In the 70s Asian Fishermen that immigrated to the US Gulf Coast took the traditional Louisiana Creole inspired crawfish boil and enhanced the recipe. They added Asian aromatics to the boil - lemon grass, ginger - serving it with garlic butter and a blend of Asian spices. This created a crawfish boil that is full of unique flavors. The Captain's Boil is first in Toronto to bring you this fresh, flavorful, and fun experience. We take the freshest seafood, toss it in a blend of secret, Asian inspired spices and aromatics. We serve it messy to let you enjoy it in a fun and unique way.

Overall I really liked the Captains Boil. A few cons is there cocktail menu is very limited. No Caesars??? .. no coolers ... no ciders. I had a gingerale as I don't drink beer or mixxed shot drinks. If you have a liquor license seems negligent not to carry some sort of caned cooler or cider in this day and age. No fuss no muss! Everyone in our party wanted the assorted captains boil platter since it was our first time there but for some reason they only serve it until 4... that doesn't make any sense to me and could be a deal breaker for future visits. We opted to get 4 lbs of various stuff and had to share ... I don't like to share my food! It was ackward sharing. Addionally we couldn't add spice when sharing as not everyone likes that! The shrimps went very mushy as well as they sat in the bags waiting to be eaten! I would love to see an option to have just tail on shrimp as I don't think they would go mushy then and I would be willing to pay more to not have to peel legs and heads off. Now for some pros... the captain boils seafood rice is absolUtley delicious and a great price for what you get. The king crab and lobster although very pricey is really good! Wish I could have had with some kick. I loved eating with my hands out of a bag . It's a very unique experience and fun! Medium heat is very spicy as we did order on the rice since only my husband and I were eating that. The heat is incredible as is the Captains Boil flavor! (Outstanding actually! ) Overall a grear experience! (Oh another con is this establishment is not at all handicap accessible. My mom has to walk with a walker and the bathroom is 15 stairs down so people should be aware of that! Thank goodness she didn't have to go or Im not sure what we would have done) Now I also realise that I have written a lot of cons but like I said I really liked the place as it is a totally different concept of eating and the food is really good!... so that trumps the cons.

We decided to try this place out with some friends of ours. We got there about 7:30 on a Sunday night. We got seated right away. After ordering, our food came our quickly and was delicious. I'd recommend the snow crab legs, okra, corn, and fried rice. The potato was awkward to eat and under cooked, but no biggie. The crawdads were tasty, but a lot of work for little payoff. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and very clean.
