   This was a perfect spot for a pre-theater dinner...good choices for "not too heavy before theater" dinner. Good choice in appetizers and variety of entrees, sandwiches and salads. Service was courteous and prompt!

   Had the fish and chips. They were a more reasonable portion size than you typically get many places. The batter was delicious. We stopped in early before a show and didn’t feel rushed. Even had time for dessert and coffee. The employees were all very nice and friendly. Will add this to the list of places to eat when in town.

   This was the first time my wife and I ate at The Tavern. Our Humus appetizer was tasty and nicely presented with various vegetables and warm pita. My wife's pear salad was well prepared as was the chicken that was added to it. My home made vegetable burger was delicious as were the fries. We certainly will go back there.

   Great find in Hells Kitchen. Great service and typical Irish tavern food which is sometimes all you want. No need to shout- noise level is good, and you can actually have a conversation

   In NYC for a show. Had a quick bite with the girls at the Tavern before, just around the corner from the Al Hirshfield Theater. Food and drink selections were plentiful and tasty. Fish tacos, pear vodka seltzer, chicken sandwich and chardonnay from the regular menu, and egg& avocado toast from the Saturday brunch menu. All were wonderful. Staff was attentive without hovering. The only thing I would mention is that their doors do not open until 12. So if your res. is at 12 you MUST wait outside and WON'T be seated early. Not a big deal unless it's a rainy day and you forgot your umbrella! (I may or may not be speaking from experience! Hahaha!)

   This restaurant within walking distance of the Theatre District was perfect for this solo diner. I did not feel uncomfortable at all dining alone. The generous portion chicken marsala was delicious and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to return to this restaurant. It appeared to have a nice mix of tourists and locals.

    Our pre-theater dinner was delicious! Service was excellent and dinner was served very quickly. Portions were a decent size. The fries were quite savory. The only downfall is that it was very loud, but that is the ambiance of a pub!

    Nice ambience and friendly service. Food came out quickly. Great cocktails (brazen signature cocktail) and pretzel was so yummy. Fish tacos were pretty good! However, the taco shell was very greasy. I would definitely come back!

    Made our visit with 8 people post matinee. Service was very good and our server, Emma, was friendly and attentive. Food was good to very good...typical pub fair. My only complaint is that the TVs were very loud. Everyone in our party wanted to WATCH the football games but really wasnt necessary to HEAR the games...especially with all the commercials.     Great little place. Was very busy. The lady who served us was excellent. However overall food experience was poor. Food took a while to arrive and was cold. As we were hungry we ate what we could and left.

    I live in the area and have been in this bar quite a few times. However on the couple of occasions I was there during December there were no staff on the floor to cover the number of diners in the bar. On two occasions there was one girl trying to cover the whole floor on her own. Putting her under significant pressure and causing huge delays to the service. The bar itself is nice, food is decent and the staff are friendly. Fix the staffing issue and this would reflect in better ratings.

    Walked with elderly parents a long way to restaurant after making reservation and getting confirmation texts just to find it wasn’t open. Bartender inside cleaning glasses couldn’t be bothered to come to door to tell us what was the status. Doors locked yet lights on and person inside walking around ignoring us at the door. Just plain rude and inconsiderate. No sign on door explaining why not open or anything else. Google also showed open at the time (3:15 pm on Monday afternoon) Thx for nothing.

I was advised that due to staffing issues the bar was due to open later on that day, again this is no excuse for nobody contacting you in advance to advise you of same.     This place was super cozy during the holiday season. They have a fire place in the back and decorations everywhere. I loved the music they played, some fun throwback classics (and the volume was not too loud). They have a nice menu with salads and sandwiches, which you don't find at every bar. We had to make a show that evening and they were able to get us our food/check in a timely manner. Will definitely return if I am in the area.

    Service staff were excellent. Food delish except for one meal out of 8. Management should have not charged for that meal. Other than that , we would definitely return.

    Great bar and grill. We stayed at the Intercontinental Times Square and the pub was only a couple of minutes away. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and good pub grub. What more so you need.

    The food was amazing but the service was not. We barely saw our waitress. If it wasn't for the young man that was working, we wouldn't have gotten have the stuff we needed!

    First timer. Loved the music selection! Had requested an outdoor table (there were only two 2-seaters) with my reservation and the hostess made it happen quickly. Service was a little slow, but pleasant. My first beer (Merman IPA) was pretty flat, but due to slow service, I just ended up drinking it. The Goose Island was better. My daughter ordered a Brazen Burger and really enjoyed it, along with the fries. I ordered a flatbread that was supposed to have goat cheese, along with a fig jam, pears and arugula. The cheese on it was definitely not goat cheese - more like melted mozzarella, kind of hard and chewy and not great. Kind of chintzy with the pears, too. Overall, not a good choice, and not worth $18. If we weren't rushing to get to a show, I would have sent it back. I would give this place one more try, due to the friendly service and tunes, but probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

    Home fried potatoes cold, one totally wrong order, got changed but was done wrong. Never checked at the table after food delivery while the place only had some people at the bar. Very disappointing.

    As far as we could tell, The Brazen Tavern has not been open long. (I say that because there was not a lot of information on the Open Table site when I was looking for a restaurant.) We had an early reservation (4:15ish), and for a half hour or so, we were the only people there, but more patrons arrived as it grew later. The menu is small, but once we started to examine it carefully, we had a hard time choosing from several enticing options. Among the three of us, we had pretzels (very good), nachos with grilled chicken (very good), a burger and fries (very good), and both Irish and Shepherd's Pie meatballs (really good).     Very nice casual restaurant in the theater district. A friendly staff who was constantly checking on us. We shared a nice watermelon salad to start. We both had burgers. They were made the way that we ordered them. Good place to remember when we are in that part of Manhattan
