    By far, this is the best place to go in Orillia and probably all of Simcoe County. The service is excellent, staff are attentive but not overbearing. It is a beautiful restaurant with a cool vibe. The cocktails are tasty, the dishes are interesting and the wine list is great. It is not cheap, but it is priced appropriately for the quality of the food.

    The food is seriously tasty with generous sized portions. We had bone marrow and rabbit lasagna, which were a taste explosion. Bibb lettuce salad, Hamburger with fries and filet of halibut! Both were cooked to perfection! Wonderful staff, attentive service and a unique wine list. Would highly recommend!!

    Well, It was my second time to the common stove. Hostess said something but we did not hear her and stayed at the front entrance Waitress was pleasant, and we finally sat down for dinner. Order the Halibut and all I tasted was a mouthful of salt. Seemed the same for the other dinner was the fillet steak and right away we looked at each disappointment of far too much salt We ate half our meals and left them to go back to the kitchen Kale came as a side dish to the halibut in 3 massive leaves which were hard to cut and not enjoyable at all The steak dinner went with the potatoe and 3 small chocolate size squares came tasted hard dry and a pile of salt was sprinkled on the top of all 3 of them ...Kinda like a hash brown but hard & crunchy. Sorry, The food did not cut it and sadly have to add the restaurant stunk of dead fish . a very strong odor that set your nose to no rest all night long, woofs of fish smell and I LOVE FISH ...This was unpleasant Absolutely, overpriced for both dinners which was like being served a half portions on your plate Sorry to say It was a special delight to book resevations and end with a feeling of being empty and no way full at all. Waitress asked how the meal was which took us a total of 5-7 minutes to eat half portions of fish 4 bites of steak and it was just over done with salt salt salt 🧂🙃 She meantioned that she will tell the cook. That was it...we knew we would never cone back there was a rush to get us out since they were closing up We booked a 7:15 time sat for a half hour to 45 minutes wait which was fine for fine dinning. But at the end of our meal they were in a big rush to close restaurant Again, best part was the friendly waitress with a big smile , with no answers She also was our bar tender and the drink she stated to try was like drinking 2 ounces 14.00 cost iwe asked if it is a true bartender that made the drinks & she admitted to making them herself. We both felt there was no booze in it at all. Sorry bad

    We always go to The Common Stove for special occasions. We like the atmosphere, and the changing menu and the cocktails! Our server was very efficient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this superb restaurant experience.

    We enjoyed a delicious dinner at The Common Stove. The service was impeccable and the food quality was superb! It is a bit pricey but we were so glad we had the experience and would definitely return for a special event. Thank you to the staff for a memorable evening

    Amazing food and staff. Sat the chefs counter and watched the action. They were happy to tell us about the other food options they offer and discuss the menu while cooking on the open fire. Try the sticky toffee pudding!!

    An amazing experience and engagement dinner. I had made plans to propose before dinner and asked for the table to be ready with champagne and they did not disappoint. The food as always is top notch and a lovely place to have dinner/make a memory. The entire staff and kitchen works hard to give the best experience possible and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an amazing experience.

    Very disappointing My spouse had the trout which tasted very fishy and has felt unwell.The duck did not taste like duck and the ribeye was tough and too well done .Over all the food lacked taste and very disappointing

    We had such a great night! The service was wonderful, the food was amazing and the vibe was the best. We had fun watching the head chef coordinate a busy Friday night from afar. They make an amazing team.
