   Four of us had a lovely long lunch, excellent choice on the set menu, portions generous. We had a table in a separate room so no problem with tables too close or noisy neighbours. The atmosphere was great, staff attentive but not intrusive. A very enjoyable meal out.

   Four friends went for a roast on mother's day. Have been before and was great but this was disappointing. They were busy and not enough staff so service was pretty poor (particularly as we kept being reminded that we could only have the table for 2 hrs). Waited over 30 mins for the bill. No one asked if we wanted more drinks. And the food was only ok. The beef was overcooked - very brown and chewy. The nutroast was extremly claggy and my friend left it entirely. The banoffee pie was 90% cream (the cheapest bit), and hardly any banana/caramel. And the base had zero flavour. Looked dramatic, very disappointing. Two of our party had the brownie which was not a brownie. It was totally solid. Also, we were crammed into the marquee which was stuffed - not enough room to get out to go to the toilet. Wouldn't rush back after this experience, but earlier experiences have been better.

   Excellent meal - great value Friday set menu £55 for two with a glass of wine. The food was all freshly prepared and of exceptional quality. Will definitely return.

   This was our second lunch in as many weeks. We just had to get back there. Liam's preparation and cooking to his usual tip top standard. Front of house (including Becky) was as friendly and efficient as ever. Eating by the beach is always a treat. To be able to eat so well for such reasonable prices is praiseworthy. There is a set menu 2 courses for £20 with plenty of choice. (3 courses is only a little more.) A la Carte too if you wish. Good wine list. Needless to say we will be back there before long.

   The service and very friendly welcome was great but the main course options a little disappointing. We decided to pay £8 extra each for Barnsley lamb chop but there was a lot of fat and bone so the meat was difficult to extract and mine was shedding blood in places. We enjoyed the starters and desserts but main course disappointing.

    Food as nice as always but asked to leave certain items away for my son which didn't happen although I repeated it. So if any alterations needed make sure they listen to you.

    A very busy evening for Valentine's Day. Well organised, good friendly service and delicious food. A good idea to have a limited menu, chosen in advance, so that the chef could concentrate on quality. We can recommend this as a very good venue with a friendly welcome. Thank you.

    We had a wonderful dinner on Valentines Day, but due to late booking (my fault!) we were outside in the Marquee. The staff were extremely helpful and the food delicious - the beetroot and apple soup was fantastic. We should have expected it - this is February after all! - and made use of the blankets provided but we we were all rather cold. Just a reminder that it is sensible to wrap up very warmly if eating outside at night!

    We went down for a nice pre-valentines date night. The food was nice, the menu was VERY limited. The only main we both fancied was down as “Lamb to share”, when it came out we both looked at each other, it was no way to share! We could have had one each, there was o my 3 cutlets too. How are we supposed to share three? Surely it should have been 4? We will probably return, but only for a few drinks after a long beach walk. Hive Beach Cafe is by far a much better place.

    I am afraid I was dissapointed on this occasion. The menu was very limited and lacked anything of particular interest. I made do with a crab salad starter bulked up for a main course resulting in too much salad. Service was excellent and could not have been more helpful. Maybe things are better in the Summer

    We have eaten here once before and the first time it was really lovely, a great experience and couldn't wait to come back, this time something was lacking, not quite sure what but didn't get the same level throughout this time. My wifes food wasnt cold but wasn't piping hot either, luke warm. And when we paid in cash we never received out £6 change which for me is a massive no no, yes of course we would of left a top, probably more than 6 but when it wasn't even offered back to you it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth... Won't be returning 😢

    The premises were very cold, never has my wife sat in her coat with a blanket over her legs, my daughter was also well covered up. As a consequence the food got cold very quickly. We ate hear a few weeks ago and we were very surprised to find the portions for the roast were much smaller in all areas ie meat and veg. As a consequence we won't come again!!

    Table for four Sunday Roast menu on a chilly November day, with a view of the sea. Local ale and some interesting gin. Food was excellent we even cheekily asked the chef for the secret ingredient of the red cabbage, it remains our secret. Highly recommend first class service.

    Great setting. Staff super friendly. Heated pavilion very noisy. Sunday lunch deal - waited over an hour. Beef cut far too thick for my taste. Yorkshire barely warm. Roast potatoes tasted like they had been deep frozen before cooking. Carrots and parsnips and red cabbage lovely. Starter of mackerel pate excellent. Others in the group had chicken which was enjoyed very much and vegetarian wellington not so much. Honeycomb cheesecake a real hit. Just seemed restaurant too busy to cope with number of covers.

    I was really looking forward to my treat of Sunday lunch at The Club House, however, this was spoiled by my seating arrangement. My table wasn’t ready when I arrived and instead of asking me to wait for a moment with a drink, I was seated at a totally blank table and assured they’d bring me cutlery! I was surrounded by lovely set tables with flowers, glasses and condiments etc while I was left to ask for condiments. When I raised with the server that this was not the experience I was expecting there was surprise but I was offered a complimentary mocktail of the day which was very pretty, but didn’t really make up for being left Feeling I was the poor relation popped in the corner unlike the other diners. The starter and dessert were very nice, the main course of beef was a bit disappointing with way too much red cabbage. All in all not the treat or experience I was hoping for and left feeling disappointed.
