By far, the best steakhouse in the country. Period. I brought my wife, 13 year old son, and 6 year old daughter to celebrate the beginning of the new school year. We spared no expensive. The bill came to over $1000 and it was worth every penny. The ambience was modern and inviting, and didn’t feel like a stuffy “old boys club”. My wife and I ordered a bottle of red wine. We ordered the Seared Foie Gras (yes, my kids have fancy taste) .. it was decadent with its crispy golden exterior and luxuriously creamy interior - it was an indulgent symphony of rich buttery flavours! 👌🏼 Me and my son ordered the 6oz A5 Japanese Miyazaki steak 🥩 medium rare - both were cooked to perfection! It melts in your mouth with its buttery richness and exquisite flavour. My wife and daughter shared the 8oz PEI Canadian Prime Tenderloin - perfectly cooked to medium rare and delivered a sublime blend of juiciness and flavour that they both loved. We also ordered Yukon Gold fries (with beef fat) and the Sautéed Mushroom - both offered the perfect pairing to go with our steak. Thank you for the complimentary Tuna Amuse-bounche. The staff was top notch, friendly, noted our sons allergies to treenuts and sesame and were very accommodating. We will definitely be coming back here again - the whole evening was a series of unforgettable culinary masterpieces - our compliments to the chef and staff!

Both the service and food were outstanding. The wine list is a bit pricey but the selection is good. Quiet and elegant. For me, the perfect spot, for both business dinners and private moments.

Was a nice place to come back to again. This is my second visit and I would say it was good but not as good as my first visit 2 years ago. Food was good atmosphere and environment was beautiful. The only disappointment was the blooming onion side. We had ordered the table side bread, foie gras, oysters, rabbit, ribeye, jap waygu, and blooming onion. Everything was cooked to our liking and was presented beautifully. The only dish that did not taste or feel that luxurious was the blooming onion side. They had exchanged our utensils with every new dish and had the water refilled consistently. Server was knowledgeable about the different meats. This was to celebrate an event and they did provide a small compliment dessert for this occasion. They also provided a compliment appetizer at the beginning of our meal before our apps.

Apart from the difficulty in finding the restaurant, the food was excellent as was the service. A baby crying for close to an hour dampened our pleasure.

Food and service are top notch for sure. I do think the ventilation system in the restaurant needs a fix up. The only downside of the dinner experience is that we can smell kitchen odour from our seat

I’ve lived in Toronto for 40 years and dined all over the planet. There are steak houses in every major city including Toronto who have essentially the same menu and your experience will be based on service and timing of the food. The Butcher Chef is not a steak house, it is a culinary experience that just happens to have great steak and 20 other taste sensations created by chef Derek. Along with Mike, the owner, the two have created the best restaurant in Toronto and it’s not even close. Please don’t be shy if you are not a streak lover, their sprout salad and Dover Sole are exquisite. My last supper would be the waygu tortilioni with truffles. Please try The Butcher Chef. If you want a great wine make sure you connect with Steve the sommelier.
