Not what I have come to expect from the Diplomat. Food has been sub standard the last two visits.
The Thanksgiving Neal was excellent, really good value and the service was excellent even though the restaurant was full.
It’s been awhile since our last dinner at the Diplomat. We were with a party of 5 and it was American Thanksgiving Turkey meal ... fantastic! Great service, lots of food and delicious 😋
Food and service were great, staff are always friendly. Never disappointed
Always delicious food, great staff and a lovely ambiance !!!
Very pleasant dinner. Service was excellent. Food was excellent.
Very intimate. Always remember you. Food is outstanding. It is expensive but worthwhile.
Great meal. Waiter was perfect attentive but not overbearing. Will Def be returning
Excellent service, friendly staff and great food. A regular stop every time I am in town.
Excellent meal and service
Meal was excellent as was the service.
Great food and service, a little over priced for what we got. House wine is very overpriced.
Very wonderful atmosphere, excellent food, and great service.
The service and experience was excellent. Food was great with generous portions. 300 % market on wines is excessive.
The lobster tail was overcooked by a long shot, think browned rubber and the three slivers of potataoes were blackened, two broccoli pieces and one dozen carrot slices. This for the low low price of $45.
Really nice but not worth the price. I do not mind paying more for better overall experiences, but this fell a bit short on the value.
Joe was our server absolute gentleman. Sublime table service. Martini without a single bruise. California Red rare beef no better delivery. I’ve been to Jacob’s, Morton’s, Barberians they definetly have something to learn from the Diplomat. Kudos. Bucket List checked.
I haven’t eaten here in over a year. Compared to all of the other steak houses I find the food is a bit lacking. I think one should have pretty high expectations when a basic steak dinner for two can cost at least $150. The ambience is really nice and the service was what it should be for that type of restaurant. I just found that the food quality, taste, detail and uniqueness wasn’t at the same standard as the service and ambience. Other steak restaurants have much better food but not as quiet and romantic so I guess it’s what you are looking for in that respect.
Great service, good food. Will go again
We haven’t been to the Diplomat for a while so not entirely sure what has happened to the food quality since our last visit. We were there with a party of four and three of the meals were horrible. The chicken in one dish looked like it had come from one of those bags you can buy from Costco. Not at all fresh looking. The shrimp atop the chicken tasted stale and contaminated the sauce which made the entire dish taste reminiscent of a dirty sock. The cook on the beef filet was decent but the cut was a half inch thick and looked more like a McDonald’s hamburger patty. Definitely not worth the $50 price tag. The rib dish that we ordered was certainly not “fall off the bone” and still had silver skin on it. It looked like they were tossed in bottled barbecue sauce and not at all appetizing.
The feta stuffed (real) chicken breast was good, but couldn’t save the entire meal. The vegetables on the plate were obviously not fresh and somewhat woody. The baked potatoes were good. The stuffed potato was old looking and dry. They up charged me for a Greek starter salad and I got a green salad with bottled Italian dressing and some feta and two olives thrown on top. This was NOT a Greek salad so the up charge was ridiculous.
The server was very attentive and did a great job.
I don’t mind paying for good quality food, but it just wasn’t there this time.
Food was amazing and the service was even better! We have been a few times and will go back again!
Very nice experience, would definitely consider returning.
The kebabs were tender and seasoned perfectly. Steak and lobster was delicious. Service impeccable and environment elegant but laid back and restful.
My filet was perfect. I always order the same thing. I know what I like. I like the Diplomat.
The service was fantastic and the food was great as usual.
Very good steakhouse. My medium-rare filet was very good.Nothing to complain about the food, service or ambiance.
Food quality was average and the price was high
Always delicious food, great service. We have dined at the Diplomat many ties and will return. Warm and cozy atmosphere makes a great ambiance for all occasions.
A perfect anniversary evening. Our server was very congenial, we had a great time with her. The lighting was right, & not noisy. We plan on returning again.
Had the beef tips lunch special. It was good, just not something I would order again. More like a stew than I expected, and I am not a fan of that type of meal. The place was pretty empty which allowed for a good business discussion to occur which was great. Server was very attentive and timely with everything.
Amazing as always
Hands down the best dining experience in town. I did say experience! Lots of places have great food; nobody put ambiance, service, atmosphere together like this place.
Atmosphere was good. Food was well done and delicious. Service was great. Value for dollar was excellent as the diplomat had their 40th anniversary special on.
Service was very attentive and quick. Would've preferred a better place between appetizers and main course. Meal was prepared exactly as ordered, and served hot.
A little pricey for the portion size.
Would recommend for special occasions.
Great place for lunch. Great, friendly service. Good value meal.
Old style traditional Steakhouse
Excellent wine list
Very good service
And a perfect mesl
Our meal was delicious. The service was excellent. We’ve been going here for years and one of our favourites.
My steak was not cooked the way I requested but that was quickly rectified. However, my potatoes were slightly burnt, my wife’s ribs were overdone and her rice pilaf was basically plain rice. Very disappointing considering other meals there. We will consider another restaurant next time.
Very nice lunch and the environment enabled a great conversation to occur.
