Lovely pub little slow on service between courses but didn’t matter as it gave us time to chatter . The table was sticky asked to wipe but was still sticky. lovely meal and variety of choice would visit again

Lovely place to sit outside on a sunny day. I’m pleased they have reintroduced some salads and sandwiches to the menu, we love the setting inside and out, but don’t always want a substantial cooked meal at lunch time.

We went for a quiet Thursday lunch. The generous portions served quickly. There were two real ales on tap. The background music was not over powering and added to the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and efficient.

2nd lunch here with girlfriends. Great value set lunch menu which you can’t fault for quality and presentation. Enjoyed by all. 5⭐️ in all respects.

Good table and atmosphere in the bar seating. Food was good but slightly tough skin on baked potatoes. Service a little slower than usual but overall still a lovely lunch as always.

Had lunch menu which was adequate but when we ordered Eton Mess off A la Carte menu..it arrived with 2 strawberries 2 blueberries and a whole lot of whipped cream . When I searched for the meringue I spied 4 TINY pieces on the side. Same with my friends. I asked for more meringue and the waiter was rude and gave us a tiny bit more saying the chef said that was enough for 2. It wasn't and my friend said keep it and take it off the bill. Again the waiter was extremely rude. I will never go again

Three of us met for Sunday lunch here as we were in the area. The table was quiet and secluded, a little dark for daytime but cool and comfortable and tucked away which was nice. Two people had the full roast and trimmings, beef (there were 3 choices and the option to have one, two or three meat choices together). The salmon Caesar salad I had was delicious. We had dessert. Two Eton mess which were enjoyed. The number of strawberry's in the 'strawberries and cream' could have been more generous, but there was a crumb and a chantilly cream with them so it was still a delicious dessert. Would visit again definitely.

Slightly unusual requirements, such as small portions and slow eating (one diner recovering from a stroke) were accommodated without fuss. The bill was available immediately at the end of the meal.
