Expertly handcrafted cocktails and well made appetizers made for an incredibly enjoyable evening with our friends. We will definitely be coming back!
Outstanding cocktail selection and food quality. First class, friendly service. Confederation lounge is a beautiful, well appointed room.
Excellent service, food was delicious
Amazing lunch with a fantastic view! I had the halibut fish tacos .. I’d go back just for those alone! But everything was delicious including the cocktails!
Thank you for helping to make our 7th wedding anniversary so special! The food was delightful and our server was a gem. We can’t stop talking about the Tomato Burratta Toast - it was delectable! Thanks again :)
One of my favorite spots in Edmonton. Love the ambience, food and great service.
We had a lovely afternoon tea. Service was great and the view also.
What a gorgeous outdoor lounge! Beautiful and so warm with heaters and firebowl. The charcuterie board was 10/10! Such a refreshing change for Edmonton’s downtown scene. I will definitely be going back!
Our server was amazing! Highly recommended
As always, Hotel Mac is excellent
Our Anniversary dinner on the Confederation Lounge Patio was delightful. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great evening.
Great view. Patio in the fall is the best! Friendly services and great food. Can’t wait to go back.
Gwen was lovely as always. The food was amazing and the outside patio views were beautiful. Definitely would recommend for a nice night out, patio drinks or a special occasion.
I took my mother-in-law for tea for her birthday because she had never been. She loved the experience and we will definitely be coming back in the future.
Great place for any special occasion. Exceptional customer service ! Make sure to take a walk through the garden before or after and take in the beautiful views.
It was ok but did not get to go on a tour because of covid...makes no sense to me, they will serve us food and rent out rooms but wont let us do the tour?
Some of the girls had never done the high tea so it took away from the experience...
I should have been informed on this when I made reservation we would have had brunch there instead of over priced finger food and tea.
Probably the best patio spot in Edmonton. Great view and great food!
Doubt you can top the patio experience in Edmonton on a beautiful fall evening. Bravo!
Carmen our server was lovely..food was OK, pricey but I guess you pay for the venue somewhere...
From the spectacular historic setting, to the stellar service, to the phenomenal food, this was one of my favourite dining experiences. Our serving sizes were very generous- every single item on the plate was top quality. The service was beyond reproach and delightful. My only regret is not going sooner!
Our server, Michele, was lovely! Wonderful sense of humour and very knowledgeable about the menu!
I took my daughter and a friend out for breakfast before her first day of kindergarten. We were able to sit out on the patio which is absolutely beautiful. Our server Michelle was efficient and friendly and even brought the girls a special treat to celebrate their special day.
Such a beautiful spot for a special meal. Server was very attentive and responsive. Everything was lovely.
I’ve been here several times already. I love it but this time if found it a little underwhelming.
I’ll chock it to COVID limitations on the menu, but I wouldn’t go for the chicken dish again. (portions size was good but overall I was disappointed with the flavour. For the price, I would expect to be wowed with flavour but — let’s put it this way — I’m not a professional cook but I’ve made better risotto at home.)
Great ambiance, excellent drinks, beautiful patio view, I will return (but maybe get a different meal.)
Our waiter Jacob was so sweet,he made our experience so wonderful.I wish there were a few more sandwiches and all the teas came to the table so we could try more,Thats how they do it London.Overall experience was wonderful. My daughter and I really enjoyed it!!!!
I really appreciate the chef who made us enjooy my birthday even more by doing lil changes of converting dishes from non veg to veg and our server i guess her name was Laila was awesoome too. Thanx for wonderful experience
Limited menu. Uninspired options. Overpriced. Indifferent service.
Great ambience as well as great food and service makes the lounge at the Fairmont a great choice.
Beautiful patio and we enjoyed live music (courtesy of Downtown Live sponsored event). That was worth the money. But the food and service were not great
My 12 year old daughter and I had a lovely afternoon tea at the Fairmont Macdonald. The sandwiches and dessert were tasty and definitely enough for the two of us though. My daughter absolutely loved the scones with fruit compote, and I'll second that. The only thing that I would change would be to add an option for children's menu as I don't know many kids who would enjoy smoked salmon. The tea trays are built on demand so adding some kid friendlier selections might be appreciated. We finished off our afternoon with a stroll in the gardens and we decided that we would return at least twice a year for afternoon tea.
Tomatoes and Burrata was delicious but the fish tacos lacked flavor. The basil and mint gin based cocktail was not that good. The sticky toffee pudding-like desert was fantastic.
Food was soso and the fish tacos were tasteless with much batter. Even the salsa was bland.
Drinks were good. Setting was great!
Beautiful location! Stunning views. Classic. Perfect for all occasions.
A wonderful dining experience overall. I had the Steak au Poivre, which tasted excellent; the only problem is, it was not tender. Are these steaks properly aged (at least 28 days)? One expects better steak from the FHM.
Awesome as always!
Lovely atmosphere and the best view in the City. We sat on the patio, even while a thunderstorm was underway (lightning was far away, and were cozy because it was covered and had heaters.
Our service was great, as always. And we all enjoyed our food - crispy wings, delicious tomato and burrata toast, and burgers and fries. Tip: the burger could probably be shared between two people.
Normally we are here in August every year for an overnight stay, dinner in the Harvest room, and spending the evening in the Confederation lounge. This year of course COVID so the restaurant is closed and food is only being served in the lounge. I though this would be ok as we are familiar with the kitchen and enjoy the lounge but it does lack the intimacy of the restaurant for such an occasion. Myself and daughter ordered the Flank steak au poivre, my wife had the bruleed chicken, we started with a chefs board to share. Two cheese’ and two meats with four pieces of toasted bagette on a plate did not justify the $35 price. Those familiar with the harvest room and have had their Filet know it is pricey but fantastic. This Flank steak for a price of $45 with fries was not worth it, it was cooked perfect just not a great piece of meat. My daughters was missing seasoning altogether and we both agreed mine was better. I get COVID exists and there needs to be compromises but I eat and stay in the hotel Macdonald more than a few times a year, this is the first time I was disappointed in the food. Service and atmosphere of course are always great, as expected at this price point.
I and and group of ladies come to the MacDonald hotel once a year for lunch. We love the patio and always view the gardens. Some of our group this years where newbies.
Always an enjoyable outing for us senior ladies.
Food from my local Original Joe's would beat this by very large margins. The fish taco's was sub par and the cheese board was laking.
Went here for a get together with a friend.
Ambiance was amazing, we sat at the patio, it was nice and quite.
However, I’m quite quite disappointed as the quality of food is poor, (I gave it a chance even although I’m not a huge fan of the Harvest room restaurant as well)
We ordered the Baja Halibut Tacos and the Kitchen board (both from all day menu). Taco fish was dry, kitchen board consist of a simple huge blocks of parmesan and padano cheese, sourdough toasted bread, 2 kinds of cold cuts and grapes, no proper cheese knife provided, we were given a steak knife. It lacks presentation- something that most customers would want when they go to this places knowing that it’s one of the supposedly”nicer” hotels in Edmonton. Service was ok, but I was not impressed with the food option and the quality.
