We arrived on time and were seated promptly. We enjoyed the ambience and the steaks we ordered were prepared nicely as per our requests. The Sommelier was experienced and knowledgeable and was able to quickly recommend a replacement for a wine I had chosen [which was not available]. Our waiter Milton and efficient service and checked on us regularly throughout the dinner. We enjoyed our dinner and will return next time we are in Victoria. Andre

Wow! There is a reason this place achieved restaurant of the year. My husband and I visited this place for an anniversary dinner and had the best meal in years. Our table wasn’t quite ready yet so we were treated to a complimentary bubbly at the bar while we waited (very nice start). Then when we were seated the staff were extremely accommodating and we were provided with a complimentary starter (lovely surprise). The staff were all very knowledgeable and the sommelier was as well. The wine menu was like a novel and same with the cocktail menu! The drinks were an experience all on their own!! This place should call the linguine… the “last meal linguine” cause it was to die for. We ordered the fresh oysters, scallops, linguine and salmon. We were too full for dessert (unfortunately) but the small treats/truffles offered prior to our bill were perfection in a few bites. Thank-you soooo much to The Courtney Room… I wish I didn’t live a few provinces away.

What a treat to enjoy lunch here after a long morning drive from Tofino. We both had pasta, along with two different BC wines. The service via Sarah our waitperson was flawless, and the room/ambience just what we needed after 4.5 hours on the road. The Courtney Room deserves all its recent and past accolades. Bon appetit!

A little disappointing. We had eaten here before, and it has regressed. We spent 4 nights in Victoria and considered this our lowest ranked dinner. The food is quite good, no question. BUT, the server we had was extremely arrogant and it set the wrong tone. The portion size for both the salmon and cod fillets must have been about 4 ounces. When you are paying $40+ for these, one might expect a little more quantity. And, the atmosphere is quite stiff -- not fun or engaging at all. The whole staff seems to be going through the motions and don't appear to enjoy what they are doing. We will not return. There are too many other better dinner options.

Wonderful food, you can tell the kitchen puts great passion into their work. Servers were very attentive. Atmosphere was pleasant. Not a huge restaurant, so waiters were on hand at all times. Definately coming back. We did have breakfast here as well as it was exceptional. Menu items ordered, waffles were delicious, eggs benedict were divine. Dinner was ribeye steak and pork coppa. Excellent. Drinks were strong. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
