Our server Andy was excellent. Our reservations were at 4 pm so it was pretty quiet. We both ordered the macadamia crusted halibut and was probably the best meal we’ve had in Bar Harbor. Eat here. You won’t be disappointed!

Service was great. Food was OK. Not sure why add cheese to all the seafood dishes? In my opinion it blocks all the great flavors. Clam chowder was delicious. Lobster stew was ok.

This is our first time in Bar Harbor, Maine and our first time to The Chart Room. What a charming Maine restaurant. We ate in the covered and closed up terrace room, which was perfect for the weather. It poured rain while we were eating. Our server was so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed talking to her. She recommended the macadamia nut crusted halibut so I chose that dish. My wife had the fried scallops. Both were delicious. We then split a piece of blueberry pie. It was a great experience and we would highly recommend this place.

We were directed to an inside table which was wedged in the corner, though in front of the window. I had to pull it out from the wall, in order to seat myself, as there were four of us. The food was delicious - we will return. The one downside to inside was that it became very warm and humid fairly fast, which was probably because we were placed near to the door to the dining deck, and also there was only one ceiling fan a distance from our table. We made reservations, and I had hoped for a better table.

We often go to Chart House whenever a city we are visiting has one in the area. When I looked into this at Bar Harbor Maine, Chart Room was the site that came up. I'm used to Chart House being quite elegant but Chart Room was a bit more rustic, and smaller than I'm used to. The wait staff was excellent, and the food was terrific though more pricey than equivalent establishments.

The wait staff were very friendly and efficient, especially since two of our foursome were a little late. We had an excellent dinner. The only thing that could’ve been better would be including a basic green salad with the entrees. There were a few salads on the menu, but they were all “fancy” and pretty pricey. Our entrees were very well prepared and delicious.

Casual waterside restaurant. Abundant portions. Emphasis on fresh seafood. Tried the poke tower. Interesting combination of tuna, cucumber, avocado, rice and spicy sauce. Cobb salad was copious - enough for two. Great service.

We stopped here for our last dinner in Bar Harbor. Outside there was a sign that said Happy Hour 4-6, but once we got in that only applied to the dock seating and inside upstairs bar. The food was pricey and average. Great views from the outside deck area! Love that they are pet friendly as well!

We made a reservation for their Sunday brunch, but it wasn’t necessary since we were the only ones in the restaurant, there were two other customers at outside tables as well. The food was good, not much of a selection, but it was good. The service was excellent.

Both the food and service were excellent! I thought the prices were a little on the high side but, that seems to be everywhere in Maine this summer. It was a bit noisy but, bearable. You can’t go wrong with a meal at the Chart Room!

It was a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary - amazing views, delicious food and a lovely waiter called Matthew who helped our 13 year old break open and eat his first lobster. A memorable meal and evening!

It was a busy night, but we were seated immediately, as we had reservations. The waitstaff were very pleasant, with good recommendations. The lobster stew was fantastic and I was happy to hear they had prime rib, although planned on the seafood linguini, if they didn't. The blueberry pie was amazing! It is located on the shore, so we had a beautiful view. We had been before and were happy to see the great quality was still there. Loved it! Oh, and they are pet friendly! The menu offers a hamburger patty or chicken for pets!

Probably one of my top 3 restaurants. Definitely #1 in Bar Harbor!! The food was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was great & service was fast. We even had blueberry pie — and we never get dessert. Please go to The Chart Room. You will not regret it.

The Chart Room is WAY overrated. It was supposed to be one of the best in town, but it was disappointing. The swordfish (broiled) tasted like it was previously frozen, was overcooked and rubbery. Pretty bad for a fish place! The carrots (2 medium sized whole carrots) were undercooked. baked potato was OK - kind of impossible to ruin a baked potato. Service was fine, and views are great. Wish the food was as good.

This is the second visit to the Chart Room. Service was great and the view is terrific. The food was good but not outstanding. My friend's scallops were not cooked and had to be returned. For a seafood place that is not acceptable.

A beautiful view but very disappointing food. My halibut was tasteless after the chef modified the dish to accommodate an allergy. The carrots were tasteless and almost raw and the salad was not fresh. Vegetarian dishes were not appetizing My husband’s seafood dish was very mediocre I would not recommend this restaurant!

Our meal of lobster stew, fried clams, halibut and blueberry pie was really delicious. The sunset view was spectacular!! Our server was friendly and helpful. We loved the laid back atmosphere and positive vibe.

Our server was excellent and the restaurant itself was very pleasant. The food was average and pretty overpriced for being just “okay.” I had the stuffed haddock which was stuffed mainly with bread crumbs and a very small amount of crabmeat. My husband has lobster carbonara pasta which he said was good but light on the lobster. We shared the macadamia sundae which was a disappointment. It was basically 4 scoops of low quality vanilla ice cream, with a squirt of Hershey’s syrup and a tiny bit of Carmel drizzle. We should have passed. It was very convenient as opposed to trying to navigate downtown Bar Harbor and for that reason alone I would go back.

Do you enjoy bland over priced food? If so, this is the place for you. Shrimp scampi was a taste bud bust & the Mac nut crusted halibut was mediocre at best… which seems odd given it’s the recommended signature dish. The chowder was meh & not warm… the french onion soup was a total flavor snooze. Save your money and go anywhere else… literally anywhere. A message to the owners of the chart room- look for a new executive chef, the view isn’t enough to make up for the buzz kill food. Worst meal in bar harbor hands down & thx to the cost I’ll be eating ramen for a week to recoup those wasted dollars.

You're definitely paying for the view. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. We both had different scallop dishes and while they were cooked correctly, they were extremely under seasoned. The bread was definitely store bought rolls. The drinks were very expensive. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone when there are so many other great choices around.
