Great pub! We had pizza and wings and enjoyed both. Ashley was very friendly and helpful. Lots of great seats to watch the games. Good vibe.

Almost everything on the menu was sold out. The music was too loud for a dinner place. My cocktail wasn’t very good.

My husband and I made a dinner reservation during B&Bs "Black Lagoon" Halloween pop-up restaurant. We were in and out in about 45 minutes. The featured cocktails were pretty good, but the menu isn't terribly vegetarian-friendly, so I ordered the parmesan rosemary fries. As soon as they came to the table, I recognized them as the same dry, awful, shoestring fries that were served at a local ski hill I used to work at that I know are absolutely inedible. Waitress looked and acted dead inside. Their pinball machine ate my dollar. We wanted to buy one of their tiki mugs, but were told we couldn't because they "only had 4 or 5 left." We wrapped it up and left disappointed.

Went for the Black Lagoon Pop Up for Halloween. Ambience is 9/10. Drinks are ok for a pub/bar. I think the drinks and how they tasted are so subjective. My partner enjoyed them and I thought they were a bit watered down by ice. Friendly service and a great little stop got an after work drink.

Really cool pop up experience. Waitress was friendly. Music was super loud - hard to hear people even sitting right next to you. The Halloween drinks were backed up so it took awhile so I’d recommend as soon as you get your first drink, order your second one. Overall the experience was worth it to get in the spooky vibe.

We went for the Black Lagoon Experience and (I hate to say it) were disappointed. Never been to Butcher & Bullock before so was excited to try it out & had been looking at the Black Lagoon online for the last 2 years. The venue was awesomely decorated & the music was pumping...we thought great!!! Bar was pretty busy but we were practically the only ones dressed up in costume. How come none of the staff were in costume? Took away from the experience for sure! Bar Menu was kinda fun but 3 of the 4 drinks we ordered were not good enough to order another off the menu, plus too pricey for a just-ok cocktail. When we tried to order our 2nd drink we were told we could only order drinks from the menu but ended up ordering tequila shots, a margarita & a Strongbow. Waitress did not seem happy with us & our 2nd round took about 20 mins to arrive at our table so we asked for the bill & left Butcher & Bullock after only 1 1/2 hrs even though we came all the way from Surrey to participate in this long-awaited event. We are all in agreence that this event looked great but could be so much better if just a few details were tweaked...ie: all staff should be in costume (Halloween event)! & menu is too limited and pricey. Butcher & Bullock Staff need to be fully on-board and immersed in order for this event to be a success! Good luck next year.

I actually didn’t have any food, only drinks, that’s why I gave the food four stars. I’m sure it’s good. I came for the Black Lagoon popup and it was great.

LOVE the pop up, so fun, music was killer, servers were ON IT and although we came for the spooky drinks we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was (we had the chicken salad and the pork and kimchi pizza) Definitely would bring people back here if we didn’t live on the island!

I really liked the pop up! But the drinks are seriously overpriced, we each bought one of the theme drinks which are 16$ and they’re was barely anything.

Quite possibly it wasn’t a problem with the Butcher and Bullock but we were quite disappointed with the Black Lagoon pop-up. Felt like little more than any average bar decorated for Halloween. We just expected more. Drinks were okay, service was fine, not great. Trivia host was nice but I would have expected trivia during a Halloween pop-up to be more Halloween themed. I had made a reservation ahead of time and our table wasn’t great. Maybe everyone had reservations, idk but that was disappointing though. Food was great though, would absolutely recommend the food. Probably won’t come again, but won’t avoid it if someone I’m with wants to go.

Thought this was a pop-up bar, but it just turned out to be a bar with Halloween decorations. Drinks were so so and food was pedestrian. Overall, very disappointing and different from what I expected based on how the experience was presented.

Did a reservation but was told can sit anywhere? Drink was not made properly and redone okay. Food was more on too much salt side? Value for ambience was okay. Service was good though may mistakes on the bill. Repeat? Nah.

Pre covid, this was Vancouver's premiere venue for the fights, UFC & Boxing. Like seriously - THE Place. Then covid; fun fact: I was in Butcher & Bullock March 16, 2020, we all know what happened the next day I stopped in a couple times in the early days of being reopened - meh! Saturday's event was a monster UFC event and it was outstanding! During my time at The Butcher, there were some private events the meant I had to attend other venues, that was all good. But really cool to see them here now. And Saturday's event was a reminder why The Butcher & Bullock is Vancouver's premiere venue for the fights! See ya soon!

Service was terrible. Taking drinks from table before they were finished. Kept screwing up the bill(s). Takes one persons order from our table and scoots of before taking others orders. Watched the server take a shot and drink it from another table of guys. Etc etc

Unfortunately while the service was amazing and the vibe itself is chill, the drinks and food were less than good. The tofu avocado salad lacked seasoning and the poutine was like gravy from a can. Had a couple of drinks that unless they were draft, they were not mixed well and in the wrong kind of glass for the type. I would try it again, but I might not be able to convince friends. Steamed bun and dumplings were a pretty good mix into the menu, keep those!
