The event center was closed when we got there and obviously they don’t coordinate with open table because I thought you had a reservation and there was no one there. I called the manager to let them know complain I never received a call back.

My husband and I have celebrated many happy occasions here for the last 43 years. One of our landmark favorite restaurants that never - ever- fails to deliver. We’ll be back and are looking forward to that lucky day. Thank you, Kim, for a lovely evening.

We loved the waitstaff, very congenial and helpful . The food was not special, although the prices were especially high. Shrimp appetizer still half frozen, the lobster in the salad extremely small and salty, lettuce wilty and wet. The charcuterie looked tasty, the hamburgers and crab cakes were good.

Disappointed in the appetizer plate. Missed the smoked salmon and the liver pate. Had to be moved twice due to wobbly tables. The wine we selected - they didn’t have. Overall food was just not as good as it used to be. We had been coming yearly for the past 25 years for our anniversary. We’re the only ones there. The staff were SUPER nice and friendly though!!

Kelli, she is the Excutive Chef. Kelli runs this establishment. People they have many options here. Focused on catering big events. They still do meals during the week and Sunday brunch is amazing. A fruit cup welcomes you with a very delicious pastry tray. The service was amazing. Priced very well. Dont hesitant to book big company events to weddings. I would give them five stars. Keith & Nancy

This was the first restaurant I have ever walked out of. We were made to wait 2 hours, with only drinks and appetizers served. Our waitress, Bonnie, was nowhere to be seen. The poor hostess came over to get us drinks, and she was so overwhelmed, she was actually shaking!! The waitress finally noticed us when we were literally in the parking lot where she ran after us and proceeded to insult us. This was supposed to be a Mother's Day dinner. Very disappointing.

Enjoyed the Mother’s Day Dinner! Love the fireplace in the bar and the cozy beginning to our special evening. We were seated in the main dining room and started with the Brairwoods famous shrimp cocktail and appetizer tray! So good to share with a group! Just enough to go with the wine before the entree! Between our group we had the filet, delicious prepared as ordered, crab cake small plate was large for an entree, spring ravioli with asparagus, and the big wow! the lobster salad with a fried egg!! Service was so thoughtful and accommodating! Made our Mothers Day 2018 a memorable fun time!

We waited over an hour for our food to come. My son's order looked like it sat under the warming lights that entire time before it was served. We have dined at the Briarwood many times in the past and I think this was our last.

I have gone to this restaurant for Mother’s Day for three years now. We had reservations for 1:30 and we where told that they where running late. My party didn’t get seated till 2:50. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We didn’t get our food for another hour and a half. It was such a long wait. For s reservation at 1:30 we didn’t get out of the restaurant until 4:50. It was supposed to be a stress free zone for Mother’s Day . I just wanted a nice day with my grandma and family due too the fact that I just lost my mom of cancer 2 months ago and this was my first mother’s day without her. It just had a hard day to being with and my experience there just made it harder.

Place was very disorganized. Waited 20 minutes for the host to even check us in. There were about 10 parties waiting to check in. There were lots of empty tables. Then we waited about 40 minutes to get seated. By then I was so mad , we left and went somewhere else, where they sat us right away

We went for Mother's Day and was our first visit to the restaurant. It had been recommended in the past as a place to go for special occasions. The service was good, the ambiance was lovely, but the food was mediocre. The pastries and fruit were all very good, but our main dishes were so-so. The "poached" eggs in the eggs benedict were overcooked to the point of being hard boiled eggs. The food felt overpriced for the quality. I don't think we'll go back.

I am happy to say the brunch pastries have improved after a disappointing few years. The restaurant was unprepared for the Mother's Day crowd and we waited for 50 minutes despite our reservation. Service was friendly but uneven time-wise. My family enjoyed the experience and the food was good, however there were many disgruntled customers. The hostess seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed.

Very disappointed as we have dined at the Briarwood for 15 - 20 years. They were understaffed (Mother's Day) and couldn't seat 40 people waiting when we could see five or six tables that were empty and not bussed. It also seems you get less for the money each time we visit. We will miss the Briarwood.

We were very disappointed....the hostess station was almost nonexistent with the poor untrained girl running around setting tables etc. ignoring the line of people out the door and unable to help anyone. Where was management? They advertised heavily for Mother’s Day so you’d think they’d be prepared. This restaurant used to be our go to place for special occasions but not anymore.

The wait staff was very slow. They left table un-bused while guests waited in the lobby. The Chef was not flexible with egg type. Everything was a poached egg. This use to be a favorite place for brunch. I will not go back.

We were there for a birthday/ Mother’s Day. 11:30 reservation, 20 minutes wait for table, no service for 30 minutes, finally got order taken, no water glasses filled, server ignored us. Finally got food at 1:45. Soggy French toast, limp bacon. Rest of entrees mediocre. Worst experience ever. Only positive note: we were not charged. Sad, as I used to love the Briarwood.

Made reservations on Open Table for a Mother's Day brunch for my wife. We arrived at 10:55 for our 11:00am reservation. Were told to wait in the bar. At 11:15 went to ask on status. They promptly seated us. At 11:30 no wait staff had appeared. No one seemed to be assigned to our area. Stopped a waiter and asked if they would find our waiter. Waiter appeared about 5 minutes later and took our order (about 11:35) for two meals of about $36 each. By 12:20 our food had not arrived and our waiter did not provide any estimate of when it would be available. We left. As we left I tried to stop by the reception desk, but there were so many people waiting to be seated it was impossible to get anyone's attention. The inn is beautiful. Our waiter seemed to be doing the best he could. The overall experience was extremely disappointing. Many similar poor reviews on Yelp. Too bad - the Briarwood Inn used to have a great reputation for service and food, but the new owners seem to not have their act together.

First let me say, my family loves the Briarwood. On Mother's Day this year they were completely slammed! 3 of 4 of us had great meals. Mine was so so because it tasted like instead of fresh crab on the crab benedict, they may have used canned crab. I was disappointed. The service was great and the restaurant is lovely.

For an "event center" the kitchen was extremely slow. The entire process from start to finish was almost 2.5 hours and we were one of the first tables in the AM. If you have a choice and time, pick another location. Not worth the wait.

Early mother's day event. Had reservations for mothers day had to change to Saturday night. Changing reservation was easy. No fuss. Arrived at appointment time. Noticed that the restaurant was not very busy. A little bit irritated as my wife had foot surgery and had to wait for someone to come to the front to seat us. Of course they asked right away if we desired drinks. Ordered wine. Took a little time for the waitress to acknowledge us. Finally she did come and we ordered-Asked for the appetizer tray to start. They did bring the wine fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the appetizer tray took a little longer-too long in my opinion. Appetizers were certainly very, very good. Again it seemed like it took forever for them to bring our entrees. They finally arrived and I must say they were absolutely amazing. Could not find any fault with the chef's creations. Ordered espresso. Waitress came back and advised that the espresso machine was broken. Asked if we would like coffee. Asked them to put coffee in an espresso cup and I would try and be happy. Ordered dessert. Dessert was amazing. Had to take some home. Good company made up for the little dings-wait, wait, wait. But the food was outstanding.

This had been a favorite dining place for special occasions for years. We expected some changes, but not to the extent we found. The appetizer tray survived, but some of our favorites were missing - the pate, and I seem to recall something wonderful involving cucumbers. The replacements were not nearly as exciting. Everything is now a la carte, and the appetizer tray alone is $39. Admittedly, you get a lot of food, especially if just two of you are sharing. The entree menu is considerably smaller with few things that appealed to us. We both chose the beef items. My husband chose the filet mignon, and I had the ribeye. It could have been my failing to pay attention to detail, but I did not expect mine to be floating in a bowl of au jus. It was almost too salty to eat. When asked how things tasted, I did tell the maitre 'd, and he offered to replace it, so I don't fault them for that, but I did not request a replacement. My husband's was a bit too salty, too, but not as bad, and he ate all his. There is no dessert menu, and the wonderful fruit plate is no longer offered. Dessert profferings that night were tirimasu or flourless chocolate cake. We settled for coffee and called it a night. Everything has been pared back so much, as this is now more of an event center than a restaurant, that I would no longer recommend it unless you check out the menu first and make sure there is something that will appeal to you. It is still such a lovely place as far as the ambiance and service goes.

Open Table sent me an email saying the restaurant cancelled the reservation, which turned out to be not true... So we didn't go. Then we got other emails from Open Table confirming we were seated, and another asking how we liked it. The restaurant needs to investigate what Open Table is doing 'cause we didn't get to go!

We got a babysitter and made reservations to use a gift certificate someone had given us. I was not aware that Briarwood is not usually a dinner restaurant. We arrived feeling good, hungry and excited to finally have a night away from our children. Shortly after beginning the crab cake appetizer, 5 or 6 bites in, I stopped eating… I usually loves crab cakes but this didn't taste right. My husband wasn't particularly fond if it but kept eating. I started feeling sick and rapidly became ill during the course of dinner. I managed to have 3 or 4 bites of my hamburger and didn't order a second glass of wine (highly unusual for a date night). My husband told me he felt flushed and queasy, not finishing his scallops. It was all I could do to maintain my composure by the time we left the restaurant. We both felt sick and cancelled the rest of our date night which began with us both feeling very good. No exposures to any sick people or children. Rest of the night spent feeling lousy at home. Completely recovered by the next afternoon. I’m concerned it was the food at the restaurant. We called to let someone know and the hostess put the chef on the phone. The chef defended the food saying, “there are other people enjoying the crab cakes right now… its not the food”. Hopefully no one else reports similar symptoms. Looking back, I wish we would have gone somewhere else that routinely serves dinner. Also, the restaurant was pretty empty and overpriced. Unfortunately, we wont be returning.

The Prime Rib on the Bruch menu was indeed "Prime" and very generous. A large fresh berry dish awaited us upon arrival. The fruit was nice and ripe and excellent. The champaign was good and replenished as often as asked. The service was pleasant and timely and was provided by a friendly young woman . Overall, a great meal on a Sunday morning in a pleasant atmosphere. We will return often.

I really hate what I am about to say because, in the past, The Briarwood has always been a favorite place. Where to start.... the food was served cold, two members of the party ordered eggs Benedict with the prime rib. The meal arrived without the eggs. When we brought it up, we were told that there were no eggs with that order. My meal was cold and served without the sauce. The wait person appeared to be new to the job and forgot certain, simple requests. I can’t say we will ever return.
