   Never a bad experience at The Buck! Food is delicious (bring your appetite) and the ambience is great! Wonderful service always!! Highly recommend the Oysters Rockefeller, the Crab Cakes with mustard sauce, Crab Imperial and the Fried Shrimp!!

   We went for Mother's Day Brunch and were very happy that we made reservations at The Buck Hotel. We were seated upon arrival (even though we were early for our reservation) Our waitress, Amanda, was attentive and very pleasant. The food was delicious and what a nice surprise the "dessert tray" was!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return and recommend The Buck Hotel to our friends & family.

   I'm so disappointed in the Mother's Day brunch we just had this morning. The eggs were powdered, the bread tray was pastry from the store. We were one of the first tables seated, so I was shocked when my wife's eggs Benedict came out cold. Just a horrible meal. I had wanted to go to this brunch for YEARS! Let's just say we had to go to the McDonald's drive-through after we were done. 😞

   Not servers fault but long intervals of no contact. Bread basket $5 came after salad and soup. Should have been compt’d for the late serve. Failure to serve paid for bread basket fast is a major fail. Ordered a final drink but I guess it was missed as I never received it. Not charged but I ordered a drink that was acknowledged but never came. Vegetable serving with entree was luke warm but replaced quickly. Main meals excellent with a nice dessert. I really enjoy coming there and just want to pass feedback for improvement to help them stay in business!

   I took my boyfriend there for dinner. The food was excellent. I had the salmon. Boyfriend had crab cakes. Nothing but great food, the waiter was very polite, excellent service from him. No negative when it comes to the service either. I do feel when you order a dinner, rolls should be included. Or mention that the rolls aren't so you can order with dinner.

    Everything was outstanding, the food, ambiance and waitress where all outstanding and will be coming back. The only thing that I could say that was negative is young children where playing and jumping off the steps in the restaurant without parental control, the manager and waitress both told them to please not play or jump on the stairs before someone gets hurt

    I had the swordfish and my friend had flounder francaise. We started with the fried shrimp appetizer and ended with carrot cake. Everything was really delicious. The mashed sweet potatoes were so yummy! Service was great.

    The food was delicious. Sadly, I was not happy when the bill came. The menu stated prices were higher due to inflation, I understand that. But then, there was an economic service charge for approximately $13 added to bill and they also charged more for using a credit card instead of cash. I will not go back to the Buck hotel for any more dinners. We were celebrating my parents 65th wedding anniversary

    Fabulous brunch menu! Had the big buck bloody, which was delicious. I had a difficult time picking a meal so my friend and I shared the berries & waffles and the brunch bomb- picture perfect t (next time I’ll take a pic!!!) and soo yummy! Joey our waiter was phenomenal as well! Can’t wait to go back!

    Despite there being hardly anyone in the dining room the service was very slow. My seafood dish was very good but my wife's braised short rib was not good at all. The meat was tough and the sauce was bland. There were bread plates on the table but when we asked about the bread we were told it would be an additional $5.00 charge.

    Great seafood! Craving fried oysters which very few restaurants offer if not near the Jersey shore. Came for late lunch on a Sunday, the special shrimp Bloody Mary is delightful. Service was slow but helpful. On-site seafood market offers great takeout. Only negative comment…carpet in fireplace room needs updating. Front porch is great.

    Limited choices for brunch. I went before and there was a buffet ( I guess since COVID) that went away. The food was delicious but more chives would have been better. Our waitress was wonderful. Very attentive

    Went to the Buck Hotel for dinner on a Friday evening, after a very long time since our last visit. We had reservations for two people. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entry. Our server came over to us right away to take our drink and appetizer orders. She was friendly and very pleasant. Appetizer was delivered in a timely manner, and our main courses arrived after a decent interval. We ordered the filet mignon and the scallops. Both dishes were excellent, and prepared correctly to order. Very good. We didn't have room for desert. The only negative was the ambience. The dining room has overhead speakers playing one type of music, while the bar, which is open to the dining room, plays another, so the sounds clash creating a rather dissonant background along with the loudness of the bar patrons. Other than this our meal experience was pleasant, the food excellent, and the staff very good. Yes we will go back.

    My friend and I have been here many times. Our entrees were especially good, chicken Kiev and risotto was delicious. The portions are plentiful. I guess I’m just put off by the $5.00 charge for bread. The prices for entrees are really high and I would think they would come with a small salad. Drinks in the dining room were $14.00 for a cocktail. Yikes! Our table was on the porch, which was nice.

    We definitely always return for the seafood. Bakery Basket was delicious!! We love getting this when we order a lot of seafood. Broiled Combination is one of our favorites! We always share it and get a second entree since it’s so much seafood! The seafood is always top quality and delicious. We also got the filet. Perfectly done medium with rice pilaf and asparagus. Service was good, and we really enjoyed the new porch environment. Highly recommend.

    We were celebrating our 46 wedding anniversary We waited a little long for our drinks not to bad We ordered our appetizers waited a bit my appetizer came out my wife’s did not I finished my appetizer and still my wife’s did not come out after finally getting the attention of the waiter and ask what was up with the appetizer, she went to check came back 5 minutes later and said it would be out shortly.my wife told her to cancel that order We then ordered our dinners after a while my dinner came out,again my wife was waiting,when it finally came out my wife told the server I don’t think this is right, he said that it was what was ordered, my wife told me that this wasn’t right, we got the attention of our waiter and she came over and looked and told us they brought out the wrong dinner,at that point we had had enough we asked for our check, the manager came over and said he would comp our bill I didn’t go there for a free meal, we picked this place to celebrate our anniversary. Really disappointed I don’t believe this is the norm we had had celebrated there before and had a great time

    Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food. I love the new closed in porch. It is a perfect for a cozy lunch or drinks with friends. Have to try their specialty cocktails and the clams casino is my absolutely favorite!

    Arrived on time for our Valentines dinner , got seated right away THEN waited at least 20 minutes before a waitress showed up ….. we noticed the waitress discussing over who was gonna take our table…needless to say when she came over we ordered our apps and drinks out of fear that would take forever… It also took way way too long to even get the water we asked for . Shame ….. And it wasn’t even that crowded…

    I have to pause my day to give accolades to The Buck. We come here for dinner once or twice a month and always leave satisfied. Because we come frequently Neil and Kim (the front of the house managers) know us by name. There’s something so welcoming when someone recognizes you and welcomes you back. We typically opt for the filet and crab cake because the Buck’s crab cake is beyond the best crab cake we’ve ever had. And we also frequent Maryland, so that eats a lot. I believe the dish is called “the buck stops here”. It’s definitely a special treat and never disappoints. We occasionally veer off course and try whatever the current fish special is. We always enjoy the fresh fish options. We also love love love the clams casino or raw oysters. I love a dirty martini while my wife loves a mule and always gets the American Mule which is made with Tito’s vodka. For sure come for a great night or or sit in the bar area and have a delicious beer and burger on a weeknight (another time we like to come). We also love a week night because it’s less crowded. Be sure to make a reservation if it’s a weekend evening!! They sure fill up.
