   First time dining since the new takeover have stopped for drinks a few times always lovely. Sunday lunch was absolutely superb I must say. Really enjoyable to dine with you, a table check sooner than later would of helped instead trying to get someone’s attention. Can’t fault it highly recommend and defiently be back!

   Great food. Some minor confusion over dog friendly pub only being friendly in non carpeted area. I understand the reasons but not highlighted on booking site. Slightly pricey, but not overly so as food all very good.

   The young staff needed a good manager. Unfortunately theirs walked out halfway through the shift when things started going wrong. Luckily the food was worth waiting for a we arrived at 12.30 and received food at 1.50.

   SLOW and DISORGANISED Having waited over 50 minutes for a simple meal for my grandson and I we left as other, larger tables were getting served ahead of us even though they arrived 20 minutes after us. I paid for my drinks - a complimentary drink for my grandson would have welcomed but it was not offered. It was extremely busy, that's why we waited so long. The service for larger, later parties upset us. A cold sandwich from the Co-Op (Asda by this time had closed) was a poor end to a busy day organising a charitable event. A meal at the Castle was going to be a reward to my Grandson for his help volunteering.

   The pub was very busy and the 2 young servers were run off their feet but managed to stay polite and helpful throughout It looked like everyone had booked a table for the same time as it took 45 minutes for our starters to arrive. One table walked out after an hour of waiting having seen the next table who arrived later, get their food first. When it arrived the food was good although the side order of vegetables was almost cold. Good value for money if you are not in a hurry

   Food was excellent but our portions were smaller than expected. I had a delicious beef dish with chips & my granddaughter had the same beef dish with a very small amount of rice. Otherwise it was excellent!

    The food was good value and excellent quality, but the only down side for me was the food on the plate was not hot enough, the separate veg in dishes were really hot. The pub was really busy and the staff were working flat out so perhaps that’s the reason on that particular day

    It was our first time at The Castle pub since moving to Caldicot from Bristol and we found it a charming pub, not loud, not overcrowded and nice choice of food and drinks. Will be bringing the family here when they visit next. Thanks

    V.limited veggie/vegan and Sunday lunch menu had changed to that showing online. Roasties frozen ones. Def not fresh. Wooden chairs not comfy had to change chairs for slightly padded ones.

    very nice pub nicely decorated with a good menu at reasonable prices. The quality if the food was very good with quick and friendly service. It is difficult these days to find pubs that serve good food at a reasonable price but this is one of them. A lot do not serve lunches any more. I have already recommended it to other friends and we will go there again.

    Sunday lunch was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. All the ingredients were extremely tasty and cooked perfectly. Meat was great quality and plenty of it. Service was also excellent with very friendly staff. Highly recommend

    Fish and chips were superb, best ever. Big fish, great chips and lovely batter. The special of pan fried rib of beef was just warmed up Sunday roast beef and mash. Disappointing unfortunately.
