You confirmed my booking, then I went to the restaurant and it was closed. I think you should update your site on what is actually going on, I mean open table web site. Basically I was in front of the place outside and it was not a good experience, since it was closed. What is truly amazing, is you are asking me about my experience. I have no comment about the restaurant, but Open Table sure sucks.
We embraced our last dinner out before second lockdown in Toronto. Staffs were amazing and food was absolutely delicious. We will be back again once reopens for dine in!
The best service, the best steak in the city!!! By far.
Steak was cooked perfectly, delicious food and drinks all around. Pricy, but you pay for the quality of food you receive. The service was outstanding.
Went for our 10th anniversary and hands down had some of the best food we've ever had. Expensive, but well worth the cost for a celebration dinner. Service was exceptional, the food was exceptional, the wine was wonderful, and we plan on going back for future celebrations.
It was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time. I loved the patio vibe and the service was impeccable. They made us feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you.
Amazing food. Amazing service, would highly recommend. Great for a date night.
Absolutely try their tasting menu - it is to DIE for! The nice thing is, for a small surcharge, they allow you to swap one or two things if you really want to try something else! Will be coming back, thanks for making our anniversary perfect!
1. Good atmosphere and decoration in the patio - feel warm if you sit beside the heater
2. Simple food presentation but all of them taste excellent - if you don't know what to try first, order the tasting menu
3. No menu for the tasting - changeable every week, so make sure you ask for the latest menu and price before you order (could be very different from the website)
4. No surprise dish for birthday celebration - wish they had something special..
Great service. Our waiter was very nice and was knowledgeable about everything On the menu.
We where undecided about getting bread and an other waiter just brought it for us to try, which was extra nice of her to have brought it for us.
While we were waiting on our steak to be done they bought over some little hor d'oeuvres and it was soooo good. I asked the one of the waiters if I can buy this during the week they said the chef makes different ones everyday.
The steak was mouth watering and soft to cut with a knife. Very juice and not over done.
We ordered drinks and mine was something that the bartender mixed up with my favourite grey goose it tasted so good. Also, the bartender mixed an espresso martini, which I saw at the bar and inquired he used my favourite grey goose to mix with it and it was on the house.
Lastly, the dessert. my favourite creme brûlée. They wrote Happy Anniversary and it was on the house.
Excellent service. Great time. Very friendly staff.
Was delighted they held our reservation although we were almost 30 minutes late. Staff was polite and knowledgeable, very attentive and personable. Started with cappuccinos, then moved on to the tasting menu with wine pairing, oysters and cheese plate. Food was wonderful, superbly cooked and plated beautifully. Wine accompany wasn’t exciting, a lot were fairly flavourless so the very small pours weren’t an issue (when typically I’d be upset with such tiny pours.) Cheese selection was uninspired, but was a good offering of traditional cheeses. Ambience was on point, especially given new Covid-19 restrictions and this being a patio. The only tarnish to the evening was the incredibly boisterous table of 6 seated very closely behind us whom did not wear their masks when in the restaurant (one guest was even seated, walking through the entire restaurant, without even having a mask!!) and continually yelled at staff for more shots, old fashioneds and paper planes while swearing up a storm. The staff handled it very well, however I feel it’s also staffs job to make their guests adhere to COVID-19 policies, so it was very disappointing to see them “getting away” with such poor behaviour.
Amazing food and services. Just a bit pricey
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They gave us a nice private table but because the restaurant is already so small it didn’t really give much for privacy. The food was good for the most part. We waited a long time for our food though and my steak was barely warm. Not the time of food or service you would expect from this type of place. The manager was pleasant and approached our table to acknowledge the issues. They comped our drinks and gave us free desserts. Overall it was good but for the price I can get better elsewhere.
Food was wonderful, staff were very attentive and helpful. Great place for a special occasion. Front door was a little challenging to find but worth the wandering to find it!
The food, atmosphere, and service at Butcher’s Chef was outstanding. The ONLY drawback here is the menu is a touch expensive and the alcohol cost gets ridiculous quick. We knew what we were getting into so not surprising, but lowered the “value” rating due to this.
Go for a nice date or business meeting!
One of the best steak I had since quarantine
It was amazing - every bite was wonderful and staff incredibly friendly and attentive.
We had a wonderful experience here as usual!! Excellent food and excellent service. Try the shrimp ceviche.
Incredible service! Our waiter Rebel made our night! Fantastic atmosphere and amazing food. 10/10.
Great service. Excellent steaks.
Great place to go for a fancy dinner! Indoor space smaller then expected but nice restaurant, great food and great service.
Steaks were a little over done. Salad portion quite small.
Very slow service, took an hour to get salad.
Came to butcher chef with a friend for lunch- I enjoyed fine dining with excellent service but I found the menu very expensive! I wanted to try the steak but the prices were beyond expensive!
Wonderful staff and exceptional dining!
Amazing food with wonderful service! Will be returning.
Great patio, service etc
Would recommend to everyone, I think it’s the best patio in Toronto
Opened up a beautiful patio. Very large area with a lots of space and in these Covid times lots of room between tables. Staff is well seasoned and all are wearing mask so we felt very safe. Classy restaurant with exception menu. Entire night was perfect. Has a natural overhang so is perfect for shade and inclement weather. Highly recommended.
The staff and owner were so wonderful! Great hospitality and amazing experience.
We ordered steaks medium rare, but they came overcooked. For the price we paid, we expected the chef knows how to cook a steak. We were very disapoined with steaks.
However, the service was excellent and we had a good dinner time.
Just thank you 😗
It was a great experience considering I have been to many steak venues. This was excellent!
Very unique and high quality food. Other than the wine pairing (unimpressive and very light on the pour), this was a real treat! Highly recommend
Food was amazing and staff is very attentive. The restaurant was packed but the service was not affected.
Steak was done to perfection. Will definitely go back.
Only wish you didn’t have to pay extra for sauces
I expected the food to be great and we were not disappointed. Octopus starter and 12 oz stripping literally the best ever. My wife had the crab thermidor which was excellent. I had not had Pheasant for years so we shared a main and highly recommend
Solid Nebbiolo wine and a couple of espresso martinis. All excellent. Great service and great management
Takes first place over Mortons and Hy’s which takes some doing. Combination of variety and quality of steaks and menus options other than beef. Also smaller quieter and nicer setting.
Our server was excellent and provided us with lots of information about the food and the venue. Definitely and great experience.
For a new restaurant, one would think that a glass of sparkling wine as a hello would be good. The portions are small and the seafood tower is really not a tower.I would go to Jacobs over this restaurant as value and quality is better!.Jacobs show there appreciation more to a customer
Treated very special from the moment I walked in, incredibly knowledgeable server and just a beautiful place. I went with the tasting menu and it was absolute perfection - best meal I have ever had in Toronto.
Amazing new steakhouse with lots of game meats. Every bite was delicious. The service and attention to detail was next level. Ambiance is about as high-end as you could get in Toronto. Will be back!!
Small place, pretty pricey but the food was outstanding. Probably the best steak I have had from a quality perspective.
Wine list is misleading (they don't have the wines they list or the vintage is different) and very expensive.
I'd come back for the food but bring my own bottle of wine.
