Lambchops were delicious and perfectly prepared with the mint chimichurri a delicious complement. Loved that the wine flight choices were so flexible, allowing for substitution of any by-the-glass menu choice. We were staying overnight at The Roosevelt Empress and looking for something birthday-worthy for my celebration; something a little far from the tourist-concentrated area around the harbor. While it would be a nice walk, we took a short cab ride out to the Collective and back to the hotel after dinner. The location appears to offer many before and after dinner activities I'm encouraged to try next time I return.
Food was spectacular and wine was amazing!
Simple and tasteful ambiance. Food was very delicious with lovely presentation - we had poached pear salad, vegan risotto, and tenderloin steak. Service was excellent and personable. If we lived in Victoria, we would frequent this spot!
A very enjoyable evening! The food was delicious, the service impeccable, and I loved the ambience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and, most definitely, eat here again.
We visited The Collective Wine Bar my wife stated later that it was one of two times ever eating out where she could remember wanting to lick her plate afterwards if it were socially acceptable to do so.
The service was impeccable and the experience superb.
Fantastic dinner with my parents. My mother has food allergies and Chef Branko assured us that he could easily accomodate her needs. Gluten free options are readily available and delicious to boot! We had a charcuterie board that was simply amazing! Their house made meats, pickled vegetables and spreads were incredibly delicious. The dinner that followed was equally delicious. It was great to go out to a restaurant and to be able to have a fine dining experience and not worry about the allergy issue for my mother. We'll be back for sure.
Good food at a reasonable price, relaxing venue and Sea Cider flights!
Quite surprised to find this little gem in the heart of Cook Street village. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed our dinner and wine flights very much. Service was excellent and it is obvious that there are some very talented people in the kitchen. The room however is not conducive to loud and boisterous chatter which unfortunately is what greeted us for the first 30 minutes of our dining experience. These were folks who were there for the happy hour period. Apart from this loud talking, we absolutely loved our experience and will be back. Thank you.
Some friends and I went to The Collective to celebrate a birthday and we were so impressed with food, drinks, but above all else the service. Our server went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The menu for this place appealed to me but the execution was not as exciting. The prices seem reasonable and yet the total bill always seems more than expected. All in all this place is OK but not exceptional.
Always a great night to hang out with friends. The wine flights and charcuterie boards just make for a complete evening
Heard about this restaurant and have been wanting to try it! Really glad I did, went with my bestie and had a super time, from the service, ambiance, food and of course loved the wine flights!!
We're very happy to have this great restaurant in our neighbourhood! Our meals were excellent, and we can't wait to try all the different things on the menu.
The only disappointment with the Collective is that the drinks menu does not reflect what is available. We have been in twice now looking to enjoy the Albariño and both times asked to choose another. This most recent visit two wines and a whiskey were unavailable and the suggested alternatives were not comparable.
The food, ambience, friendliness and value for money are excellent though. I would still recommend the restaurant to friends.
The online reservation system was seamless and I had the best bowl of moules in ages!! Extra bread offered for me to slurp up the yummy broth!
The meat and cheese board was delicious. And Nicole our server was very professional and pleasant. I really like the design of the space. Very chic.
Four friends out for dinner. I ordered the halibut special, my wife and one of our friends ordered the chicken, our other friend ordered the clam dinner. Everyone enjoyed their food. Very tasty and well presented. Service, as usual, was excellent.
Friendly and attentive service; quality food prepared with care and attention to flavour. Highly recommend. Worth the walk.
Lovely location with rustic feel and comfortable ambiance. We tried a butcher block which was inventive with many in-house spreads and pickled vegetables. Had the Trapiche Broquel red wine which paired very well!
Relaxing yet energetic is how I would describe the feeling of being there. Would definitely go again. This was our second time and both were great experiences.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Food was good. The down side was the noise level. Because of the high open ceilings, if there is a group of six or more, the sound carries throughout and it was difficult to converse with your own group. We actually asked to be moved. One of our party had asked to have his meat served rare but it wasn’t cooked accordingly, even though it was tasty enough.
My wife and I went for dinner at The Collective for our anniversary. We started with the cheese plate and followed that with the main course. We both ordered the chicken dinner. The cheese plate was tasty. It came with bread and, for my wife who can’t take gluten, they brought excellent gluten free crackers. The chicken was very good but we didn’t like the broccolini that the chicken breast was sitting on. The rest of the vegetables were excellent. We both ordered coffee, one caffeine free and the other was a regular. We found the coffee bitter. The service was good.
This was the perfect place for a girls night out in the neighbourhood. We shared the charcuterie board which I would definitely recommend. Great wine list and knowledgeable server. This place is a much needed addition to the village! Will be back soon.
The staff were lovely and the service very good. However, it was noisy (a more accurate word than energetic), the seats were hard and the food mediocre.
We ordered oysters which were poorly shucked and full of shells. My fathers steak was cold. My hamburger was okay but at $27 I expected much more than okay. Will not return.
We had a really lovely evening at The Collective. Sarah was engaging (and amusing - always a plus). The food was tasty, timely and just the right amount.
Went for dinner for family birthday, what an excellent choice! Cozy atmosphere in great location, the food was excellent.
The service took the cake, though: they were alvery accommodating l, willing to rearrange seating for our larger party, and even allowed us to bring our own birthday cake!
Would absolutely recommend to anyone, and I'll be going back again
Great find highly recommended to me and happy to pass on that recommendation!
Unfortunately the 3 of us all had the lamb so cannot compare with other dishes. I wasn't blown away with the chops, one very thin and overdone the other thicker one was better. I forgot to tell the server to hold the mint sauce as I do not like mint but that was my bad. So overall I thought it rather pricey for what we got. Vegetables were great.
I would only recommend with some reservations but like I said we all had the same dinner so cannot speak to the rest of the menu.
The atmosphere and staff were welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. The food was delicious and served piping hot, which is a big plus for me! We felt we could take our time both with ordering and eating and had a wonderful, relaxing dinner out.
Food was good though not exceptional, portions not generous - eg, tuna tartare and moules & frites
Our overall experience was very good. The food was excellent however the portions were small and somewhat pricey.
I submitted a review already to the restaurant so without reiterating o give this place a 9/10 overall.
Service was exceptional
Great food, good ambience, diverse menu and friendly staff! Enjoyed our evening immensely. Will definitely come back and highly recommend it. Had Salt Spring mussels with frites and scallops on mushroom risotto. Well prepared and very tasty.
Overall - pretty great. However, the service was very slow. I don't think was a reflection of the server but of the restaurant not having enough staff to cover the tables.
It was great food good but not exceptional..
We arrived for dinner within a few minutes of our 6pm reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Sarah, was wonderful throughout with her wine and food recommendations. I love that they have wine flights so that you can try 3 different wines and then perhaps choose a glass of your favourite one to have with dinner. Dinner was very good - I, along with one of my friends, ordered the scallops with risotto and it was amazing! Two other friends had the burger and truffle fries and thought it was very good. We also shared their two feature desserts - creme brûlée ice cream and a dark chocolate mousse. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.
Enjoyed our food, loved the service. Place was really hoping on Friday night and it’s a great place for a meal. My only beef is the noise level, all due to the crowd and poor acoustics. I hope they find a creative way to dampen it.
This was a great place. Fits right into the cook street village neighbourhood. Great food and service.
I’ve dined at The Collective Wine Bar four times. The food is tasty, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The server on my last few visits was very pleasant, attentive and charming.I highly reccomend The Collective for a pleasant evening out.
