   Decent food, but sitting down at 7:15 we were surprised how early the kitchen closed. Starters were excellent, main course a bit disappointing given the cost. £21 for a duck leg which was nice but not special and nearly £20 for a risotto which wasn't that great. No desserts were offered, presumably as the kitchen had closed. However, overall we had a nice time, nice bottle of wine and reasonable food.

   The food was delicious. We shared the tomatoes/mozzarella with pesto. Then one belly pork and one crispy Asian beef, all excellent. Finished with Lemon meringue. Will definitely be going again - nice to have somewhere local serving above average food. One advisory: we waited quite a long time for the main course, and when we asked where our order was, the waiter informed us that the pork took 25 minutes to prepare. Might be a good idea to tell the diner this when ordering?

   The food is good quality and large portions. We were there on a Sunday lunch and 2 chaps had the roasts which were very substantial. The service was efficient and although we only had 'Mains', we did have coffees. I would go back if in the area.

   Complained about meal as roasted parsnips was uncooked and rock hard as still raw when roasted. Waitress said this is the second time within late week and just apologised but nothing done. Meal was also tepid temperature and not up to ususal standard. Overall disappointing experience in this occasion.

   Overall thoroughly enjoyed the food, only one very minor issue the the bread on which the asparagus was serve was overdone and exceptionally hard in places but this didn't destruct from the overall enjoyment.

    Booked a table here at short notice. They were able to accommodate us even though we had our dog with us. Food, staff, and ambience were lovely. Really big meals!! Was going to have a desert, but after a starter and a main meal, we had to give it a miss!!

    We had such a good time here! Great food, great value and nice service. Best if all, they let us sit there for ages enjoying our lunch out and chatting over coffee. I’ve been before and would always come again.

    We dine here often over the last year or so, but unfortunately this time the service was a bit below their usual standard. There seemed no organisation of serving customers we waited ages in between the main meal and being asked if we would like to see the sweet menu and then waited even longer for someone to take the order as they were serving other customers in what seemed a completely random way. we were then told it was a 20min wait for our sweets!! This was only due to rather than taking orders straight after requests the waiters were taking orders from new tables . How can ice cream and sticky toffee pudding take that long??! Suffice to say we cancelled the order, asking for the bill straight away. We then waited for what seemed like ages and ended up standing up and attempting to find someone to deal with payment I realise it was a bank holiday but we were the first to be seated and there really didn't seem to be enough or experienced staff on to deal with this

    Nice meal with the family, didn’t have a great table, given the restaurant was empty not sure why we were given that table. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Nice to see it back open again and we will be back

    Great! Interesting, thoughtful menu. Gourmet pub dining with the emphasis on creating delicious twists on favourite pub fare. Portions are sufficient (possibly the pasta dish was a tad skimpy for our guests who didn’t have a starter).. but we couldn’t manage dessert -‘nuff said! Super to have a good local dining experience again especially after the loss of Mediterranean. Highly recommend (prices reflect the quality) we will continue to support - hopefully many others will too especially during these difficult times.

    Overpriced + plates were cold which meant food was cold. Fish pie shown on menu online but told by waiter it’s no longer on the menu. Won’t be going there again

    Have eaten there twice now and everyone has really enjoyed their food, there is a good choice and it arrives in good time, hot, by cheerful members of staff. The atmosphere is very nice and the noise level completely satisfactory. I look forward to going there again!

    The only problem I had was that I ordered the stuffed Plaice, which was so thin it was like a layer of paste was spread over the bones, so it was hard to get any fish without a mouthful of bones. I do eat fish a lot so im used to bones but this was another level. My partner had a different meal and hers was fine as were the deserts, its a shame. but I feel this is a fair and honest review

    Lovely place, our waiter was superb, cheerful, polite and engaging. I had the mushroom tagliatelle which was slightly undercooked and the plate was cold so it didn’t stay hot for long. Friend had the butternut burger and it was delish! We were not rushed and enjoyed our lunchtime catch up. The fish and chips were ordered by the table near us and it looked incredible!

    We looked at the menu before booking and kind of knew what to expect as we have been there many times before. When we arrived and were given the menu there were no starters on it we asked if this was correct and were told yes that was the correct menu. When I asked why no starters we were told. We are to busy on a Sunday to do starters, that to me sounds like it is what we want NOT what the customer wants. Would not of booked if I had known. Sure they will not change for me so just take of places for Sunday lunch. We go during the week when these are available.
