    Had a wonderful Christmas meal on the 23rd of December. Staff were friendly and made us feel very safe during these strange times. Was great to get out and feel 'normal once again. Many thanks.

    Always first class food, service and location. In covid times the tables are well spaced out and very clean with plenty of sanitizer on each tables.

    Overall good and service was very good. I had the lamb cutlets whick were very tasty, I could of ate a few more!! My wife had the Thai curry which was also very nice

    Drive into the hotel and restaurant via the gold course is pitch black at night and not in any way inviting. Surprised if there isn't the occasional accident the roads is so poorly lit. Some street lighting would go down well. Poor lighting and signage again walking from the car park to the restaurant. The staff were good and attentive and efficient. Starters and wine both very good but the main courses for both myself and my girlfriend were very average. My Rib Eye Steak was dry and seemed cheap and the chips were covered in salt. Overall a nice interior, good staff, and some reasonable food let down by a very uninviting drive past the gold course, poor lighting and main courses. I wouldn't go back to be honest. There is much better around for less cost.

    The high ceilings gave the place a refreshing yet cosy feel. Food and menu was delicious with good variety. Staff was helpful and professional. Overall a great and pleasent dinner.

    The restaurant was very nice open and clean The food was very disappointing It was my husbands birthday he had the steak 27€ it was dry and tasteless l had the grilled salmon it was dry and burnt there was watercress on the plate with the salmon and the plate was covered in oil my son had the burger it was dry All and all very disappointing meal

    The setting, the service, the food selection and quality was excellent. Four at our table had three different courses each and were all very satisfied with each course. It is a beautiful setting and staff service was excellent. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Thank you.

    Food cold, I had the Lamb and creamy mash, lamb cold and the creamy mash very cold ,Ii sampled it taste less . 5 family guests 1 meal was hot 1 was warm , the rest cold. Bad experience. I am a member approx 6 months before the O Meara course opened a loyal member a lot of money spent there. Not happy Brian Lalor

    We arrived on time for our meal. it was a bit difficult finding the place despite my familiarity with the location. It was a rainy night so a bit more lighting on the outside would have been good. We were greeted at the door, the mask-wearing rules were reinforced and our duration was iterated to us. We were shown to our table, we were served quickly, the waiting staff was very pleasant and courteous. We enjoyed the food. We had ample time, didn't feel hurried. we felt safe in the surroundings. No other customers were near us. I can only recommend it.

    This was our second experience of dining at the Carriage restaurant during COVID. It was relaxed. We felt perfectly safe. The staff were attentive and certainly not intrusive. The menu was different the second time which gave us a bigger choice which was brilliant. We are going again next week. Feels like our safe haven for eating out at the moment. Thank you Bernie

    My steak came out well done having asked for it Medium Rare. Then the replacement steak came out 25 mins later medium well, when my fellow diners had finished their meal. We ordered some whiskeys from the menu which we were told were published at the incorrect price, and were not in stick anyway. When we order a different kind we were again told the price on the menu was wrong. Not a good experience at all.

    Very easy to book, great covid safety measures in place. Service was excellent and could not have been improved. My only tiny remark would be, I had cottage pie and it was a little dry. Having said that I ate all of it!!!

    Great service, beautiful surroundings - unfortunately the food quality was underwhelming and bad value for money. Pity as I believe this location and restaurant could flourish with the right quality and value proposition.

    All staff members very helpful friendly and efficient .Lovely premises with plenty of space and a very nice ambience . the food was very good but there was a very limited number of vegetarian or vegan options on the menu. All areas very clean and plenty of hand sanitizer available.

    Well spaced out tables and felt very safe as every precaution taken. Good quality food but still a limited menu with no changes since last time... bottles of wine on the pricey side. We look forward to a broader offering when Carton open their other restaurant in the main building.

    Prefer the old menu, better and bigger selection, Pepper sauce - only corns barely any sauce, prices through the roof. Service was good, lovely lady Frank a took good care of us!

    Lots of issues with this place. Car park is a mess. Appalling surface, like something you'd see in a a 3rd world country. Waited a long time for our meals but perhaps this is understandable with Covid and staffing issues. What wasn't acceptable was bringing the adults their meals first while the hungry toddlers sat with no food in front of them for 20 mins. Food serving 101, bring everyones meals to the table at the same time, not 20 mins apart! Staff were OK. Decor is excellent. Simple food but the prices would suggest otherwise. Overpriced and underwhelming places like this will completely bomb during the recession. Give this place a miss and support a more reasonably priced, local, family run restaurant.

    There has been a very noticeable improvement in the quality of the service, quality of the food and appreciation of the customer. COVID-19 procedures are excellent, and all told we had a very memorable evening in The Carriage House. Well done, and keep it up.

    I was really looking forward to our visit to the Carriage House with new menu etc. The menu read lovely and great selection of dishes. Myself and my son ordered wings to start and he had Pasta for main, I ordered rib eye steak. Wings were absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately we went downhill from there. My son’s pasta was OK but my rib eye was very poor (think the cooking process rather than quality of steak). it seemed to me the steak was not fully freshly cooked. I decided to return it as I was not paying +25 for poor dish. I waited some time for waiter to notice my dish was unsatisfactory. Eventually I got sorted and ordered a burger instead. The burger came out within 10mins of ordering and tasted bit dry (again my prediction not freshly cooked to order). The manager came along and handled the issue very well, extremely apologetic and discounted steak etc. Would love to see this lovely location get the food right - everything else is in place. Will visit again soon to try get the right food quality.
