects the ad hoc nature of the facility. Staff try, but were confused and error prone, missed some of the ordered items and the whole thing really didn't work very well. While the temporary set-up allows the hotel to offer an in-premises dining facility, service is slow, process is chaotic, space is cramped and claustrophopic, and even the quality of the food missed the standard we have formerly enjoyed in the permanent facilities. We tried it again for Sunday breakfast and sadly found it consistent with our earlier Friday evening experience. Hopefully once the newly revamped facilities open, the former standard for quality and ambiance will return.

   We went for a Sunday breakfast brunch for my birthday. Little that I knew that this restaurant was so small and most importantly the food was cold. Very disappointing. PS. Nothing special on your birthday at this place

   Not our best Fairmont experience. It seems the restaurant is under renovations and they've relocated temporarily to a hallway. No windows, no ambience, terribly loud and the menu choices weren't very good. Lots of bar-type food rather than restaurant food. Disappointed with our date night.

   When I talked with the food and beverage personnel who phoned me back after I inquired about a reservation, they said the Rimrock was under renovation and turkey supper was being served in a “pop up” restaurant with the Boulevard. I asked if it still had a Rimrock type ambience and was told yes it did..... No it does not. It’s a brightly lit hallway with tables on either side that runs beside the Boulevard bistro. Not very nice. Food was good though. Wish they’d been honest about the locale. Would have gone to a different hotel for thanksgiving supper if I’d have known.

    The restaurant wasn’t busy but it took 10 minutes for drinks to be served at the table and order food. Helpful waiting staff, but no atmosphere. Ordered gluten free pancakes which were average at best.

    There was no ambiance at all which took away from the dining experience. The food was good except for the “in-house made” cheesecake which tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. A little disappointing overall.

    We came here for my fiance’s birthday and ended up leaving. The OpenTable website didn’t indicate that the original space is under renovation, so the restaurant has been relocated to a hallway. The menu on OpenTable was also completely different from the one they gave us; we came expecting an upscale meal and the menu we were given was more of a pub menu. The server and manager were very apologetic and comped my wine. I don’t think that it was their fault and I felt bad they were in that position. They offered to make some items from the original menu for us, but the kitchen wasn’t able to anyways. I’m sure the food on the new menu is great, but we were expecting something completely different for a special occasion. It was just disappointing that the OpenTable website wasn’t accurate.

    Always enjoy the Palliser Rimrock Room Sunday Brunch! The menu has shrunk and the quality increased to "As Good as it Gets" levels. Alas, it will shut shortly for a complete overhaul for some six, or more months... not sure that The Golden Arch has the ability to fill the void... ;)

    Always look forward to dinner on our wedding anniversary here every year. This year it was busier than usual so we weren't as looked after as we normally are. We had our wedding at the Palliser in 2010 and made it a tradition to eat our anniversary dinner there every year.

    We took my father here for his 90th birthday. It was the perfect location. Quiet enough for conversation, an excellent brunch buffet and attentive service. They even brought him a birthday dessert with sparkler.

    My husband received a gift certificate for the Rimrock for Fathers Day. We had not dined there for some time so we’re looking forward to it. We were not disappointed. The quiet elegance surrounded us as we were seated at a corner table. Service throughout the meal was excellent. The menu had good choices and the wine list was varied. We both had Cesar salads to begin. They were the best we have ever had. For our main course we both chose duck breast and substituted ploenta for roasted potatoes....excellent choice. The duck was succulent and the fois gras superbe. Our desserts were scrumptious. We apired the meal with Amarone Zenato, our favourite wine. It is a bit pricy at this venue but we chose it despite the price. We were very happy with our evening. It reminded us of our wedding here few years ago.

    Our server, Casey, was very professional: friendly and attentive. Our dinner was delicious. I had the tuna starter and the lamb main. My partner had the beef tartar and the sirloin steak. Everything was delicious and we vowed to return.

    Brunch at the Fairmont Palliser is now a tradition in our family when we celebrate anniversaries or any other special occasion. There's a variety of food offered at the restaurant that would satisfy just about every taste. Ambiance is quiet with some well chosen music and thus allows you to enjoy the experience as well as the company of friends and family.

    The restaurant is looking quite tired and in need of a face lift. Sunday brunch used to be impressive but has fallen a long way back. Too few serving staff mean long waits and forgotten orders. The food that was there was good and well cooked. Quite sad really.

    We selected the Rimrock as we were staying at the Fairmont as a small group and wanted a flexible choice for lunch (actually late brunch) before travelling on Sunday evening. The staff were attentive and friendly and a good range of food was available to suit more and less adventurous tastes. We particularly enjoyed the shrimps and the Alberta rib roast.     Wow! lived in Canada 10 years and best meal I’ve had. Simon our server was fabulous and the right mix between attentive and giving us privacy. We were staying in the hotel as a birthday treat for my partner and he was wished happy birthday and given a slice of birthday cake for desert. Food was incredible and really good size portions. The tuna was AMAZING Can’t say enough. Compliments to all staff.

    The Palliser used to shine at brunch but I don't think I have ever been so disappointed in a brunch. Yes, there was seafood, but it was all served chilled - the scallops were as close to frozen as they could be. The cooked salmon was warm at best and the chicken in mushroom sauce was cold. The Eggs Benedict had solidified Hollandaise and hard yolks and both ladies in our group described them as disgusting. We couldn't mention it to our server because we never saw her. Our water was empty, our coffee was empty, and she never came by. The foods I mention were replaced with hot items after we had already tried to get through our cold food. Not once did anyone ask us how it was. The Palliser is still charging the big dollars for their brunch but the spread was much less exciting than it used to be, and if you are offering less, you should likely charge less. Perhaps there is a reason the Rimrock was empty.

    Absolutely AMAZING experience. We took my mother and law for her birthday brunch and we all loved it.. and over ate!! The only thing I would say; they brought over a birthday dessert with a sparkler on it without us asking which was so nice of them! However once we got the bill they had charged us for the dessert... even though the dessert table included in the buffet had everything you could ever want!

    Waitress was excellent. Disappointed there was no "well done" roast beef - what was available was far too rare for me. Expected there to be more selection based on previous visit here and at the Banff Springs. Salmon was excellent; wife really enjoyed salmon and scallops.

    It’s an excellent place to celebrate special occasions. The ambience is beautiful and relaxing, the food, especially the desserts are delightful, and the staff are great. The music is okay, but I prefer a live piano music. Overall, it was an amazing experience!

    We had a lovely table near the fireplace for breakfast. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience with jazz music playing at a low level, making it easy to cary on a conversation. Our server was very attentive and our food arrived promptly. While the food was tasty, the prices seem a little high, but not really surprising for this level of hotel.     The food was very good but surprisingly there was no fruit salad except for cut pieces to be dipped in chocolate at the dessert station. My dining companion had the cod which was bland. Compared to the Carriage House Sunday Brunch, the Rimrock had less variety for $12.00 more. What you are paying extra for is the ambience which is incomparable to in any other venue in the city. For a special occasion, have brunch at the Rimrock while enjoying the outstanding decor.
