Locally owned and operated for over thirty years, the Chart Room Restaurant offers an array of fresh seafood, steaks and more. Try the Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut while enjoying the expansive views of Frenchman's Bay in Hulls Cove. Nestled along the water's edge just two miles from the heart of Bar Harbor, the Chart Room is a classic Maine seafood dining experience that is a favorite of visitors and locals alike! With a full bar, plenty of outdoor seating, cozy tables for two as well as space for your large group gathering, the Chart Room has it all. Enjoy local oysters and cocktails while seated at our new pier, or dine inside on a 12oz prime rib while overlooking the changing tide. We take a limited amount of reservations so that way walk in guests are still able to join us. Our last lunch and dinner of the season will be on October 27th.

My husband ordered oysters on the half shell and a bowl of clam chowder. Both were excellent. I had an appetizer of whole belly fried clams and the whole steamed lobater. Both were excellent. The service was fabulous.

My salmon with rice and squash was very good. I thought their blueberry pie was the best compared to the other two restaurants we had been to earlier in the week.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Chart Room. After hiking all day at Acadia we were very tired and excited for some fresh fish dishes. I loved the clam chowder and halibut. Very nice ambience, great service and wonderful view!

Very odd experience. Everyone we met upon walking in treated us like aliens — it was pouring rain so we asked if they wanted us to put our soaking umbrellas somewhere away from the dining room — they looked at us like we demanded a chariot. The hostess read my allergies (some tree nuts) and looked at me like I was insane for leaving the house because they had macadamia nuts in the kitchen (I told her this would be okay unless it’s everywhere and the cooks don’t wash their hands. Hilariously enough, a salad was served at our table with many of the nuts that I am allergic to, but no warning). We then stood by the bar waiting for our table. After 10 minutes of talking, one of up turned to the bar to order a drink. Before we could say anything, the bartender scolded us that HE DOESNT SERVE DRINKS WHEN THE RESTAURANT IS FULL (there were 4 open seats at the bar, and 4 of us). We were eventually seated in their below area (no bathroom so be wary in the rain, also down a steep slope). Our server down there was much more, well, normal hospitality. The food was okay but because they boil the lobster and don’t really drain them, there was a ton of water. It was a bizarre experience and not a very exciting first meal in Maine. We have enjoyed coming to Acadia this trip and before — in the future, this will not be on our list — especially as someone with relatively run of the mill allergies. I don’t think this place has it together. Someone told us they have new ownership so maybe they are getting their sea legs.

We had high hopes for The Chart Room but we very disappointed. Their signature dish of Macadamia crusted Halibut w/lobster sauce was dry and boring. The seafood linguine looked good but quickly turned to a very gluey mess. The shrimp were tiny and barely noticeable. Service was fast and we were finished in less than an hour. Everything must be waiting under heat lamps to be served.
