The Diamond Ratings and Reviews
Great service! The east coast gals took great care of us!
Great experience! Waiters were friendly, ambience was nice & food was fantastic! The whole Riverdale cast was there on my Birthday so it was extra special!
We had a great evening but we had to carry my mother in a wheelchair up 2 flights of stairs. I’m not sure if it makes it clear on website that it is not wheelchair accessible....? But everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
We celebrated a birthday here. It was a wet windy west coast evening but, we were warm and cozy inside. The building itself is very beautiful and the ambience in the restaurant was very nice. Good lighting, beautiful view, good food and great cocktails!
The Diamond is a really loud bar/pub setting with a few items to snack on. I was shocked to see the menu mostly Sushi items, mediocre sushi. Nothing resembled tapas at all. Drink menu was good, music they played was good although all one had to shout to be heard less than a foot away.
I was not impressed that I was charged for the slice birthday cake. I've never had that in any restaurant before.
The hostess was quite rude and on a power trip when we arrived a little late (I tried calling to let them know ... but they don't have a phone number). Turns out our table was still available so there was no need for the cattiness. However by the time we sat down and were being served by a waitress - she was great.
I brought some friends from out of town here and we had amazing food and cocktails. Diamond is always a delight!
The food was fantastic and the service was great, but the music we so loud i had to shout in the persons ear i was sitting next to....there were 9 of us and we couldn't visit because of the music. It would of been perfect had the music been turned down.
Great as always!
Come for ambiance and great people watching. However, be ready to say good bye to a large chunk of change because drinks and plates are over priced for quality and quantity ($10 for a beer and a shot of gin!?)
Great food at a reasonable price! We were a couple from out of town going on a date, the place had a great view of the busy streets and the waitress was very friendly. We shared a chacuitarie board and some sushi rolls and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend if you're new to the area.
Gorgeous turn of the century place, without air conditioning, was unpleasantly warm. This is a bar, forget about eating anything substantial here, great bar though.
The cocktails are delightful! The 'Japanese Old fashioned' is why we keep going back. It is always busy which gives a great vibe.
The cocktails were a bit of a disappointment as they were not very well balanced, and the server was a bit all over the place. She would disappear before someone else at the table had the opportunity to order another drink. The food was mediocre at best, I ordered a few pieces of sushi, which were very expensive given the quality of the unevenly cut and mostly flavourless fish. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I liked.
Garlic octopus was quite good, the ume shiso roll was good as well. Very strong cocktails.
Enjoyed the food and the cocktails are amazing! Our server was very knowledgeable and could recommend a drink to suit any taste, if you ask they will even make drinks not on the menu. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Vancouver!
Great music and pleasant service.
Great cocktails, excellent service, lovely room. But why is it so loud, every single time I go??
Would leave zero stars if it were an option.
great ambiance, would definitely come back
- service was awesome
- sushi was fresh and delicious
- a little expensive although very good
No hot drinks available which isn't great in the winter
Great restaurant. We went for drinks and appies. Cocktails were ambitious (one was a hit, one was a miss). No complaints about food. Great spot for after-work get together.
Food and drinks were delicious! Cool vibe- but was a bit loud. Overall it was a great time, and will be returning☺️
Amazing. Spent the evening in the corner of the restaurant coupled between two floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the Water Street cobblestone. The service was fantastic, I asked for a special request from the waitress for my date and they went along with it perfectly. Great evening.
Drinks were amazing!
We went here for a friends birthday for dinner early (6pm) before heading out to other activities that night. The appetizers were delicious but perhaps a little small for our group of four. The rolls are tasty but very basic. The highlight was definitely the cocktails - innovative, tasty, and a massive list. The servers are really great at offering up suggestions on which ones to try. The noise level when we left at 7:30pm was already getting pretty high - the atmosphere is gorgeous, especially if you can swing a window seat. Would definitely go there again, but wouldn't go there hungry - not a ton of food for what you pay for.
Great food and drinks, wonderful service. Was at the Diamond to celebrate a birthday, we had a great time
Fantastic place. Favourite cocktail bar in the city!
I loved the location and the table was great. The cocktails were very expensive and underwhelming for the price. The service was just average. Server hinted that it would be appropriate to tip 20% for the service which put me off.
Drink and staff were great. The octopus dish was great, but won't be going back for the sushi next time we go.
Love it here!!! Always great for cozy romantic drinks or a fun group occasion!
The menu is eclectic to say the least. It was really busy so the service was slow and spotty. Good place for a date and drinks but not the best for catching up with friends. The food was ok but the choices were odd.. a bit of sushi, a Cuban sandwich and some tapas just not sure what it's supposed to be.
