The blueberry pie was amazing - best we had on the trip. Service was good - although the waitress never brought us additional drinks we ordered but didn't charge us either. The entrees were just so so - especially for the price. Our expectations were high as we had so many recommendations on it. We had the lobster stew, lobster rolls, lazy lobster and lobster pasta (do not recommend the pasta at all). Probably wouldn't go back if in the area again - but would get the blueberry pie to go!

We had dinner here. We unwisely had a big lunch, so weren't super hungry for dinner and couldn't take full advantage of this place. But we did have their version of cioppino (not soup broth but a chunky tomato sauce) with excellent mussels, shrimp, haddock and scallops. My husband had a cup of clam chowder that was very good. He also had a great blueberry pie (I had the apple crisp, which I recommend skipping). We had a great waiter, so overall, a good experience. They also have a nice outdoor area, but we were there on a rainy, cold night so most people were indoors. It would be great out there on a summer night, though.

We had reservations and were seated right away. Andrew was our server and he did a great job! My husband had French onion soup. He said it is the best he has ever ordered out. We had the seafood medley and the lobster newburg. Both were excellent! Then blueberry pie for dessert. It was the best blueberry pie! Great meal and great service! We will dine there again next time we are in the area.

The kitchen was extremely backed up while we were dining and the service was overall quite slow. Drinks took quite a while to arrive (after the wrong ones were delivered first). We ordered rolls to start that came with the meal 35 min later. Wasn’t super impressed but maybe we were there on an off day/time

Loved the experience of dining here. We were seated at the window and the view was beautiful! Service was fast and friendly (very kid friendly btw), and most importantly, the food was amazing. Highly recommend!

This was a rather touristy spot, but the food and drinks were delicious! Definitely worth a reservation when visiting Bar Harbor if you are looking for more of a traditional dining experience.

We went there due to ratings & scallops on the menu for me. We sat outside with a nice water view. My husband & I both got the scallops which were delicious & a good-sized portion. Vegetable side was root vegetables with potatoes & sweet potatoes Yet the other side is potatoes or rice. So, we upgraded to side salad which was very good. We were done by 7, but our dessert menu didn’t come till 7:25! Our waiter was very busy & seemed new. There’s a long extended seating area out over the water. When that emptied as it was getting dark, that waitress left. 2 women asked if they could be served out there & chose the most distant seats, about 100 feet away! Our waiter had to take care of them which only made his job harder. We were looking forward to the Apple crisp which came about 7:45. I wish we’d just left before or sent it back. They were out of the vanilla ice cream for it & it was terrible! It was like they poured apples from a can, threw in a tiny bit of unseasoned oats, & barely warmed it for $9. NOT what we’d expected after our great meal AND wait. We’d go back just no dessert.

While on vacation in Maine I can’t say that we’ve had a disappointing meal until The Chart Room. The atmosphere is family friendly and comfortable, which I can say we’ve enjoyed in almost all the restaurants we’ve been to in Portland and Bar Harbor. When we arrived the staff was friendly and attentive and that’s where I can say they’ve done a good job. I should have gathered things were not going to go well when we agreed to pay 5.00 for a bread basket, which they consider an appetizer and it did not arrive until the main meal was also served . Ummm appetizers usually come out first… The bread basket consisted of grocery store purchased rolls. Our main meals, mine shrimp and lobster scampi and my husband’s fried shrimp. My scampi had no flavor at all. I tried to find something flavorful but could not. My husband’s fried shrimp looked and tasted like Mrs.Paul’s again from the grocery store ( although Mrs.Paul’s is better) . With a plethora of restaurants in Bar Harbor, don’t waste your time or money here.

Our server Andy was excellent. Our reservations were at 4 pm so it was pretty quiet. We both ordered the macadamia crusted halibut and was probably the best meal we’ve had in Bar Harbor. Eat here. You won’t be disappointed!

Service was great. Food was OK. Not sure why add cheese to all the seafood dishes? In my opinion it blocks all the great flavors. Clam chowder was delicious. Lobster stew was ok.

This is our first time in Bar Harbor, Maine and our first time to The Chart Room. What a charming Maine restaurant. We ate in the covered and closed up terrace room, which was perfect for the weather. It poured rain while we were eating. Our server was so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed talking to her. She recommended the macadamia nut crusted halibut so I chose that dish. My wife had the fried scallops. Both were delicious. We then split a piece of blueberry pie. It was a great experience and we would highly recommend this place.

We were directed to an inside table which was wedged in the corner, though in front of the window. I had to pull it out from the wall, in order to seat myself, as there were four of us. The food was delicious - we will return. The one downside to inside was that it became very warm and humid fairly fast, which was probably because we were placed near to the door to the dining deck, and also there was only one ceiling fan a distance from our table. We made reservations, and I had hoped for a better table.

We often go to Chart House whenever a city we are visiting has one in the area. When I looked into this at Bar Harbor Maine, Chart Room was the site that came up. I'm used to Chart House being quite elegant but Chart Room was a bit more rustic, and smaller than I'm used to. The wait staff was excellent, and the food was terrific though more pricey than equivalent establishments.

The wait staff were very friendly and efficient, especially since two of our foursome were a little late. We had an excellent dinner. The only thing that could’ve been better would be including a basic green salad with the entrees. There were a few salads on the menu, but they were all “fancy” and pretty pricey. Our entrees were very well prepared and delicious.

We stopped here for our last dinner in Bar Harbor. Outside there was a sign that said Happy Hour 4-6, but once we got in that only applied to the dock seating and inside upstairs bar. The food was pricey and average. Great views from the outside deck area! Love that they are pet friendly as well!

We made a reservation for their Sunday brunch, but it wasn’t necessary since we were the only ones in the restaurant, there were two other customers at outside tables as well. The food was good, not much of a selection, but it was good. The service was excellent.
