We are an independent restaurant in the heart of Chester offering microseasonal dining with menus designed around what's growing on our farm in Daresbury. Menus change every four to six weeks.
Happy Hour is available in our lounge from 4-6pm on Wednesday-Friday.

Please note we have recently moved to a new premises at 7 Pepper Street Row. We are currently card-only and unable to accept cash.

Very good as always, the move to bigger premises has not affected the quality of the food. Excellent service and a really nice place to eat. Good choice of wines by the glass and a good wine list.

Simply excellent. 4 of us, a range of dishes , fish, meat, vegan. All were beautifully presented and all were delicious. We had 3 courses, each was excellent! We’ve been to Chefs Table several times - this was the best ever. Huge congratulations on your recent award, based on last night, thoroughly deserved

New location, beautiful decor and attention to detail. Ambience is a little lacking, however the service and the standard of food make up for it Second time here (1st time at the previous location) and will definitely return next time in Chester

Everything was excellent until my husband had to leave for an appointment. I was totally ignored and trying to get the coffee I had previously ordered proved difficult. A real shame as it had been great until then.

Had a wonderful lunch here on a Wednesday so the restaurant wasn't too busy so the service was great, our waiter Joe (I think) was extremely helpful and friendly.All four of us enjoyed the lunch deal 2/3 courses and the choice was good too. We all agreed the food was fabulous and portion sizes were good. The wine and cocktails were great too, will definitely visit again.

We were given a voucher for Christmas 2022 for a meal at Chef's Table and finally got round to using it on Sunday. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite from the outset. We went for the a la carte menu and their was plenty of choice for us both. The food came and the presentation and flavours were very good and the wine, by the glass, complimented the food so well. This was the first time we had been since the move but we would definitely come back again.

What a pleasure it was to dine here. The food was excellent and their new restaurant is fantastic. The wine list although extensive was explained perfectly by the Sommelier who really new what he was talking about and has a real passion for what he includes on his list. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Delicious food. Without side orders the main course was somewhat small. The dessert, bread and butter pudding, was a very small portion size. Other than that we were very pleased with the meal and the whole experience. Our servers were all very friendly and efficient.

Interesting menu, delicious food and excellent service. The drinks offering is good too, but a little pricey. The new restaurant is very smart and comfortable, but I think I preferred the intimacy of the old setting. However, I'm sure we will be returning.

A truly lovely experience, we treated ourselves to an escape lunch having just moved house and being in the midst of a big renovation. Lovely welcome, really attentive staff who are so nice. Superb food, the haggis fritters are amazing. The Guinness pie a real treat. Great wine list and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Chefs Table.. food was delightful and we would return, if I had to make one comment, we felt slightly rushed and had to tell the waiter to wait to bring the main course.: no sooner had we finished the appetiser the starter came. However, a small detail which wouldn’t stop us from returning
